Favorite place for great pizza in my hometown! Also a great place to grab a cheap beer and catch up with friends from the area.

The fish sandwich was very big, but over cooked. Disappointing. Will try the pizza next time. Waitresses were fine.

The drive is beautiful, especially on a sunny day in the fall. The leaves are incredible. As you're driving winding roads along Wills Creek, Hillbilly Haven pops out of nowhere. You'll see plenty of pick-up trucks, four-wheelers and side-by-sides. What you get: is an absolutely quintessential dark, country, dive bar. Beloved by locals, they have pool tables, a small live music and dance area inside and a really nice outside area in the back. You'll meet some of the nicest people. Just remember-it is a local country bar and when in Rome... Here's the big draw-oh my goodness, the food! People come from miles away to get take-out. The wings are perfectly seasoned no matter the sauce/rub, juicy but crisp. The Hillbilly Deluxe burger puts a Big Mac to shame. The smoked meats are done on site by people who really know what they're doing. If you're looking for a Saturday or Sunday road trip on a pretty day and some terrific food, find Hillbilly Haven. Grab a beer and enjoy the country. ATV recommended but not required. This update from my friend April- "

My partner was in the restroom so went after us to get his drink, he ordered, she asked for his id, just like everyone else. He then gave it to her and she took it then proceeded to take it into the back, COMPLETELY bent it in half and CREASE it. He didn't say anything he doesn't care to argue about it. But I do:)) So I went and asked if she bent it she lied and told me no, to which I corrected her and told her we know she did (his id is brand new and it says it on there). Her reason is "PA IDs don't bend" I said i understand but this isn't a Pa id and informed her of the 3 main ways to know it is real also told her to make a google search. She refused to check it again and said she didn't need to serve him. (Which I know is true) At the end of the day you do not do this to someone's GOVERNMENT documents‍ mind u the owner was right there the whole time and both of them tried to tell me no one bent it and grab it out of my hands I was showing them. I also did crease my friends PA ID‍

We walked through the bar, into the restaurant, and immediately realized this place has more levels than a video game, a bar, restaurant, speakeasy, rathskeller... at some point we weren't sure if we needed a drink or a map. Luckily, our server saved us from total confusion. Attentive, engaging, and basically a tour guide for the building, they explained the whole setup. We now feel obligated to return just to finish the rest of the "levels,". Cocktails? Delicious. Dangerous, even. The kind that make you say, "We should come back," before you've even finished them. Now the food. My husband ordered a cheesesteak that could double as a dumbbell. I got the fish sandwich, which I can only describe as "aquatic overachievement." It was so big I briefly considered naming it and splitting custody. I took one photo, mostly because my arms were too tired from lifting it. Both were delish!!! We walked in unsure and walked out impressed, full, and slightly concerned about how they fit that much food on one plate. 10/10 would accidentally discover again.

My biggest gripe was with the wings that were cooked fine but for being garlic/parmesan they lacked any real garlic or parmesan being on them. But I did thoroughly enjoy the seemingly homemade fried cheese wedges. Pricing was reasonable if not a little higher than what I would have expected, but that's sort of the way of the world these days.

Awesome berry martini cocktail w local farm-made blueberry lemonade;). Had the HOT , delicious and hearty sherry mushroom soup as starter ( next time I buy a quart to take home ) I had the Thai shrimp and scallops - VERY tasty and nicely presented! Our server, Lynn greeted us and seated us in the dining room. She gave us menus and took our drink orders. We were thinking about an appetizer however, we saw cake delivered to a nearby table. The server described them and we both thought to skip the appetizer and save room for desserts. So, we went directly into the main course. The pork tenderloin with pierogis and Brussels sprouts. And a wagyu smash burger with fries. WOW! Delicious. We can easily recommend both dinners. And the menu has many more choices worthy of a great dinner. Our server, Lynn was attentive and made our dinner enjoyable. Thank you very much. BTW, after dinner we were so full however, we took the Goose Cake and Pumpkin Bundt Cake home for later.

There is something different and special about an Italian restaurant in Western PA. It's just better. More delicious and more hospitable. Carmine's is the perfect example. As mentioned in other reviews, Carmine's smells amazing. It will be crowded, so either arrive early or be prepared to wait. It's worth it. Everything our party ordered was terrific--zucchini planks, cheesy bread (from Enrico's), polenta, eggplant parm, and even an outstanding version of a Pittsburgh steak salad with that famous Carmine's dressing. So good! Great portion size for the price (50% cheaper than Connecticut). I also agree with reviewers who consider the marinara to be a tad too sweet, but that's up to your personal taste. It's still delicious. Carmine made a personal appearance at our table and was super hospitable. We could not have enjoyed the experience any more than we did. We will be back to Carmine's every time we are in Latrobe.

The pizza crust was really, really thin on the bottom and slightly undercooked. When holding the slice, the bottom would completely lose its shape and the toppings would slide off. The cheese was phenomenal. A thick, melty layer of delicious flavors. The pepperoni was what dreams are made of. Charred pepperoni cups! Not sure if there is a better pizza topping. The food truck served a much better crust, but I would definitely give their pizza another chance!
