Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine and atmosphere. Located on Route 22 in the Jonnet Plaza. Great and quick service. As soon as we sat down at the bar. Our server was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Excellent lunch time menu with great prices and portions. Food came out hot and fast. Delicious flavor, easy to tell fresh ingredients were used. Had both red and green hot sauces. Rice and beans were tasty and cooked perfectly. Nice size parking lot in the plaza. The front could use some fresh paint. Looks a little weathered. Not sure what a few things were on the menu but our server did explain them well. I'm willing to give em a try on the next visit. The Modelo on tap was cold and tasty. The margarita was perfect. Great balance of flavors. Highly recommended. Looking forward to our next visit to the local cantina. Yumm....

I can't say it was a bad experience we have wanted to try something new. It was lunch time and the potion was small but filling. I really liked the chimichanga - chicken I have always loved the re-fried beans and the rice. Give it a try ! I do recommend the monroeville location. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly - the hot chips are GREAT !

    Nacho supreme

The nacho supreme chips tasted artificial and gross, my homeboy mauled them though. The waiters were nice. Do not come here.

We came here for a bite to eat and some drinks. When we walked in. It looked so dead that we didn't even see any employees. There were only two customers at the bar. Normally when you walk into a restaurant you're greater by an employee right away. Here that was not the case. We were standing there for maybe 5 minutes before an employee came up to us and asked for just two. No hello or welcome to El Campesino. Nothing! But, the other thing was. You see four of us talking together. You're going to assume we are a party of two and not ask how many. So we are finally seated and mind you we just were seated. The waitress comes and tries to start taking our order. We haven't even opened the menu yet. I tell her then could we just have 4 waters for now to get her to give us a moment to look at the dang menu. She brings our water right away and then ask her what do you want to order. We don't say anything because we are still physically looking at the menu. Then she ask you need more time or what. Since I was looking at the drinks menu I ask her if they make espresso martini. She tells me "I don't know. What ever is in the menu is what we have." So at this point she doesn't even know what is on the menu. Not impressed by her attitude and impatience with us we decide to just move to the bar. At the bar. The bartender takes forever to even greet us and ask us if we want water or anything. We all decided to get some drinks. My husband got a margarita and I the Mexican coffee. On both of the drinks it was so weak. Plus, the bartender didn't even seem like he knew what he was doing. Very disappointed. I don't recommend this place and I'm not one to tell people not to go. The first sign to turn around was when you walk in and there was no one there. You can find better food and better drinks else where.

We were seated quickly and served chips and salsa. The restaurant was clean and service efficient. We found the taco / enchilada and chimichanga meals to be a bit on the bland side. They didn't offer any accent sauces on the table. I'd rate the food as average.

Came here on taco Tuesday! They had a menu online for taco Tuesday but was not offered any special when we got there. The service was fine. The helper didn't speak much English so asking for stuff was difficult. The waiter finally came over to see what we needed. It wasn't busy enough but we did see the server much. He brought us our food and the little things we asked for! The menu was a little confusing because I thought the combos all come with rice and beans but it didn't even though it said it comes with it. I just have mis read it. Food was average! So we had to order a side of rice and beans! The decor was beautiful inside with lots of Mexican art!

Stopped for lunch with my wife and sister. Lunch menu portions were good. Fajitas were quite tasty. The homemade hot salsa is indeed hot! Not for lightweights! Other than the power going out and needing to find enough cash to pay for lunch, food and service was all excellent.

I don't even need to look at the menu, because the fajita quesadilla is amazing. I will order it again and again. Also the pink señorita margarita is delicious but also dangerous because they go down way to easily haha! The staff is always so nice. It feels like a classic Mexican restaurant. I have been to the Monroeville location, Ross Park and Waterfront.

