We were here for a private party and the food was so yummy! The tempura veggies were my favorite and everyone at my table loved the filet crostini. The display of the food was excellent as well. The place is very quaint and cozy with a bar that overlooks a pond. We will be back with the kids for regular dinner!

We just had a fabulous brunch this morning at the Gray Goose. This was one of the best brunches I've had in a while. My daughter and I chose the Poached Crab Eggs Benedict which was really good. I liked that they added avocado and almonds to it. My son had the pancakes which were huge! Almost covered the entire plate! My husband had the Big Breakfast and it lived up to its namesake. The home fries were really special, made with fingerling potatoes so they were very crisp yet soft inside. Everyone thought the food was good and of a high quality. The jam was even homemade that they served with the toast! Our waitress was very attentive. She kept the water, coffee and iced tea all filled at the right time. We sat in the dining room with the stone fireplace. The whole restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. Including the restrooms. They even had nice simple Easter decorations in the entryway. I have been here many times and each time it seems to improve in the quality of the food. Kudos to the chef!

This is one of my favorite places for brunch. I always sit at the bar and Karen is phenomenal. She has great recommendations and is seriously the kindest and nicest person. The food is awesome--the smash burger was incredible and get it animal style for a taste of California. The monte cristo sandwich was delish and the big breakfast was just what my son had in mind. Pancake, eggs, bacon and fruit. I'd say that it's a little pricey, but in my opinion, well worth it. The pond in the back adds to the charm. Inside could use a little sprucing up, but I can live with it as I love everything else!

We came here the night before but they were too busy to accommodate us. It seems the area may have been hit with the aftermath of the pandemic where service workers have moved onto other things. We decided we would make reservations for the next day for lunch. And we did come back around 11:00 a.m. We got the half garden salad, PEI mussels, and burger and fries. Our friends also got the burger and fries and lobster roll. We all thought the fries were limpy and would have preferred crispier fries. The friend with the lobster roll didn't finish her meal. She thought it didn't taste fresh. I got the mussels. Though it was a large portion, the mussels were very tiny. The broth had no taste. It needed more flavor. Service was definitely friendly and was the best part of our mediocre meal. Wish the food held up to the lovely establishment.

The BIG Breakfast. No really, it's BIG

We were in search of a good place to grab brunch/lunch around Ligonier and thankfully ended up selecting The Gray Goose. We were the only table there for a while on a Saturday morning. The bartender was also our server and he did a great job, including taking a few pics of our brunch bunch and telling us about the history of the place. The Big Breakfast is GINORMOUS!!! It needs a new name reflective of its mind numbing largeness. I hunkered down and dug in, pledging to finish it all. It took some real doing, let me tell you, but every bite was so delicious and layered with flavors. The potatoes did not look like much. Don't be fooled. They are just sublime as was the freshly made wheat berry bread and super fresh eggs. The bacon was so perfectly crisp and yet thickly cut so it made for a great bite with some egg mixed in. But wait! There's more! Those pancakes were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside with tremendous flavor that was enhanced by the really yummy syrup and butter. Everyone else enjoyed their brunch items too. It's pricey but worth it.

My wife and I had an enjoyable evening at the Gray Goose. The restaurant has a very homey colonial tavern atmosphere. We started with their fried rock shrimp special. It was delicious. It had a sweet bbq taste, combined with some jalapeño heat, all balanced with a yummy sour cream dipping sauce. We then split the Caesar salad, which was good but not great. For our main coarse, my wife ordered a crab cake. Like the salad, it was good but not great. It had a nice flavor, but had a bit too much breading. My meal, however, was outstanding. I got the short rib pasta. The pasta was cooked perfectly. The ragu was spot on. I completely cleaned my plate - I couldn't get enough of it! Combine the good meal with a friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere, and the result is a very satisfied customer who will be back.

Cheeseburger and fries - so good!

