The interior is spacious and well designed. It's a great place to catch up with friends. They also have clean washrooms with a code lock, and they have a self-serve water station. I was pleased to see lovely gluten free pastry and cookie options too! I got a Cortado with whole milk - if you love coffee and have NOT had one, this is the place to do it! I feel a Cortado says it ALL about a coffee shop. It's the purest and most amazing form to taste the quality of the coffee. This Cortado was SOO lovely! Service was quick and straight forward. There's plenty of seating around and the cafe is quite open. I ordered the chai latte which was really good and the lemon loaf was yummy and not too sweet. My partner got the matcha latte which I tasted and we both agreed was quite watery. I wasn't feel coffee on this visit, so I had ordered a genmaicha. Everything was totally great for a cup of tea... but you know what my favourite thing is when drinking tea at these shops? The cafe is a roastery and bakery at the same time. Most of the interior space is dedicated to those two endeavours. Street parking is sparse on Commercial. You may need to park on the side streets and if you are lucky, you can find some 2 free hour parking spots. Seating is interesting: the tables and stools are designed to accomodate the serving bar. There are no outlets for except two we can see by the window. Not the best for work when in need of power source. Plus, they keep the door open so you may be quite cold working there during winter months. We ordered a cappuccino ($4.05) and a small latte ($4.25). Cappuccino ($4.05): 5/5 - approximately 6 oz in size. this place makes the cappuccino dark, strong, and can wake you up from brink of dozing off to fully alert in 60 seconds. The milk and espresso is delicately balanced and you can tell the baristas here are dedicated to their craft. Small Latte ($4.25): 5/5 - approximately 6 oz in size as well. The latte is closer to what we taste in other cafes for a cappuccino - less concentrated on the roast and heavier on the milk. However, this latte is still much more potent than other lattes. Overall: we are 110% awake just sitting here drinking half of the drinks. We will definitely come back again for the roast, the barista, and our straight shot of caffeine (who needs a pre-work out when you have this?) read more

This place is awesome! My sister and I came to this coffee shop after looking for nearby coffee shops and we loved the decor, ambiance and coffee. I definitely am a fan of their circular counter setup and having the roastery right in the coffee shop. I told my sister that I'd love to have my future apartment look similar with the white/black/wooden decor and exposed brick wall. I ordered their soy mocha, which had a good balance between the milk, coffee and chocolate flavors. Definitely one of the better mochas I've had. Most of their customers tend to grab and go, so there's likely tables available for you to sit down at any time of the day. They have their own WiFi network that's free, fast and has a good connection as well. But there is also ShawOpen in the area if their WiFi is down. 5 stars for this cute coffee shop that I'm obsesssssed with! First things first, their coffee is delicious. Second, I'm obsessed with their brick wall vibes. Strong wifi, so if you're planning to set up shop and get some work done, their wifi is great. The only thing is that they don't have very many tables and outlets, so come with a fully charged computer! Many of their tables are communal, so if you're coming by yourself to study/work, share a table with your neighbours and play nice! They also have a few seats at their "coffee bar", which I'm such a fan of. Their coffee is delicious. My go-to is their vanilla almond milk latte, which is so, so, yummy! They also have delicious croissants that you can snack on - my fave is their pistachio croissant. A must try when you come in! They also sell their coffee in packs for you to enjoy at home. Their baristas are a lot more kind than other baristas I've interacted with on Commercial, so bonus points for them. Good vibes at Moja all around. Good size bright and cheery cafe serving up well-balanced espresso shots for your poison of choice on the Drive. Good look & feel of exposed brick walls with high end custom wood and meta work like communal tables and bar top seating geared towards both Singleton laptop users big groups. Lacking is the plush recliners. There are some leather padding bar chairs. Along with all hard surface interiors, this coffee house is quite noisy and does not support quiet time or private conversations. But if one is feeling lonely and want to feel to be amongst people yet not alone, this would be quite the perfect spot. Americano is decent in strength and balanced with a hint of acidity. There are two espresso machines so they could definitely handle any rush volume. The place has non-stop stream of customers while we were there on a Thursday afternoon so could imagine it would be much busier during the mornings rush. Prices are about market rate. Barista and cashier seem overworked and may not be so ready to greet of smiles like Starbucks' ones do. They roast their beans on site (roasting machine takes up most of the working space at the coffee bar. Other nice interior touches are potted plants, warm pendant lighting and wood panel ceiling over coffee bar to add warmth to what could be a very cold and grey interiors on a rainy day in Vancouver. When I'm in the hood, I definitely like to try to grab a coffee at Moja. It manages to be an excellent local centre for coffee. The space is open and large enough that there's usually space to grab a chair or sit up at the bar and look out the window. I usually just have an Americano so can't speak to the other drinks but it's always fine. The best part is the ambience. read more

I visited Moja for the first time to try and get some work done on my laptop. They deftly handle the issue of cafes full of laptop users by asking customers to only use laptops at the bar along the perimeter windows. This seems to work well: people are enjoying each other's company at tables with benches, and computer users are facing outward and not messing with the overall feeling of the place too much. I had a Thomas Haas cherry turnover. It was still warm from the oven, and the warm plate it was served on was a nice touch. Bathrooms are clean, and baristas were above-average charismatic on a continuum of barista charisma. I think the coffee here is good. I had the Americano Misto, and it was satisfying albeit not the best I've had. The space is bright from natural light and is comfortable. However, I thought the sign they posted on the tables was unnecessary & unwelcoming. They say the table is not their cousin the desk; rather, it is a spot to drink (coffee) and socialize with others. This concept is very isolating (consider the paradox) and makes this cafe exclusive instead of inviting. Many coffee connoisseurs frequent cafes to write or read for a couple hours. If this bothers the shop, they could simply suggest not exceeding 2 hours. That's reasonable. A good place for hipsters, indeed. read more

Tried an oat milk latte for the first time --- didn't quite taste anything (oats are a pretty mild flavor so Im not sure what I was expecting haha) so I will stick with soy/almond milk next time!! The espresso here was super delicious though, not too bitter but still very fragrant. and I really like the vibes in this very vancouver-esque coffeeshop. Nice, simple clean aesthetic.
