I'm a frequent diner here. This time I wanted to try something different for lunch so I ordered the Avocado Shrimp Wrap. It was delicious and it came with a generous portion of their super tasty fries. We were a table of 7 women having a holiday luncheon. So I ordered a cocktail as well. They always have a special drink menu and the Holidays are no exception. I had the Spiced Pear Mule. It was perfect! My friend had a Winter Wonderland which was so pretty with blue curaçao in it. Our waitress did pretty well considering the size of our group. One of the girls asked for a take out container three times before getting one, but other than that, service was good. The Christmas tree and stone fireplace made it all feel very cozy. We took our photo in front of them!

We've eaten at all the other Jaffre's restaurants, but until yesterday we had never been to Jaffres Stone Bar & Kitchen. We went to Jaffres Stone Bar & Kitchen last night with family members. My wife was interested in the chicken pot pie that is a Thursday dinner special, and three of us had that. The pot pie was delicious and huge, (more than half of it was taken home in a doggy bag). Their wedding soup was also very tasty. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I'd say that if you're in the Latrobe area stop in and I'm sure you'll like it.

Everything went well. From the prompt seating, courtesy server (who was only 19 but very well trained), several options, to the best gnocchi I have ever had! So so delicious.

This was our first time at Jaffre's. We were upstairs in the dining room. It is an amazing room should have god pictures but they were packed busy! Make reservations if you can. The food was worth it! They have a great selection in the menu and we sampled and shared! Because it was all so well done! Even busy the service was 5 star.

This place is a gem! A converted stone house beautifully updated with modern decor that showcases the original architecture. The food was delicious, prices reasonable, and service was great! Salads were fresh, seafood was cooked perfectly and the steak sub and fries were delish. The menu is diverse with light and heavy options. We sat in the main dining but there is also a traditional bar in the basement and an outdoor patio. Just a few miles from downtown Latrobe, would definitely recommend!

Wonderful atmosphere hidden gem in a very beautiful quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this place. It is not handicap accessible though which may be a problem for some. The prices are great. The food is wonderful. A lot of food for your money. Nice off street parking lot. Nice cozy fireplace lots of wood decor giving it a very historical feel.

He called for a reservation for Saturday night and they could only squeeze us in at 5:00 because they were totally booked! After eating it, I have to say that this was possibly the BEST restaurant meal I've had in recent memory, if not ever! Creamy sauce filled with crab, bay scallops and langoustines nestled between tender lasagna noodles (I'm pretty sure they were homemade). Topped with large shrimp and sea scallops, seared to perfection and set in a gratin dish which is more than an ample serving. It is served with a generous portion of their Caesar salad. We were pleasantly sated but could not resist ordering dessert to top it all off. Their Creme Brûlée is espresso flavored and delightful. And the bourbon pecan tart was simply divine. The owners wait on you and you can tell them how much you love the food, they're always appreciative to hear our comments. The restaurant itself is lovely. Tastefully decorated. You might feel that you are in New York or some other big city upscale restaurant but you are in little old downtown Latrobe! My favorite restaurant for sure!

I like to think myself as a conisour as far as onion soup and this ranks top 5 easily. I ordered an entree of the pistachio crusted lamb kabobs for myself and steak frites for my wife. Both were delicious and perfect! Nancy and Chef Adam were so friendly and helpful. They both made sure everything was perfect! We finished with the Banana Split which is a bananas foster stuffed crepe served with homemade ice creams. We suggest skipping lunch so you have room to share this!! Also it's BYOB if you're inclined to have a glass of wine with your meal!

We even had a palate cleansing sorbet between the soup/ salad course and main entree. And to top it all off "Irma Cake" for dessert. Like life, you encounter people of every description and quality. I posted my first review about this vendor at the market last year. During this new season, I was stopped as I was going past by the same woman I had encountered during my 1st visit. If you'd think her attitude had changed, I can assure you that it had not. She immediately attacked me about the review I had left. At no time did she offer to make anything right. Once again, she bragged about how great her products are and that she sells thousands. In addition, she made a concerted effort to make me feel guilty about my review. She asked how I felt about leaving a poor review of a family business. Well, I can assure you that I feel just fine. I believe my reviews are honest and assess my opinions of the products and level of service. She yelled at me that I should have brought the jars back. At that point, I didn't remember if I did or didn't return the bad product. I stated that I thought I had, but she yelled at me that I never returned them. At no time did she ask me any questions or offer any solutions. I was in the business of customer service for many years. I have never fixed the blame. I always strived to fix the problem. She may well do very well at her stand, but there is always room for improvement. From her attitude, everything is perfect in her own world and pleasing customers is the furthest thing from her mind. I have never once seen her stand jammed with an overabundance of customers, as I have seen at many other stands. I don't see it as a product issue, since there are people willing to pay a price for small jars of relishes and jams. I see this as an attitude issue. The woman is not friendly and I don't get a good feeling dealing with her. I don't believe that being combative solves any issues.

I had purchased three of their popular items, apple bourbon maple jam, raw fermented ginger beet kraut, and pickled red beets. These items have been outstanding. The jam as described has real apple chunks in it and when spread on bread it tastes like an apple pie. Made with quality ingredients including the maple syrup from Paul's family farm it is worth the investment. The kraut is red pink due to the beets but you can taste the pickle in it. It makes a great side dish and will keep in the fridge for some time. My understanding is that it is one of their more popular items. With the markets winding down for the season you can still shop for their products on their website or you can purchase their products at East End food coop or Shenot's farm and market in Wexford. It is my hope to visit their Latrobe brick and mortal location when I'm in the area to stock up on more of their "farm to jar" as they call it products. Even if you are looking for pickles you won't be disappointed.