I've been to quite a few cigar lounges--and even worked at one--so I have a good sense of what makes a place stand out. Burn by Rocky Patel did just that on every level. The ambiance, décor, cigar selection, and service were all top-tier. It's a classy lounge with a twist of sports bar energy, which made it both elevated and fun. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next day, and they had live entertainment--a violinist playing along to hip hop and R&B--which created such a unique vibe. Kayla, the bartender, let us know about the live entertainment the day before, it wasn't posted on their social media or website. She was attentive, sweet, and made excellent drinks. Evan, who was working the cigar side, was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and communicated well with customers even during a heavy flow. One thing that really stood out was the crowd--mixed ages, mature, and plenty of ladies confidently partaking in the beautiful art of cigars, which I loved seeing. Even if you don't smoke cigars, the vibes in this place are worth the visit. If and when I return to Pittsburgh, this place is a must. It's also within walking distance to the stadiums, which is a huge plus. Feedback for management: The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the disconnect between locations and social media postings. There was an event listed on the website that wasn't actually happening at this location, while an amazing event that was happening wasn't shared online; which would have been a shame to miss. It may be worth considering in-house social media and website management to ensure updates are accurate and timely to the specific location.

The dirty martini was fairly pungent and strong so not sure I would get it again but I'm also not big on dirty martinis so probably just the wrong choice on my part. But the food was the star of the show. We ate so many good dishes- starting with the rainbow platter. Loved the baba ghanoush and the roasted cauliflower - those were my favorite of the 7 dishes on the platter. We also ordered the labneh, hummus with chicken and lamb shawarma, and the kafta kebabs (rolled up in some sort of tortilla) which were all fantastic! If we come back (which we will) I would just order the baba ghanoush instead of the rainbow platter, all the other dishes we ordered, and maybe one additional plate. I felt like I didn't really need the Israeli salad (tomato and cucumber) or the pickled cauliflower and radish that came on the rainbow platter. The hummus was SO soft and fluffy. This was some of the best food we've had in Pittsburgh. After having lived in a Philly for 4 years, we know good mediterranean/lebanese food and I'd be surprised if you can find better in Pittsburgh. Service was also very good.

On the outside, you're greeted with plenty of outdoor patio seating in front of the restaurant and live music from an artist playing tunes. Inside is a spacious bar, lounge and woodsy interior with another room with tables and larger party seating. Since we had a little one with us, we thought more fitting to sit outside, watch the horses and carriages pass and enjoy the fresh air. We were told by the hosts that the seating in the front, though unoccupied, wasn't available, but the tables on the side (which I thought were for storage as they weren't set, cleaned or too presentable looking) were. Although a bit confused by that note, we decided to sit outside. It seemed that there was only one server working the outside area as we saw her hastily going back and forth. We were sat at 5:35pm or so. After about 10 minutes, she took our drink orders and 10 minutes later we then ordered our food. We got the drink we ordered then patiently awaited our food. A little after 6:05p, it started to sprinkle with rain outside. If you know PA, the rain can come down hard and heavy, quick. We asked our server if they had other seating available who went to check. As we were sitting on the side of the building - in an uncovered area - we went inside around 6:15p to ask if there was other seating available. Surely a rain soaked toddler and water ruined food isn't the best look for a restaurant serving its guests.. Both the younger lady hosts and a man (not sure his relation to this restaurant), John, seemed a bit perplexed by our request. He then proceeded to advise that the umbrella-covered seating in the front of the restaurant wasn't available, pulls his phone out to check the weather, notes that it doesn't say it's raining, but instead says "yeah, I don't know what that is, maybe it's a neighbor spraying a hose nearby" (while another employee says "I see the rain on the window in front of us") and doesn't really provide any solution for us to sit so we go back outside. Very confused by that interaction, when we saw our server next, we told her that we would be leaving and we'll pay the check for the one drink we ordered. Another girl came out and apologized, saying she wasn't sure why they wouldn't let us sit inside or anywhere else and proceeded to take us to a table inside. Our now hangry and somewhat sprinkled on toddler got her food, noodles with butter, at 6:20p and we got our dishes at 6:30p. The food looked decent though I can't comment on its flavor and taste of our meals as I had no appetite then. I don't know who would want to enjoy a meal there after that interaction. No apology or conversation from a manager was ever had, no items removed from the bill or a complimentary item provided to make up for the poor experience. We didn't eat much as we were quite off put but paid the bill in full. I still have no idea who the "John" guy is and what purpose he may serve there aside from the blatant disregard of guest's concerns and a poor example set in front of the younger employees. Our server and some of the other runner girls were kind, so I don't think customer service and general decency as a human is lacking from this town but this experience and this specific restaurant left that unfortunate impression. If he or they didn't want us there, I surely would have appreciated the honesty so we could spend our money and celebrate Father's Day weekend elsewhere. I don't plan on coming back and only Yelp members don't visit either. If I could tell you to avoid this restaurant at all costs, I would.