Another birthday, another visit to El Campesino. His birthday, his choice. And we love the food here. As usual, I got the Huevos Mexicano. I love that plate, and the tortillas are the best we've had since we moved away from San Antonio, TX. And, as usual, it didn't disappoint. Son got the Enchiladas Mexicanas again. Hey! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! The server warned him that it was spicy, but that's what he likes. Kiddo got the nachos with beef. Menu has that listed as an appetizer, but it was pretty big. She got it for her main course meal and couldn't finish it. I also got a margarita. Server asked what size I wanted. I've never had to choose a size for a margarita, but I chose small. I figured if it was really small, I could always get a second one. But it wasn't small. It was BIG for a small! And it tasted great. They don't skimp on the alcohol, but it wasn't too alcohol heavy that you couldn't taste anything else. But it was BIG! The big surprise came when at the end of the meal when they snuck up behind my son and put a sombrero on his head then sang to him in Spanish for his birthday. He looks confused in the photo because he wasn't expecting it lol. It was great!

Gross!!! they can't even get the chips right. And the chicken is swimming in water. I'll wait to eat at McDonald's

We stopped in for a late dinner and were promptly seated. The waiter was quick to take our orders and bring out the margaritas (they were a little weak for my taste, for the size and empty stomach, I should have felt a buzz). There were 6 of us and he definitely kept up with the drink refills. Only 1 salsa and one basket of chips for the table though. After ordering, the food started arriving mega fast. I've had to wait longer at Taco Bell for my food. It was all hot and fresh. The chimichangas were not crispy and might have well just been small burritos. This was $2 more than most of the combos which had more food. The fajitas were large and they charge $2 extra for cheese. The chile relleno was large and delicious. The bean tostada was one of the best things I tried (odd, but it was). The Churros were amazing with an apple filling and ice cream and chocolate dipping sauce. I probably would have suggested caramel knowing they had apple in them. The service was excellent and we were in and out very quickly. I'd go back as I like the flavor of their beef and chicken. It's super moist and delicious. There is a lot to choose from, especially with the combo meals. They do have an a la carte menu so you can just get what you want as well. The portions are hit and miss, so once you know what to get, you may be happier with your portion size.

If you want a trash quality burrito from El Campesino, just go to your local gas station and purchase this

Avg food, decent service. Nothing special. There are a lot better Mexican food than restaurants in the area for the same price.

Where is bed place in Pittsburgh area to watch Mexico Gold Cup Soccer Game in Pittsburgh. I am there on business from Texas and do not want to miss the games. Want to find good sports bar to watch game with other Mexico fans?

I don't know where the best place for that would be. Pittsburgh doesn't have a strong Hispanic population, so not sure who would be having that game on their TV sets

Bocce. Not the most popular sport, but honestly a nice lackadaisical, recreational sport that accommodates all types of people. The facility is pristine (probably since it is relatively new)... but it hopefully stays this way! Six courts with different colored sets of balls. The carpet is smooth and rolls well with excellent foot paths and seating areas. The extras make the experience feel very professional with lane timers, measuring tapes, ball racks, and score keeping methods. Even down to the rules laid out including my favorite.. "No swearing in English" The bar area is also top notch! Self serve beer taps and wine taps (these are the coolest). Just tap your card and they have siphons that pull your wine right from the bottle.. and chilled glass coolers to enhance your experience. A dock for a food truck to pull right up to! They served us multiple pizza types (pepperoni, white, margherita, and pesto chicken), wings (honey barbecue and original), and french fries. They more than accommodated our group with ample refills of the food and a plethora of to-go containers at the ready to ensure that we took everything home! I grabbed an Orange Crush from the bar and it was refreshing with a strong amount of alcohol. The bartenders are used to their Italian crowd, so they aren't messing around. They also have a cigar lounge, party room, merch store, slot games, and a clear Italian pride. The logo and decor is strongly covered in the Italian flag.

We waited quite a while before our waitress, Amber S., came to take our drink order. Even after ordering simple drinks (a Diet Coke and iced tea), it took a long time for them to arrive. After that, we ordered two slices of pizza and a salad, and it took at least 45 minutes for our food to come out. During the entire wait, Amber never checked in with us, provided any updates about the delay, or asked if we needed anything else. A quick update would have gone a long way, but we felt completely ignored throughout the visit. After we finished our food, the situation continued. We waited a long time trying to get the check while Amber repeatedly walked past our table, even as we tried to flag her down. It was frustrating because this restaurant used to be much better when it was North Park Lounge. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill since it became Deejays. It also didn't appear that a manager was present to help address the situation. I hope the restaurant takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving the level of service.
