mango croffle
Isabel C.

A few weeks ago, some friends and I decided to try out Milky Snow Café in Steveston. I liked the concept of a Korean dessert café with savoury and sweet snacks/drinks. The space is well-decorated and gives a clean but cozy vibe. The workers there were very kind and patient as we struggled to make choices on what to order. We opted for some sweet desserts like the mango croffle and the bungeoppang (basically Korean version of taiyaki) and some kimbap. Prices were average and the items were made to order so we waited patiently at the table. The mango croffle was good - not too sweet! The kimbap was also quite delicious and filled with various ingredients. Unfortunately, our experience fell flat with the bungeoppang as when they arrived only 2 of them were hot the rest of them were cold (not even room temp). The worker mentioned there would be a delay with receiving them because we ordered 3 different flavours (nutella, red bean, and custard). I can understand the wait and if there were various temperatures of warmth but cold to the touch...I'm not too sure. Overall, I like the idea of a Korean snack café where you can enjoy various guilty eats but the execution and quality control might need to be worked on.

B&P Ice-Cream @ Steveston! Happy National Ice Cream Day!…read more Small double $4.50 after tax Got raspberry cheesecake again (10/10) I loved how many ripples of raspberry I got this time! Delicious and would recommend Shark Bite (9/10) - blue raspberry and shark-grey vanilla ice cream with raspberry ribbon! Delicious and it will stain your teeth. I found this more artificially sweet since it's blue raspberry. I prefer the raspberry cheesecake because it's more creamy and tastes like cheesecake! The workers are so sweet and allowed me to have multiple samples! If you're indecisive - I would recommend trying it out! The prices are so cheap and it's a great portion! The iconic fellow Vancouverite Kevin Moon said "I feel as useful as the p in raspberry"

They have a vast menu of Canadian brand ice cream flavours by Island Farms judging from the signs inside. They also have Italian Gelato, sugar free ice cream not to mention sundaes in eggette bubble waffles and bubble tea and coffees! Last week my husband tried their durian ice cream and he really enjoyed its deep flavor profile. Meanwhile my son & I found that flavour quite revolting. My husband and I each ordered a regular scoop of the Mango Supreme on a waffle cone. Good value for $5.50 incl GST. Our son ordered a double scoop of Rocky Raspberry & Chocolate Peanut Butter on a waffle cone for $6.50!! The four ice cream flavors were as good as you would expect from a Canadian dairy maker. The interior of the cafe has some seating inside with more picnic benches outside. This ice cream shop invites further visits for us to try their bubble waffle sundaes and cold coffees. This cafe is two doors away from Sally's. It delivers in value and variety so we'll give the other items a try soon.

This place is a charming cafe located in Friday Harbor…read more The food and drinks here were absolutely spectacular. We ordered a few lattes made with their in-house syrups, and every single one of them was incredible. We loved them so much we went back for them again and again over the weekend we were there. We also tried their chorizo burrito and donuts, which were both outstanding. I honestly want to go back to the island just to eat here again! The ambiance of the place is awesome. It is super kid-friendly outside, featuring a wonderful yard with plenty of toys and things to do, which makes it incredibly relaxing for families. To top it all off, the staff was incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visits. I highly, highly recommend checking out Medio Cafe if you are anywhere near the San Juan Islands. It was so good, and it's an absolute must-visit spot that we will definitely keep coming back to!

They accidentally put the hashbrowns within the sandwich. Instantly, one of the staff members tried to rectify it and give me extra hashbrowns no charge. I absolutely appreciate that, and declined as it wasn't a huge deal. The sandwich was delicious! I enjoyed my lavender matcha (albeit I think next time I'll make it a little sweeter). The restaurant is walkable from Friday Harbor. We went straight there right after we got off the ferry. There's also a cute little patio to sit on. What a great time!
