    a slice of pepperoni pizza
    Ryan F.

I'm not David Portnoy, but I know pizza because after 35 years and conquering 38 states I've tried thousands of pounds of the pizza pie genre, and I don't heavily hand out 5 star reviews, so when I hand these out it's with great weight and tremendous pause. Yes, Westmoreland county could do better with its diversity of food and thought, but what it does lack Mr Mikes comes in and steals the number 1 spot in the North Huntingdon/Irwin/ Greensburg area with reasonable prices, and and an assortment of options with their wings and subs. Note, I have yet to try the subs but the mini pizza, white pizza and traditional pizza hit hard and surprised me with their basic balance. Is it the best I've ever had, no, but it's the best in a 300k population and that in its own right is a tremendous win. Traditional Pizza We go half cheese half pepperoni because my oldest needs to feel like she is eating an additional food group even though pepperoni is barely meat! Like bacon, I consider that topping a condiment like olives or mushrooms! Crust needed some char, but they use the right kind of ingredients which carries the pizza across the finish line and gives it the kind of greasy, I'm hung over and hate chain pizza kind of vibe. May I add the ranch is house made and not like a chain. I have a beef about these mom and pops not attempting blue cheese. Would it hurt you to try, please? 7.1/10 White Pizza with Tomatoe Again, great ingredients and simple is the approach and although I think char is a necessity for any 7.5 or above, I feel they know what they are and the price isn't unreasonable. 7.2/10 Wings I love their approach on wings, not flowered but fried and possibly baked on the back end perhaps? Either way, they maintain their juicy flavor while have a crunchy skin that gives you solid texture. By far the more unique approach in the area. 7.5/10 The ranch is spot on and I would like to see them branch out with the blue cheese, but I was very impressed. Infernos quality has dropped big time and loses its crown, and I don't see that changing any time soon. As for Rodney's, they need more consistency to their cooking style but if I had to give the chip it's Mr Mikes because of price and simplicity.

We stopped in for dinner after going to some breweries and the fleatique. We chose it because my husband's name is Mike. We waited an hour for our food and while it was good/ok, it was not worth the wait. We're not local so we won't be back but we also won't recommended it to anyone either. The staff was running around and they looked like they were working hard but also it makes you feel kind of hectic too as a patron. Anyway. It is what it is. Probably mostly caters to locals.

The cold cut they desperately needed back after they messed up my order

Food is great. New seating cold and uncomfortable. Unfortunate, because this has been our go-to for awhile.

The food is great and so are the drinks. I recommend the slushees. I had the Long Island and it pairs really well with my entrée.

It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

What a gem! I discovered this brewery when I was at the nearby nature center for family photos and…read morelooked on Yelp for restaurants nearby. Bonus was that it is also on the Laurel Highlands Pour Tour. We enjoyed everything about this brewery. First, it is HUGE! There is the main bar/tasting room and then another where the restaurant/food ordering is along with additional tables. There was also a lot of outdoor seating as well. The night we were there, there was a music trivia event going on. It was nice that there were two rooms of seating because you could be close to the action or you could be a little separate from it (but you still could hear what was going on). I sampled several beers at the bar before deciding on flight. Service was friendly and the bartender was able to tell me a lot about the brewery itself and each individual beer. Something to note is that you order the food at a kitchen window and the beers at the bar. Nothing wrong with that (and everything was actually really efficient). But sometimes it is good to know those details. Between us, we tried the onion rings, buffalo chicken dip, two different pizzas, steak nachos and tacos. Everything was delicious! Food is brought to your table when it is ready and everything was hot and fresh. The highlight for us was the onion rings. Huge and packed with flavor. Although everything we ordered was something we would eat again. Overall, an incredible experience and wonderful place that I hope to return to again.

It also has Harvest Kitchen that serves wings, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, etcetera. I went to Four Seasons for the Jambrewzle festival, an annual day-long music festival. I skipped the beers, but I enjoyed listening to the music and eating the foods.

My default when I don't feel like being disappointed…read more @thepubat333 is that easy "let's just go to..." and no one argues it because it just...works. There's enough going on menu-wise that everyone figures it out, and I'm not exaggerating-every single time I've been there since they opened, someone at the table orders a French dip. Every. time. It's basically part of the experience now. Also if I see pierogi, I'm ordering pierogi. That's just who I am. Could've taken down the entire plate without blinking but I shared like a respectable adult (meanwhile mentally tracking which ones were supposed to be mine). It's just a laid back, neighborhood spot that doesn't try to be anything crazy and still ends up being exactly what you wanted. Fun fact: my friend and I once prank called from their landline, the owner immediately called back, we answered like nothing happened, and yeah...the phone was no longer an option for us after that
