Service was quick and straight forward. There's plenty of seating around and the cafe is quite open. I ordered the chai latte which was really good and the lemon loaf was yummy and not too sweet. My partner got the matcha latte which I tasted and we both agreed was quite watery. Because I'm rating my own orders, I'm giving it 5 stars but note that the matcha is sub par at least for this experience.
Love Moja. Was able to find street parking easily and this was the place we got a quick snack before getting lunch across the street. Love my warmed pastry and drink on a really chilly day. Sat on a bench across the street to people watch. Can't wait to come back and visit for the fast and friendly service.
A lively coffee shop on The Drive, Moja Coffee serves up it's house label coffee beans, as well as teas and pastries. In fact, you might actually know their brand of beans if you've grabbed a cup of joe from Thomas Haas, Mink Chocolates, or Terra Breads. That's just a few of the shops that serve Moja's beans. I wasn't feel coffee on this visit, so I had ordered a genmaicha. Everything was totally great for a cup of tea... but you know what my favourite thing is when drinking tea at these shops? My tea comes with a little cape. Yes, it's just the tea bag that hangs over the edge of your cup. However, I think it's just super. ;) The staff is all super friendly and awesome. Very much the vibe of the neighbourhood. Depending on the time of day, the crowd shifts was caffeine cravers to those getting together with friends or colleagues for a chat. Personally, I love the energy of the place. All in all... There's more than a handful of spots to grab a coffee or tea on The Drive. Just don't ignore this one.
My go to coffee shop for beans I use in my moka pot. They have an extensive selection perfect for whatever your preferences might be. I love the IMARA -- it's well balanced and I love a good thick crema. Each time you buy coffee beans, you'll also receive a complimentary coffee. It's a great little treat. I like that there's seating inside but also a couple of benches outside. I love supporting local businesses around this neighbourhood and this is one of which I go back to again and again.
The cafe is a roastery and bakery at the same time. Most of the interior space is dedicated to those two endeavours. Street parking is sparse on Commercial. You may need to park on the side streets and if you are lucky, you can find some 2 free hour parking spots. Seating is interesting: the tables and stools are designed to accomodate the serving bar. There are no outlets for except two we can see by the window. Not the best for work when in need of power source. Plus, they keep the door open so you may be quite cold working there during winter months. We ordered a cappuccino ($4.05) and a small latte ($4.25). Cappuccino ($4.05): 5/5 - approximately 6 oz in size. this place makes the cappuccino dark, strong, and can wake you up from brink of dozing off to fully alert in 60 seconds. The milk and espresso is delicately balanced and you can tell the baristas here are dedicated to their craft. Small Latte ($4.25): 5/5 - approximately 6 oz in size as well. The latte is closer to what we taste in other cafes for a cappuccino - less concentrated on the roast and heavier on the milk. However, this latte is still much more potent than other lattes. Overall: we are 110% awake just sitting here drinking half of the drinks. We will definitely come back again for the roast, the barista, and our straight shot of caffeine (who needs a pre-work out when you have this?)
Service 2/5 Ambiance 3/5 coffee 4/5 value 3/5 Greeted by a disgruntled orange haired female cashier who appears to be not happy serving or being there. In the mid-sentence she disappeared. Apparently I just need to pay and that was it. Coffee was good but not great. Slightly on the acidic side. But plenty strong. Value wise, keep in mind you are paying for the posh ambiance. So depending if you love it or not, it can deemed as worth it. I thought it average. High grade finish interior. Though couple of criticisms. There is a dead space in the middle of the dining area without seating. Standing there feels awkward, so likely is sitting there. So no seating either. The whole place is hard surfaced echoing every whisper making the space intolerably loud.
Cute pastries with flower design powdered sugar. The Hass sour Cherry turnover crust was flaky like a croissant and filled with cherry fruit filling. Very good.
This place is awesome! My sister and I came to this coffee shop after looking for nearby coffee shops and we loved the decor, ambiance and coffee. I definitely am a fan of their circular counter setup and having the roastery right in the coffee shop. I told my sister that I'd love to have my future apartment look similar with the white/black/wooden decor and exposed brick wall. I ordered their soy mocha, which had a good balance between the milk, coffee and chocolate flavors. Definitely one of the better mochas I've had. I'm hoping to come back to try some of their other drinks as well.
Really enjoyed this cafe! We stopped by for a light breakfast before heading for a hike. We got a matcha latte, a mocha, banana bread, and a chocolate croissant. Everything was really good but I did wish they were able to warm up the banana bread. Worth dropping by when in the area! read more
Location is half the battle for coffee shops, but you still need good coffee. Moja Coffee aces both those dimensions. The location is immediately across the street from the famous Lunch Lady and close to numerous other restaurants at the top of commercial. Their coffee is also rich and tasty. The interior is spacious and well designed. It's a great place to catch up with friends. They also have clean washrooms with a code lock, and they have a self-serve water station. Overall a great coffee shop to visit if you're in the area. read more

