After being a frequent customer at the Wexford DeeJays, I was traveling through Murraysville with my family, and I thought I would try the new location,. The ribs have always been excellent. My son and I went into the uncrowded restaurant, sat at the bar, ordered two beers and told the bartender we wanted a takeout order. We watched her take care of several other customers. I told her I would be OK with going into the restaurant to place my order, but she said no she would be right back. meanwhile, the bartender was new, and there was a female manager behind the bar, with her. A little while later, the manager came over to us, and asked how could she help us? I ordered the food , and while finishing my beer, a bleach, blonde waitress from the restaurant side came in with a order of pizza. Bartender instructed her that it was for the restaurant customers. The waitress looked at the bartender and said for her to deliver it to the customers, because they were unhappy. During this time, the bartender also had to leave the bar to attend to drinks in the restaurant. I finally got my takeout order, I was walking out of the restaurant, and there were multiple waitresses and waiter in the restaurant area standing around and looking like they were doing nothing. The bartender was left to care for everything by herself. As I had said previously, I've always loved DeeJays ribs, from Wexford. When I finally arrived home, the ribs were quite dry, with hardly any barbecue sauce. I was very disappointed. Someone needs to needs to go to Bridgeville and Wexford to observe how the restaurant is generally run perfectly. I will not recommend this new location. read more

I came here for a yelp event and was excited to bring my family, unfortunately it didn't live up to my expectations. The restaurant itself is nice and has a nice patio area however it is all high top tables so keep that in mind, my nana wasn't able to get up there so we opted for a seat inside. Our waitress seemed extremely busy with all the tables outside I didn't see her much but when I did she was super friendly and helpful. The food was the majority of the food was not hot when it first came out (the pretzel had to be sent back because it still had a lot of cold spots, my mac and cheese was luke warm as was the wedding soup side.) I ordered the chicken fingers dinner, they were huge more like chicken planks and I got FIVE and piping hot as was the fish my mom ordered. Basically fresh / fried food came out really hot but premade sitting items like just didn't keep temp. We did tell the manager and he was apologetic and discounted our meal. I think that Yelp's current average of 3.5 stars is reasonable. Dee Jay's Lounge is part of a local BBQ restaurant chain. The menu for this particular location in Murrysville lists starters (e.g., garlic rolls, provolone sticks, French onion dip, and wings), salads, soups, burgers and other sandwiches, ribs, entrees (e.g., BBQ chicken and salmon), sides (e.g., fries, coleslaw, and green beans), pizzas, milkshakes, alcoholic beverages, etc. For my family, I purchased takeout here one time--Salmon Apple Salad, Steak Salad, Cobb Salad, and loaded potato skins for $62 plus a tip. (Yes, my family members ordered non-BBQ foods!) The employees spoke nicely with me. Communication and service was a bit slow. Special requests for omitting onions and bleu cheese were followed. Great restaurant located in the Blue Spruce Shoppes in Murrysville. The parking lot seems small for the amount of businesses in the plaza. I love the casual ambiance that includes a gaming area that even has a pool table. The starters menu has almost too many options! Haha But the garlic knots were delicious. We also enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip. The large pretzel also looked great! I enjoyed the Sticky Chicken Thighs with steamed broccoli and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious! The BBQ sauce had a nice Smokey flavor. Although there were many other tasty looking entrees that we'll have to try on our next visit including chicken sandwiches and wraps. Their pizza also looked good. The service was great! Very knowledgeable about the menu. That helped with our decisions for dinner but with so many delicious and different choices it may take us a few more visits to enjoy their large and diverse menu options. They have a nice Happy Hour menu and during Steelers games they offer free appetizers. Yaaay!! Looks like I'll be watching a game there in the near future as well!! I met up with some friends over the holiday break at Dee Jay's Lounge in Murrysville. Their lounge is perfect for groups of all sizes. When we were seated, the server let us know that they were short-handed. I appreciated her telling us that. They did a great job getting our food out and answering any questions we had. The French Onion Dip is housemade and was a hit with our group. I am still thinking about their chips! I enjoyed my pulled chicken sandwich. My friends like what they ordered too. The beer and drink list is decent and consistent for being out in the Burbs. This place is extra fun during the holidays