    Chicken Chimichangas Dinner
    Jessica A.

Quickly becoming my favorite local Mexican restaurant! This place was hopping on Friday night. We were seated quickly, & the chips and salsa were served to our table. We ordered our drinks and dinner. My meal was served quickly, but the server misunderstood my friend's order so she had to wait a bit, but the staff was apologetic and refilled our cheese dip for free. I had the chicken chimichanga and a delicious strawberry margarita. Great place!

No notes. This place is top tier. Food is always hot and flavorful. Their chips and salsa is amazing. Not to mention their table side guac has improved tremendously since opening last year. Service is quick and always attentive, and ambiance is relaxing and almost cozy.

I went with my sister and we sat at the bar! It was a Friday so margaritas flights were 50% off! I got the burrito fajitas and they were delicious!! My sister got the quesabirria and she really liked it. We also got taquitos and I loved that they gave chicken and beef. The service was great!

Upon entering I was impressed with the modern decor and cleanliness. Large restaurant , well lit and playing upbeat Latin music make you feel like you are at a fiesta. Food was very good from the free chips and salsa to our entrees. My husband loves seafood enchiladas and he tried theirs. Not the absolute best he's had, but he ate the whole plate clean! He said they lacked in flavor compared to his favorite place. My entree was the Burrito Texano ( lunch portion). It was delicious with grilled chicken, steak and shrimp fillings. A drizzle of mango over chipotle cream sauce was a sweet note and added a pretty touch to the dish. Service was wonderful and very quick.

Dined in for lunch and let me just say the restaurant is so pretty. It's so bright, airy and open! Our service was amazing we didn't wait long for anything and they staff checked on us multiple times throughout our visit. We started with a delicious margarita and I tried meals from the lunch menu which were great and filling. Would definitely return!

Brand New Mexican restaurant located on Northern Pike in Monroeville. (The old Kings restaurant) Ample parking. Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine! Chips and salsa delivered as e were greeted. Beautiful and clean restaurant! Great atmosphere. Friendly and attentive service. Nice selection of Mexican draft beers. Food came out fast and piping hot. Daily specials. Nice and affordable lunch specials along with daily drink specials. Highly recommended! Looking forward to our next visit! A+++++

I came to the new Plaza Azteca in Monroeville that was recently put in a building that once held a King's. I really like the upgrades. The restaurant has a modern Mexican feel to it. It is also way bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The menu is also massive. I had trouble picking something with all the choices. The service was really good. I called ahead and reserved a table. From that call to the hostess, to the server. Everyone was friendly and helpful My wife went with the Barria Tacos and I enjoyed the Chimichanga dinner. Everything was really good.

First time here. Very yummy. Staff is very welcoming! We sat at the bar and had great service. Restaurant is clean with fun music playing. I had the Taco lunch with rice and beans and my husband had the Ribeye tacos. We did a little split and both were very yummy.

Came for a work event with a large group of 20+. They did a great job taking orders and drinks. Food came out surprisingly fast for a big group and I think everyone got their food correctly. I tried the quesabrilla and it was pretty good. Nice fresh tasting wrapping and tender meat inside. Great experience overall.

We were excited to try this newly opened Mexican restaurant. Alas, we did not have a good experience. It's an old King's restaurant that they remodeled, quite nicely. They have great looking bar. The drafts were served in chilled glasses which was a nice touch. We ordered the table side guacamole and got to watch them make it. It was a little bland but the chips and complimentary salsa were good. I ordered fish tacos. I'm not sure the fish was cooked properly and they were served with an overly sweet slaw that just overpowered the whole thing. My date had a chimichanga and he expected it to be crispy which it was not. It also lacked flavor. Disappointing. There are better options

