Purchased a 7-ingredient build your own large pie with all vegan ingredients. Received a pie with burnt crust, barely any vegan cheese, no artichokes (the first of 7 selected toppings), and a non-ordered pepperoni. Normally I would forgive the rogue meat-stick byproduct, but I selected the "glove change request" option, which I never would have thought to request, but figured, "why not?," since it was an option provided. I couldn't help but think the pepperoni was an f-you from the cook. I hope that isn't the case, but will always wonder.

I have been coming to Blaze Pizza in Monroeville since their opening in 2016 and I have updated my reviews for this establishment more than any other mainly because of inconsistencies and changes not on the good side. In the beginning, management's presence was more apparent and present. Staff walked around to check on customers, the place was kept tidy, staff smiled and engaged with the customer. Since opening, the changes have been: * Elimination of turkey meatballs * Elimination of roasted garlic, replaced by raw garlic that doesn't cook up the same * Much greasier pizza (i always get spicy red sauce with pesto drizzled on top) * Prices go up regularly starting at 7 something for build your own to 11.95 as of this post * They charge $1 extra for extra protein. Mind you i only get 1 option, a meatball, for my protein on a build your own. I selected 2 meatballs snd now get charged an extra $1 so my pizza is 12.95. How does this make sense? In other words, if i select one each of proteins offered, that is ok and no extra charge but select only 2 meatballs and I have to pay extra. Note they tried this once before and quickly rescinded this policy. * The cleanliness of the interior and exterior has been on the decline for ages. * In the beginning there were signs touting 90 second turnaround for pizzas cooking in the oven. That pretty much quickly disappeared. I used to love coming here for the price, offerings, taste, cleanliness, and friendly staff. That's all pretty much disappeared.

I remember when this location was a Long John Silver's. I was a bit bitter when it closed and sat empty for a while and then taken over with this. I didn't want to stop in here for a very long time. But with being out with family recently and they wanting pizza, we came here. I knew the concept of this place, basically Subway/Chipotle for pizza. I didn't know the menu at all, and it can be a bit intimidating when it is your first visit here. Lucky for us there were a few people in line in front of us and that allowed for us to look over the menu a bit more. When I got to the counter to order I was set to go. I wanted to start with the Cheesy Pesto Garlic Bread and for the main event I went with a pizza with pepperoni and sausage. The thing I like about this model is that it's not a computer screen where you are typing it in and adding/subtracting. Instead you can see them make it in front of you. Asking if you want this or that and the amount of any particular ingredient. Right before the pizza is ready and goes into the oven they will ask you if you want to add anything else. The only thing I could think was to add oregano. Here is where they have a little bit of a hiccup in the system. When you order, and if you order multiple things that go in the oven, they are usually written down together so that your order goes through the line. But when it is pulled out of the oven, it doesn't always mean that it is all together. Couple that with the person pulling out the pizzas isn't the loudest person calling your name. My cheesy bread came out first and I heard my name for that. However, when my pizza was ready I did not hear my name. I think it may have sat there for a good minute before they even thought to call my name. In the end, I got my pizza, so all was good. The freshest pizza I have had in a long time. I know it's a chain, but they are doing some impressive things. They have sprinkling agents for your choosing. I went with the grated parm, my dad went with the hot pepper flakes. Obviously it was way too much to order so I ended up taking more than half of it home with me. It wasn't bad the second time around either. A little gripe I have here is they are absolutely straw free. That's is all great, but if you are going to give cups with lids that have openings for drinking, maybe have them behind the counter instead of out for everyone to grab.

I have no complaints about this Blaze Pizza location! We stopped in after a family party in Monroeville and were excited to see they were open. I haven't been over this way in a while, but remember this used to be a Long John Silvers. There were a few customers in line, but the employees were super efficient at keeping everyone moving. I love that you can add as many toppings as you want for no extra charge. I love the fresh mozzarella and ricotta! I added all of the veggies and arugula on top after they cook it. Everyone was nice and the pizza was great! I think it's about $11 total and was 2 meals for me.