because of the decorations and vibe. My mom and I visited Deejays Lounge around 6:30 PM on Sunday evening and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. We waited quite a while before our waitress, Amber S., came to take our drink order. Even after ordering simple drinks (a Diet Coke and iced tea), it took a long time for them to arrive. After that, we ordered two slices of pizza and a salad, and it took at least 45 minutes for our food to come out. During the entire wait, Amber never checked in with us, provided any updates about the delay, or asked if we needed anything else. A quick update would have gone a long way, but we felt completely ignored throughout the visit. After we finished our food, the situation continued. We waited a long time trying to get the check while Amber repeatedly walked past our table, even as we tried to flag her down. It was frustrating because this restaurant used to be much better when it was North Park Lounge. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill since it became Deejays. It also didn't appear that a manager was present to help address the situation. I hope the restaurant takes feedback like this seriously and works on improving the level of service. read more

The menu is sort of similar to NPLounge just more barbecue meats. We started with the giant pretzel. It was ok. They missed an opportunity by using bland melted cheese instead of beer cheese. The honey mustard was good alternative for the dip. Disappointed in the cheese though. I had a burger. It was pretty good. The fries were good too. The kid sitting behind me locking and jumping in his seat and his parents doing nothing about it was quite annoying. You can feel every movement of the person(s) on the other side of the banquettes. I'll sit on the deck next time, even in the cold to avoid the possibility of the person sitting behind me annoying me by movement. Where to begin...it's sad. Murrysville had the closest thing to a nice happening nightclub that it's ever had with Northpark Lounge. The food was just okay, but it was hip and happening with some good beats going, good drinks, a nice mix of young and old. It was also generally clean. It was really busy many nights. However, this sale to DeeJays will probably doom the place. I am sitting at Starbucks across the street as I type this up and DeeJays is pretty much empty on a night before a holiday when people are out becuase of no work the next day. Where are they? DeeJays seems to focus on food, barbecue specifically and Murrysville is not a barbecue town. Nothing against barbecue, but how often to people go out for it in the suburbs? Once or twice a month? Me myself, I smoke or grill my meats at home. The last point is sometimes being a chain hurts businesses, but in the case of Northpark Lounge, it helped. I think there were only four in the Pittsburgh area and they were all in pretty nice/affluent areas, so it was a chain, but established as being a higher end chain. So you take that away and change the menu(I had a gross beef on week sandwich), and all the sudden it's no longer special. People went for the atmosphere, not the food. As shallow and vapid as it sounds, it was more of a scene. Now that's gone. It was literally the only place like that in Westmoreland County. People don't wanna drive daaahhntahn anymore and it was a decent club. Focus on the entertainment aspect and you might be able to save the place. We have had some really great times and food here. Service is usually fantastic and everyone is really welcoming and pleasant. The ambiance is more upscale but still a casual place to enjoy a good meal. The bathroom needs some work now as the stall doors are jacked up but usually very clean. They have TVs in there to help show specials and more. They have a beautiful heated patio that can get a tad loud but so nice to be out but warm. Personally I have to say the last 3 chicken Parm sandwiches have been extremely disappointing. First one for $15+ had really really salty sauce on it so much so I had to get it remade and put sauce on side aka use my own sauce at home. Any jar would be better. Second time it was very hard and the bun was burned. Third time just yesterday was almost one half good till I hit the burned chicken. Removing the bun it filled the air between us to smell and was really dark. The other half and now nearly $20 was burned almost the whole thing. Ugh. So hit or miss on that. Also the garlic knots are blah. I highly don't recommend them for that. Know if you want to try them and are ordering dinner they came with it. Food here is fine. But service is terrible. I ordered take out this evening and the bill was very high. Despite this being a very expensive barbecue restaurant, they still managed to forget the steamed broccoli. I ordered as one of the side dishes. Staff at the front who took care of my to go order, could not even figure out where my order was and after about 10 minutes when they finally figured it out, they just shoved it at me and gave me no opportunity to look over what was in there. When they did this, they ended up making a situation where I could not even check that they forgot one of the side dishes I ordered as part of a dinner. Despite the food being generally OK, I was very disappointed because of how badly the staff treated me when I came in to pick up this to go order and how inconsiderate they were in terms of missing one of my side orders and giving me no chance to check that they got the order right. read more