We had a birthday dinner here on a Friday evening at 7pm. I made reservations for 15 people with no issue. We were greeted and seated after about 5-7 min so they could set our table up. Our server Adriana and she was AMAZING!! She served us effectively and effortlessly. Our party came at different times and she was able to speak with each person and get their drink order in, and served very quickly. She helped the food runner deliver our food and made sure we had everything we needed. I love the setup of the restaurant and the decor. I do wish they would dim the lights during dinner service but it made for great photos! We obviously had a whole host of items from the menu. These are just a few of what I was close enough to taste. I ordered the Torta Ahogada Birria. Which is essentially a Birria sandwich. It was so so good! The consume was one of the best I've had. I also had a bite of different types of nachos. They were perfect!! Chips were perfect; toppings were fresh! The only let down were the Pina Loca. The dish was not served with chunks of pineapple, I think that would elevate this dish. It was served in one but cleaned out so well you could not scrape anymore to get a bite. Also, it was rather dry. It was supposed to be topped with queso but was just a slight drizzle. The burritos were also really good. And the best part of dinner were the margaritas. I ordered a flight. Which are half off on Fridays! The margaritas were perfectly made! They were not stingy with the alcohol either. We all had an amazing time and can't wait to return! Adriana was the goat!!

The interior has an overall modern feel and tables are well spaced out so you don't feel overcrowded. Portions are generally really large (which is great, because food is pretty pricey). I've been able to make two or three meals out of one entree here. Overall, service is pretty good but can be hit or miss. There was one day that I think they must have been having an off night because everyone seemed crazy stressed and very short with us when questions were asked. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the side salad was. It was a great balance/mix of ingredients with delicious dressing. My main entree (Strozzapretti) was tasty but a bit seemed like there was a bit too much grease/oil or something that made the dish seem heavier than it needed to be. In general, a tasty place but could improve if service was more consistent.

Circling the small parking lot looking for your spot, reminiscing on the alumni sports team photos on the walls, and doing the twist in the entryway to navigate your way to your takeout, Gateway Grill is not much... but the food is usually fire!!! The pizza slices have big bubbling crusts with pepperoni so rustic cut that you will wonder if they accidentally gave you the whole piece... over and over again. Don't sleep on their meatball pizza. Because you will have basically full size meatballs for every slice... and they are delightful. We had family in and bought a large order - and we opted to try their sandwiches. The Chuck Roast sandwich and Turkey Rachel both sounded delicious... and Gateway Grill does have fresh smoked meats too! Takeout is a trip. In a full restaurant, you have to kinda stand in the way at the front counter and flag down someone to grab your order. But they definitely do a lot of to-go pizzas so you'll be able to handle it. Unfortunately, with their current to-go containers, the sandwiches ended up being sopping wet with condensation... the bottom toasted bread on both was basically dripping instead of crunchy. The fries had lost all texture too- air fryer to the rescue. I'd still recommend going - just stick to only pizza when ordering takeout until they find a way to ensure quality of other options.

First impression was that the color scheme, decorations, and menu all seemed to be dated and uninspired. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the salad and Salmon Oscar. My girlfriend got the wedge salad which I think was a bit expensive since it was a $6 up charge for a wedge of iceberg lettuce from the standard salad that came with the entrees. My Salmon Oscar with asparagus was very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon and crab. My daughter's chicken parm came with a ton of linguini. My wedding soup and my husband's French onion soup were delicious. The wedding soup was loaded with meatballs and chicken. My husband has a thing for French onion soup and tries it every chance he gets. He said this may have been the best ever. We split a Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. The waitress brought us each a half portion so we didn't have to divide it ourselves, which was nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, making it acceptable, not great but good enough. Onion rings were very good. Dessert sounded tempting, a cherry crème brûlée. It was okay, kind of like cherry jello with a sugar crust on top. A bit disappointing to say the least. Our waitress was on top of filling the water glasses and was very nice. Now for the bad news and why I'm only giving 3 stars. I went to the ladies room before eating and there was no hot water to wash my hands. I asked my husband if the men's room had hot water and he said no. We both let it run but it never got hot, not even warm. Then I noticed (after drinking several glasses of water unfortunately) that there was a crack in my water glass. I mentioned it to my husband and he said, "you should see the chips in the glass tabletop over her on my side". I get it that wear and tear happens, but these things should be caught before serving guests. And as far as the hot water...how do servers and kitchen workers properly clean their hands after using the toilet without hot water? So the food is fairly solid and reasonably priced. But be on the lookout for chipped glassware and table tops. And use your own hand sanitizer if you have it!
