    Raspberry jam marizotto, latte

Forgot to review this place after I had a lovely stop here last summer. The barista (I did not get his name at the time but I assume he was the famous Simone) was very personable and made me an excellent decaf latte. Very pure flavour. I also got a raspberry jam maritozzo (Italian brioche bun filled with cream). The cream was nice and light and not too sweet, so this was a very refreshing snack to go with my drink.

Amazing coffee!!! You can tell by the decor and the barista that they really know what they are doing. The coffee is delicious, the cups are high quality, and the shop is really cute and nice. I highly recommend!

Was intrigued by this extremely highly rated coffee shop and I now understand the hype. They didn't have many pastries remaining when I visited but the Italian espresso was authentic and flavourful. Server was nice and ambiance was cozy.

Previously located in Mount Pleasant, this coffee shop moved to this new location on Pender two months ago. The owner was chatty and passionate about coffee. Seating is limited but we grabbed a seat by the window, I liked the cozy vibes. They roast their own beans and the cortado was a nice afternoon pick-me-up. There's a self-serve water station by the entrance.

This time was no different. Their roast works so well with milk-based drinks, having a strong enough body without being too bitter or acidic. This was my first time trying their breakfast menu, and I enjoyed the custom breakfast sandwich. Food came out fairly quickly, making it a good spot for those on-the-go.

Something pulled me toward JJ Bean....and with it being a local business it made it even a sweeter deal. I like my coffee strong, black, piping hot and served in a quality cup. So, I just keep it simple. Large Dark Roast with an Everything Bagel, which really hit the spot. The bagel was fresh, tasty and definitely a favourite. Their Rhubarb Danish took me back to my childhood in Switzerland, as it was a homemade family regular. The carefully blended sweet and sour rhubarb weaved into the perfectly baked pastry finished with toasted almonds. All of that...followed by a sip of what I can only rightly name as a cup of exquisite ground beans with character....... Yeah....I want my coffee to have character. Yup JJ. You most certainly have my attention.

For those reading my other reviews, the basics are my baselining tool when trying a new place. The latte was as good as I've had them. The roast used was slightly acidic, fruity (to me) and had a little pleasant lingering palate. It like to sit with my drinks and take them slowly and this one was enjoyable to the last sip. The scone was excellent. The cheesy crisp was perfect. and texture was light but firm. The ambiance was extremely comfortable. The table layout alone is worth the stop. I would love to bring five friends for stop here. I LOVE the seating configurations. So many ways to use a fixed seating layout. It was quiet when I stopped by, and I hope these guys are far more busy the rest of the time. Gems like these deserve to be packed.