Ive been to Blaze pizzas all over the country. This is the worst. Horrible customer service. They advertise a build your own pizza then charge you extra for the portions. The manager was the worst Ive ever seen in any business. She litterally counted the pepperoni on my build your own pizza then charge $3 for more then 8 pieces. Then made a huge seen and told me she would just throw my pizzas in the trash. Then started yelling at me. This was complete discrimination. Misleading customers then charging them for things not advertised. So can get a build your own pizza and get a portion of every single topping with no extra charge but if I get a build your own with pepperoni and sausage and want more pepperoni then they charge extra for getting more then 8 pieces of pepperoni. This is discrimination on pizza lovers all over the world. This location should not be representing the Blaze name. Worst experience ever.

The pizzas are good. They're made to order with the toppings of your choosing. It's one price, whether you want three toppings or ten. It doesn't matter if you want vegan, gluten free, or all meat, they can make it. They also have salads and desserts. The only reason I knocked it down a star was because it took forever to get waited on. We were just about to leave when someone finally came over. There was a guy at the pizza oven, a woman at the register, and another woman on the phone. The place was pretty dead, so other than the woman on the phone, the crew were just standing around, so not sure why no one could come and help us.

Blaze is an amazing place to eat! They use fresh ingredients and cater to your allergies. Gluten free? It's okay! There's a crust and glove change for that! Like to load your pizza with all of the toppings? It's still a flat price. Blaze is the perfect choice for anyone who likes their food their way. I go there as often as possible. read more

I love Blaze Pizza and have dined in and ordered out more times than I care to admit. I load up my pizza with all of the vegetables it can handle, roasted garlic, and top it off with spinach after it comes out of the oven. Yes, it's a bit soggy toward the middle of the pizza but if they left it in the oven much longer the crust would just burn. The place seems like it's managed well and there's always enough staff on hand to make the line go pretty quick. The staff is always helpful in making suggestions and taking the time to make sure that you know what/how to order. I've downloaded the Blaze app and can say that I'm not too pleased about its operation. I'm missing flames that should've been added and have not received a response from corporate when I emailed them regarding this issue. I also don't like that you can't add a gift card to the payment options within the app. On the flip side, Blaze does add promotions to your app fairly often. For about eight bucks you can get your customized pizza which may or may not be leftover for lunch the next day. read more

Great place for groups, family night or a date night. Friday nights always a full house. Lunch time and late Saturday's less of a crowd. It's a build your own and choose an option from the menus. All pies are under $8. The lemonade (various options) is a great alternative to the soda fountain machine. They also have milk and water. I'm falling in love with this place! Decent fast food pizza. Better than a Pizza Hut or Dominos but not sure that is saying a ton. Very kid friendly as the pizzas are customizable to whatever the kids want. Decent variety of toppings and they basically use a thin crust which I prefer. Affordable, which you expect for this kind of place. I am a west coaster not sure how widespread this franchise is, but I would return if I am back in town and needed a quick pizza fix to take back to my hotel room. read more

Wow. I'm without words. Maybe it was because I went in with absolutely zero expectations, but this place delivered. The pizza was fast but extremely delicious. It cooks in 3 minutes and with a drink it comes to $9.00. There are a ton of toppings to choose from if that's your style. I'll be back for sure. read more

Excellent experience on one of their opening days. Every team member that I interacted with was pleasant and seemed excited to be working at Blaze. The line was long but moved quickly. As we got inside we were surprised with how spacious it was. Plenty of seating at high top and regular tables. Coke products?? YES. Also, their iced tea was strong and not weak. The beverage choices and quality is so often overlooked here in Pittsburgh. Pepsi? No thanks!!! Ok, and so you are probably wondering about the reason to come here ... the pizza. I was really impressed with it - I tried the Green Stripe, which was a chicken and mozzarella pizza with a pesto drizzle. I thought my crust was cooked perfectly, which meant that the bottom was browned and some patches of char in places. I didn't try any of the salads or the S'mores Pie dessert but they all looked good too. Finally, in terms of value I think that Blaze hits a home run. Two people could easily split one pizza without leftovers and pair it with a salad and you would have a great meal at an affordable price. So a balanced review is nothing without some helpful criticism, right? I am struggling to come up with anything so I'll say that I wouldn't have minded more pesto on my pizza but I bet I could ask for some the next time. Also, I tried a "high rise" which doubles the amount of dough. This was perfectly fine and tasty but I think I would have enjoyed my pizza even more if I had stuck with the traditional (thinner) crust. For anyone with sensitivities they offer gluten-free crusts as well for an additional fee. I am looking forward to a return visit - there is plenty of parking, which is great! read more

