I now live 1500 miles from there. It began when we walked in and we were told that we could sit anywhere. I saw a 6 top table in the corner. Before sitting there I asked if it was ok since we were only a party of 2. The waitress said, "you can sit anywhere except the top level." That was fine. So we sat at the 6 top table since it was on the lower level. We sat for about 10 min without any acknowledgment from the waitstaff. Then, another waitress said, "you are going to have to move because this is a reserved table." I told her we had already asked about sitting there and had received permission. She said we could absolutely not sit there because it was reserved for reservations. We got up and moved to another table. More than an hour later when we were finished and leaving, not one person had ever sat at that table. The waitress was rude and absolutely made it that I will never return. We ordered a Chianti and then were told that they didn't have Chianti but had something "similar." I asked what the wine they had was. They didn't know. I had a terrific waitress who was completely swamped with tables. I ordered the salad bar and a grilled cheese sandwich. Amazingly it came to darn near $20. The salad bar was not good. The lettuce was all brown, and the toppings were very slowly refilled. I also noticed that the person refilling the toppings was just dumping them onto already standing product; this is a food violation because you are not supposed to put New on top of old. Needless to say, within 15 minutes of having eaten, I had some life-changing experiences. I will not be back at this Eat n Park.

Everyone in our party agreed - it was good, but just not great. Our dine in service was also just so-so but to be fair, the restaurant did seem to be understaffed. My dining partner's soup arrived warm not hot as did the fries on my steak salad. We probably should have sent the food back to be warmed but we didn't see our server again until we were almost finished. Today's takeout was much better both in temperature and service but once again, the food was just ok - nothing that would compel me to want to come back. Eat 'n Park has always been a mainstay when I visit the area. I'm not going to give up - I'm sure I'll give it another try next time I'm back in the Latrobe area. I just hope it will be the restaurant I remembered.
