Perfect spot for a dinner outside on a warm night! Friendly staff. Quick service, and yummy drinks and food. Being seated and immediately served with chips and salsa is my kind of place!

The worst. Whenever I go to a new Mexican restaurant, I like to order a chili relleno. This restaurant's chili relleno was two green bell peppers, with ground beef, drizzled with cheese. Not the kind of chili relleno that I've ever had before but I wanted to give it a try. It did not taste good.... Bland beef and waxy cheese. When I asked about how this was not the chili relleno that I was expecting, a server that was not ours, said that this was a traditional recipe from the owner's family and that she herself was Mexican so she knew what it should be. This recipe may be a family tradition but it was executed poorly. It just wasn't a chili relleno.... And the mole was too salty to eat

This El Camposino location was unfamiliar to me, however I've been to the McKnight Rd restaurant many times. The service was very good, as we were seated and served promptly. The menu features lots of choices, with lots of good values on the lunch menu. The food is good and the portions are large. Parking is convenient.

Bad food. Quick service, nice servers, but, damn! Isn't Mexican food supposed to be flavorful? I got one of the vegetarian meals and it was completely bland. I regret going there. I don't eat out often, so this was a real disappointment. Do not recommend.

I usually would go to the El Campesino in Monroeville, but the one in Homestead is far more better. The size and feel of the place is a lot more laid back and fun. I just came here on Friday to meet a friend for dinner. For one, the service is EXCEPTIONAL. The prices are fairly decent. The complimentary chips and salsa are well-appreciated. The food is delicious and well-prepared. Def a must for authentic Mexican food !!!!!

    Fun entrance.

It's in a great location! The Waterfront is a beautiful and remarkable entertainment/dining/shopping experience. This is near the movie theater within the complex. Everyone was hustling, the place was bustling ... we had confidence in our choice to come here. The inside has piñatas suspended from the ceiling and very basic, rustic decor. I'm from the West Coast and probably eat Mexican four times a week. For Pittsburgh, by far it was the closest to salsa vs ketchup that I could find in town. The cheese dip also was a success. Major love goes to their chicken fajita quesadillas. They didn't skimp and it had quality veggies which is always appreciated. Gustavo C was a rockstar as a server; always knew when to stop by, everything was accurate and he always had a smile. Also super affordable. Quesadilla was less than seven dollars and cheese dip only five. Mind blown! I will definitely return here when in town!

This place was a life saver as I was so hungry, and in an unfamiliar city. Located in Homestead, just outside of Pittsburgh in this neat shopping area called The Waterfront. Parking was easy and outside there was this cool art. Walking in I waited a bit to be seated and the restaurant appeared to be understaffed but it was OK. I was going for TACOS! I started with some Nachos with salsa and then moved on to the Tacos Al Pastor for the meal. The three pork tacos were served in corn tortillas with chopped cilantro, onions and delicious pineapple. It also came with with rice and beans. Everything was really good. Server was nice but the critiques would be that service was slow across the board and no salt or extra napkins for messy eaters. All in all, a good visit and I would recommend the restaurant and especially the location. Make sure to check out more of the outdoor Waterfront shopping area.

Looking for Mexican food that's very salty and reminds me of fast food well you've come to the right place as that's exactly what I experienced here! So let's start by saying our service was terrible I'm not sure if our server was overwhelmed with tables or if he was having a bad day but wow his energy, attitude, and whole demeanor was very very negative like almost toxic levels of bad energy throughout our experience with him I get it your understaffed like everyone else is but you don't show that to the guests I work in the service industry and even when things are bad you keep your composure especially when serving as I'm sure that's where the bulk of your pay comes from. So when it came time to order I went with one of the combo plates as it sounded good but I was totally wrong as what I ended up with was a burrito, enchilada, and a stuffed bell pepper all with the same overly salty ground beef like this meat was comparable to what you'd find at a fast food chain it was that bad. My burrito was just stuffed with it needless to say I didn't finish it my enchilada that was supposed to be cheese was also stuffed with it with no cheese to be found whatsoever and that stuffed bell pepper I didn't even eat because I hate bell peppers they are the worst out of the pepper family. So when our server came back I asked him is this what you guys call a Chili Relleno he said oh we have a poblano one too I said can I have that one instead and he said sure and went to get it for me and a few minutes later he came back like it couldn't have been more than two minutes tell he came back which I thought was kinda strange as it would take at least a few minutes to make it especially with how long we waited for our food before which had to have been at least 20min or so. Once he came back with the Chili Relleno I cut into it only to find that it was Luke warm like it had been sitting for a while which totally sucked because this was the only thing that I was presented with that was actually some what good had it been warm the way it should be I doubt I'd be as disappointed. So after all that disappointing food my friend and I both felt the same way our food was salty and terrible our service was horribly toxic and the best part of our meal was the chips and salsa and even that was mediocre at best! Overall salty terrible cold food horrible service with an attitude and a stuffed bell pepper that's being played off as a Chili Relleno making for one not so great experience all around so do yourself a favor and don't come here unless your looking for food like that.