We are always looking for a quick, decent meal that isn't fried or traditional fast food. We've been to Blaze three time and each time the service and food is consistently great. The manager is really working hard to establish a rapport with the customers. We were asked if this is our first time at Blaze and each member of the line greeted us by name as we went through. The toppings are fresh and plentiful, and there's a great deal of variety. The employees are mostly young students which is great for the community. Will definitely be back...great option for the price! read more

This is about the only pizza in Pitt I like. I've ordered several times and it is always great. Love the large selection of toppings, which are always fresh. Not sure what peppers they use (i think standard bell?) But they taste amazingly fresh. read more

Staff is complete overwhelmed and disorganized. They cannot handle taking online and in person orders. It didn't help that one person was responsible for getting both started on the line. Got there, waited my turn in line, then waited at least 10 min after I was next up without being able to place my order. Just left, instead. Good food is useless if I can't order it in at least a semi-efficient manner. read more

It was fine. I actually went there on their opening day. It was interesting to try something a little different, but I definitely feel like you're not getting enough for your money. As somebody who is a fan of well-built, Hardy pizzas this place definitely fell short. I realized that the super thin and crunchy crust is kind of their signature but at the end of the day for how much money you're spending you should be getting more food. I would most likely eat there again... I definitely would not go out of my way to get some of their food. read more

Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. We shared a fresh salad and dressing was homemade. I love all the pizza choices. I get the red Vine. The crust was nice and thin. I've been here a few times in the past, and always have been greeted promptly by a friendly cashier. I generally get the build-your-own option that allows almost unlimited toppings. I like a pizza loaded up. The toppings always seem fresh, and they have only once been out of an ingredient I wanted. The oven firing keeps things moving, and you're not waiting too long. 5 stars so far. Unfortunately, it gets a star knocked off because of how they really try to give VERY skimpy servings of toppings. Half a ladle of sauce. "More, please". Another half. "More, please". Pepperoni. 6 little slices. "More, please". 6 more. "More, please". They've even started peeling individual leaves when I asked for artichoke hearts!! OMG, Give me the whole heart with all of its leaves!! I get REALLY tired of *constantly* asking for "More, please" that it seriously prevents me from being there more often. I get that topping control is needed when you have 8-10 people being paid to assembly line making one pizza, but the pizza biz is a very high margin industry. Control is one thing, but being cheap is out of control. read more

Here's the short of it: for less than 10$ (or about 10$ for gluten free or thick crust) you can get the pizza you want with the toppings you want with no extra fees if you want extras or more than two toppings or whatever else the other companies charge. read more

This is a really neat place to go to get a pizza. They have gourmet ingredients and you can add any ingredient you want. You go through the line and tell them what you want on your pie. They have different sauces and a variety of cheeses, along with veggies and meats. Then they put it in the oven and fire it for you. Its done quick and fast and tastes great. read more

Black in the Hat on ya screen, or in your screen. Went to this place a couple months back, because they sent out free pizza coupons. Think of it as the pizza version of subway, but with better toppings. Service is fast and I got just what I wanted on my pizza. Place was actually pretty dope! If your near I would say give it a try. I also had a goat cheese and beet salad.... not usually something I would eat...... but it was delicious!!!! Blaze: One for the dude in the background, doing the running man with his pants down! Great fast causal pizza place. I LOVE that they have vegan cheese for no extra cost. Tons of veggies as well and buffalo sauce I've been to blazes all over the country and this one seems to be a bit chaotic. Always very busy and crowded and the staff wasn't as nice or patience as I would hope. They also cross contaminant all of the food with the sloppy grabs of the toppings. Still giving 5 stars cause I love the vegan pizza. read more

The white top pizza is the best. I also like how you can add additional topping if desired. I appreciate how the menu also list the calorie count for those of us that need to keep track of our caloric intake. The staff is fast and friendly. We'll be back soon! read more

Haven't been there before, but can just tell that the cooks are amazing but the managers are rude and disrespectful to their employees and are not paying attention to their needs. Management deserves to have their cars beaten in with rocks or a small child and rolled into the Allegheny, it's not that hard we just need like three people to do one car and then we can learn from our mistakes for the second car, again haven't been there and don't want to cause of management, and my pizza was only okay. read more