Such an adorable spot! We had breakfast a few blocks away and wanted an excellent cup of coffee - well, I did. My husband is a tea person! I was pleased to see lovely gluten free pastry and cookie options too! I got a Cortado with whole milk - if you love coffee and have NOT had one, this is the place to do it! I feel a Cortado says it ALL about a coffee shop. It's the purest and most amazing form to taste the quality of the coffee. This Cortado was SOO lovely! And I ordered a coconut chocolate gluten free cookie. So so so good. My hubby got a London Fog and really liked it. If I lived here I would go every day! So Cole on over! Super friendly staff and cute all around! Loved the sign for the bathroom too! I made sure to tell the staff the coffee and cookie were excellent! Not too many places that I don't enjoy about 'The Drive', that includes this bustling cafe. Today I only wanted a London Fog with Oatmeal milk but that's because I had some of my espresso roast from my Mona coffee beans already this morning. I don't drink as much coffee as I used to but when I do it has to be organic fair trade. Mostly it has to be GOOD!!! This is a bright clean newer building in hippy dippy neighborhood. It's a spot all the locals who are serious about their java come . Been here before and I'm sure I'll return again. read more

Probably the most delicious coffee I've had yet! It's ruined me actually. I'm having a hard time finding another coffee roaster that measures up. My favourite is the Imara espresso. The shop itself is a great spot to come to on the drive. Nice place to sit and watch out the window. They also carry pastries from Thomas Haas so it is a match made in heaven! Definitely is a place I visit more than once a week. I'm addicted! read more

5 stars for this cute coffee shop that I'm obsesssssed with! First things first, their coffee is delicious. Second, I'm obsessed with their brick wall vibes. Strong wifi, so if you're planning to set up shop and get some work done, their wifi is great. The only thing is that they don't have very many tables and outlets, so come with a fully charged computer! Many of their tables are communal, so if you're coming by yourself to study/work, share a table with your neighbours and play nice! They also have a few seats at their "coffee bar", which I'm such a fan of. Their coffee is delicious. My go-to is their vanilla almond milk latte, which is so, so, yummy! They also have delicious croissants that you can snack on - my fave is their pistachio croissant. A must try when you come in! They also sell their coffee in packs for you to enjoy at home. Their baristas are a lot more kind than other baristas I've interacted with on Commercial, so bonus points for them. Good vibes at Moja all around. If you find yourself around Commercial and need a cup of joe, this is your spot! read more

Good size bright and cheery cafe serving up well-balanced espresso shots for your poison of choice on the Drive. Good look & feel of exposed brick walls with high end custom wood and meta work like communal tables and bar top seating geared towards both Singleton laptop users big groups. Lacking is the plush recliners. There are some leather padding bar chairs. Along with all hard surface interiors, this coffee house is quite noisy and does not support quiet time or private conversations. But if one is feeling lonely and want to feel to be amongst people yet not alone, this would be quite the perfect spot. Americano is decent in strength and balanced with a hint of acidity. There are two espresso machines so they could definitely handle any rush volume. The place has non-stop stream of customers while we were there on a Thursday afternoon so could imagine it would be much busier during the mornings rush. Prices are about market rate. Barista and cashier seem overworked and may not be so ready to greet of smiles like Starbucks' ones do. They roast their beans on site (roasting machine takes up most of the working space at the coffee bar. Other nice interior touches are potted plants, warm pendant lighting and wood panel ceiling over coffee bar to add warmth to what could be a very cold and grey interiors on a rainy day in Vancouver. Coffee: 4 Food: 4 Ambience: 4 Service: 4 Wifi: 4 Work Friendly: 3 It's my first time here and I ordered their Medium Drip Coffee, Spinach and Feta Roll, and Cherry Turnover. I loved them all, especially the pastries! The staff were nice and friendly too. I think the only downside is that they only have power outlets by the windows so make sure that if you want to work here, come with a fully charged laptop. read more

Really starting to like this place. One of the most delicious Chai latte, Oat milk available here. "To Die For" Banana Bread is available here along with a good selection of Baked goods. Benches available outside, perfect to and enjoy your coffee, tea and dessert while bathing in the sun. read more
I think the coffee here is good. I had the Americano Misto, and it was satisfying albeit not the best I've had. The space is bright from natural light and is comfortable. However, I thought the sign they posted on the tables was unnecessary & unwelcoming. They say the table is not their cousin the desk; rather, it is a spot to drink (coffee) and socialize with others. This concept is very isolating (consider the paradox) and makes this cafe exclusive instead of inviting. Many coffee connoisseurs frequent cafes to write or read for a couple hours. If this bothers the shop, they could simply suggest not exceeding 2 hours. That's reasonable. A good place for hipsters, indeed. read more
They made a lot of changes to the building. More windows and updated lighting. Kept the bricks and a few features. Welcome to the Drive. I was greeted kindly by the barista. The menu is located on the counter by the register. I usually look up to find the menu. Espresso and mixed caffeinated drinks are available. A few pastries to the left of the counter. Everything looked good. I purchased an Americano today and it was really good. I wasn't a fan before, but the in-store coffee roasting and good brew made me into a fan! read more
Modern, spacious and clean coffee shop located on the busy commercial st. it's a great space for a get together with friends or catching up on work over a good cup of coffee. Located in the centre of the cafe is a big coffee bean roster. When it's in the works, the aromatic smell of fresh beans being roasted surely will hypnotize your senses. We came here for the coffee but more importantly for their pistachio almond croissant but to our dismay, they no longer offer it. Instead they offer hazelnut danish which is equally fluffy and less sweet. Tip: you get a free coffee if you buy a bag of their coffee beans! read more
Hey this place is cute! Rustic modern and beautiful. It's refreshing to get away from the Starbucks rush. It's actually quite busy in here, but it's large, well air conditioned and just plain pleasant. The staff seem friendly and my coffee misto was pretty good! I wish I could have had a croissant, but I'm eating lunch soon. This is a great place to meet up with a friend, read or study ( as a few ppl are doing). They offer thier own coffee for sale if you like as well. read more