Quick and convenient Mexican dinner place at the waterfront! After grocery and otherwise shopping came in because we were starving. We were seated promptly during a busy Friday evening, and quickly brought chips and salsa. Our waitress came around quickly and was helpful and often refilled drinks. It felt like only 10 minutes or so before our food arrived and it was good! Lots of good cheese and the beef was well-seasoned and tasty. Overall fast and friendly service, good food and reasonable prices! Would recommend

First time at this location in Homestead ! I was so pleasantly surprised and will return often. The server was pleasant and helpful. The food was hot and delicious. I enjoyed the chicken fajita and the Mexican refried beans and rice! The space was clean and friendly. The lunch was great. The quesadillas was full of yummy shredded chicken and cheese. I highly recommend!! The front door is not as hard to find it's just a quick walk around. Enjoy !!!

Ambiance Inside was nicely decorated and tables were very spaced out. We got a big comfy booth. I liked it. The A/C was amazing. I hate eating when it feels hot or stuffy. They even had the doors open to access the patio and it was still nice and cold inside. There were probably about 5-6 other tables eating when we walked in and I liked that they spaced us out instead of squishing us all in one area. Food: Chips and salsa were a nice touch. The salsa was on the mild side, a lot of flavor but not spicy for me but my kid wouldn't eat it. So we ordered him a side of cheese dip. Came out piping hot. Very yummy. He loved it. A little pricey, $5.25 for a half but he liked it so much it makes it worth it. We ordered a kid's Quesadilla and rice. Portion wise it was huge for a kids meal. I got the beef burrito with rice and beans lunch special. A little salty for me but once I mixed with the rice and beans it was good. My friend for a lunch fajitas with beef/chicken/shrimp. Portion wise it looked small but she finished it and felt full, so no complaints. Service: This is where it all goes down hill. The man that seated us was very happy/friendly. There was also young guy that brought out or chips and salsa, he was nice. BUT our waitress (Alyssa L as stated on the receipt) was friendly taking our order. But she never once filled our water and food was pretty salty. We finished our meal and she was no where in site. I forgot I had pre-ordered the churro for dessert, so when she brought it out I asked her for the check and boxes Togo. She proceeded to take away the empty plates and stacked them, and I was a little taken back when she put all the empty dishes on half of my burrito that I hadn't finished and was planning to take away. I let it go and didn't make a fuss because because it was a little salty and chalked it up to a simple mistake. When she came back around with the check, she just took my card off the table and didn't wait for me to look over the receipt or anything. (I was busy packing my kids leftovers). She then left the receipt to sign. I looked over the bill and noticed there was a 20% gratuity pre-charged. She was no where in site, so I asked another man if this was normal. We only had 2 adults and a kid in our table. As we waited for him to fix it, my friend saw them talking back and forth in the corner. He came back with a new total and apologized for her, but she never once came back to us. I would like to think she just made another mistake, but my friend thinks it was deliberate based off how they were talking in the corner. I ended up giving her a $5 tip anyways even though we left feeling unhappy. Overall, I likely won't come back to this location. Luckily if I'm in the mood for El Campesino, there are other locations that I can go to where we've had a great experience. We've never had this problem before so it's such a shame one bad experience ruins it for this location.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food at the waterfront definitely stop here! When the weather is nice, we like to sit outside on the patio. They have daily specials and also happy hour specials, their website lists out what the deals are. We like that on Tuesdays they have 3 tacos for $4.99. The queso is so melty and cheesy, a perfect appetizer to share. The combination platters are a great way to sample the menu, they come with a variety of options to choose from. The carne asada tacos are delicious, love that they are loaded up with cilantro and onion. The shrimp tacos are also good but I was expecting to get whole shrimp, these were chopped up.

My girlfriend's espresso martini was stiff and flavorless. The tostado de atún & flauta de tinga were both good. The problems started after our apps. We waited quite some time before the bartenders asked us what we wanted for an entree. For a period of time our waters were empty. Our dinners came out and the birria was okay but not great, kind of a watered down broth with an aftertaste of spice. The gringa al pastor tacos were good. The pollo rostizado was too messy to want to eat in a restaurant. The bar lighting was also so dim that my friend didn't realize the color difference to realize what was salsa vs black beans. We then waited at least fifteen minutes after our meals were finished if we wanted dessert. There were two bartenders that didn't seem to communicate at all so one asked us if we needed anything else after we were waiting 10+ minutes for our desserts already. The desserts - flan & tamal de cacao - were fine. The flan was thicker & creamier than most, which I preferred and had a strong caramel taste if that's your thing. The mousse was airy but the tamal was 99% corn and 1% chocolate flavoring.