Stopped here for a few drinks and appetizer on our way back from a weekend trip! this location has indoor/outdoor seating, convenient parking (free) and located right off of 22. We ordered 5 of the hot garlic Parmesan wings. I am a picky wing eater and I rated these very high! They had the perfect crunch and cooked just right. The flavor was extra spicy, which we love. The stuffed pretzel was one medium size pretzel "bun" with melted cheese and honey mustard. This was also delicious and a great appetizer choose for a quick snack! The service was good! Went there for Mothers day, they were not busy, our food arrived 45 minutes after we ordered, last time we waited an hour. They also always seem to be out of food. We come to Dee Jays in Murrysville for TWO reasons. First, because the ribs are phenomenal and the second to hopefully have Ashley A. wait on us. Not only is she a top notch server, but she treats you like family. We have had her wait on us several times but recently my husband had a medical issue while being there, and she went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and okay. A Disappointing Visit -- Needs Serious Attention As a local resident and frequent visitor to the North Park Lounge every week, my family and I decided to give Dee Jay's a try for lunch this week. Although it's in the same building and uses the same menu -- which was reassuring at first -- things quickly went downhill from the moment we arrived. It was immediately clear that something about the atmosphere felt "off." Unfortunately, it turned out to be the lack of cleanliness. From the floors in the dining area to a visit to the men's room -- which clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in days -- the place simply did not feel well-maintained. On my way to the restroom, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen, and what I saw did not inspire confidence: dirty floors, scattered supplies, and an overall disorganized mess that gave the impression of carelessness. I ordered the fish tacos, which were okay at best, but the homemade chips -- which I've always enjoyed before -- were so stale they were inedible. This, combined with the condition of the building, made it feel like no one cared about quality anymore. Our service didn't help either. We waited far too long for our server just to take our order, and we nearly left. When she finally did show up, she was repeatedly stepping outside to check her phone instead of checking on our table, which only added to the frustration. Overall, I can't see myself giving Dee Jay's another chance after this visit. I truly hope the new owners address the basic issues: cleanliness of the dining area, restrooms, and kitchen, as well as the attentiveness and professionalism of the staff. Reading other reviews afterward, I realized my experience wasn't unique -- and that's disappointing for a place that could be so much better. I went there after a trail race and running 20 miles a bit beaten up and needed a charge for my phone and instead of scowling like many she moved some stuff around and made it happen. I asked for the women's final of the u.s. open and with college football cable tv war restrictions , couldn't put the final on TV so she pulled out her smart phone streamed it for me. I came to North Park Lounge on a Saturday afternoon with some friends and we sat at the bar. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, they were well staffed and attentive with multiple bartenders helping us anytime we needed it. It's a typical sports bar, but their setup gives you easy viewing of multiple televisions with open air garage doors which was appreciated on a nice summer day. We started with their lounge fries which were massive, soaked in cheese and covered in crispy bacon - really just a perfect greasy appetizer. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese burger with a side of onion rings. Way more food than I could eat but the bun was perfectly soft, and while the burger was well seasoned, it was overcooked to my order, so it was slightly dry. First off the waiter called me boss every time he came to the table. Our food was at best below average. My bacon cheese burger came out burnt and had an egg on it. Sent it back and got it back the same burger back with extra cheese to cover up the egg juices on it. No one was there !! Should've known ot was not going to be good. Went to the restaurant on 4/16 for late lunch, around 3pm. There were only 2 tables occupied in the front part of the restaurant. We were seated in the bar area and there was only one other group of two in the back beside ourselves. They sat us immediately and then we waited, and waited, and waited. When they were seating us we noticed one of the tables had been used by a previous patron and was dirty from what they had eaten. We were at a table right near the bar and the bar also had some food on the bar from another previous patron. On the floor of the bar, we counted 4 napkins from previous diners. The waitress finally came over when she was finished with her conversation with the bartender and took our bar order. The bartender got the order and the drinks sat on the bar for 5 minutes. The waitress was no where to be found. Finally got our bar order and made our food order. The table and bar still were not cleaned. We got our food, the wrap was disappointing very small portion for the price. Forgot to mention the contractor heater that was right next to our table for heat. It was really brat up and it was there as a bandaid for lack of heat. The only other group that was in the back with us left and their plates and glasses stayed on the bar. A lady came in and sat at the bar right next to the left over food on the bar. She did infact place her purse on the bar and I was waiting to see her purse smear through the left over food. When we finally finished eating and paid for our meal...the table, the bar, the napkins, and the plates were still all over and not cleaned up. For a restaurant under new management, usually you want to put your best foot forward...we went there exactly twice...OUR FIRST AND OUR LAST TIME! there are so many other really great places to eat and have a better experience. Went here for a late lunch & to watch the Pirates game. Proceeded to the patio but decided it was too hot to eat out there. Went in and got a table. Asked the waitress if she could put the Pirate game on one of the other Tv's so all 4 of us could see the game. She said probably not because they have their rotation. I did ask again and she said something along the lines of I'm not allowed. Ok no big deal. We all ordered. My husband and I got the soup and salad combo. Our empty soup bowls & 4 empty drink cups were still on the table until we were all done eating. The bill comes and it's $87.87 which made us laugh cause we're big Sidney Crosby fans. My son gives the waitress his card and when she brings the bill back it's $90.93. We're trying to figure out why then I remembered seeing the sign offering a discount if you pay cash. I see the manager out on the patio, ironically he's turning the Pirates game on a few more TV's. Call him over and asked why we couldn't have the game on an extra TV inside - he claims we could have and said maybe she asked and he forgot - Lol. Sure OK. Decided to ask about the discount for paying cash. Specifically said "so you give a discount off the prices on the menu"? He said no, that's our cash prices. I said but these have been the prices for a long time so where's the "discount". He insisted paying regular price is a discount. Um no buddy. Google the meaning of the word discount. I got off of work after a rough day, I am in a different work industry now, but bartended for 30 years. We sat at the bar. 2 youth baseball teams came in , so all at once,could have been overwhelmed. Any time an influx of customers comes in like that the situation could be bad. Mackenzie and Dave handled the staffs tables bar drink orders and our food and drink orders in a timely fashion. Disappointed to learn this location has gone through a significant menu change to increase the merger with Dee Jay's BBQ. The merger has been confusing at best as someone who frequents this restaurant. It's unclear WHAT this restaurant is trying to be anymore. The most notable menu change for my party is that they no longer offer barbecue chicken dip, which is our favorite menu item. Why they would choose to eliminate a barbecue NPL item when merging NPL with a BBQ restaurant feels misguided. The entree I ordered today was good -- the Kona Crusted Pork Ribeye sandwich -- and the prices are still similar to what I'm used to at this restaurant, but the growing pains while they figure out which restaurant they're trying to be...have definitely been trying to this location's customers. read more

Wanted wings and NPL always had great wings. Wasn't aware of the ownership change but I figured I'd give it a try. Used to be able to order either 10 or 5 wings but now you can only order 10. I really only wanted 12-15 but I figured I'd just take some home. Ordered two 10 piece orders-10 hot and a mix of 5 hot ranch and 5 lounge lickers. The quality of the chicken was excellent and they were cooked perfectly. They tossed the 10 wings in the sauce (wings preparation 101) but for some reason just chose to bring me cups of sauce for the other 10. Kind of lazy and not the best process for flavor... My biggest complaint though was that my bill for 20 wings and one beer was $43.48 before tax, tip and 3% credit card fee. By the time I was done, I paid $57.... FIFTY SEVEN DOLLARS FOR 20 WINGS AND ONE BEER! Read that again just so you don't think your eyes are deceiving you. That is astonishing! Easily the most expensive bar food type restaurant I've ever been to including NY and LA-blew right past two of the most expensive cities in the US like it was nothing.
