A great small Town Diner experience. Service was good, food was great and price was good. I definitely recommend if in the area. It's. Not fancy, not hipster but perfectly cozy comfort food experience. I was there for breakfast on an early Saturday morning. We were there by 9, and got there just in time before it started getting busy.

Garys is a little gem around the corner from the PNC bank. Gary is a qualified chef/baker who runs this cafe bakery and ice cream place as well as full service catering with his own banquet room. He is well respected for miles around. I was at a gun bash of close to 400 that he catered and it was good, fast , and well managed. Also had his food at a wake where I met him in person. Nice and humble. I had a burger so I will talk about that. Fresh ground daily on premises with home made bun. About 5 or 6 ounces juicy and full of clean flavor. Charges $4.25 which is tremendous for the sandwich. Bakery next door is also a treasure. Hmmmm. Great little fresh treats at good prices. Loaf of homemade style bread is only $2.50. Nothing too fancy but good stuff. Help shuffles between rooms so there may be small delay. I have paid $12 for burgers not this flavorful. Daily specials and breakfast till 3 pm. Well worth the time to go over from the bike trail. It is very light traffic streets in a small clean town so no need to worry about leaving bikes outside.

The place is a staple. Breakfast with home made bread. Incredible. Stop by for some baked goods and bread to go and you won't regret it.

Great little place for breakfast or lunch. Quality homemade food for a decent price. Wish there were more places like this around.

It reminds me of an old school mom and pop place - there's a u-shaped bar when you walk in the door with some tables around to the left and a small room to your right with additional tables. It was pretty clear when we walked in that it's a local favorite - we felt like everyone knew we were not local. But that dissipated quickly when a waitress greeted us and took us to a table. They were quite busy on a Friday evening, but the service was relatively quick once we got started. My daughter got the pierogies and I ordered the filet. Each of our meals came with a side salad - and let me tell you, that "side" salad could have been a meal itself. Not only was it large, it was a good variety of veggies and black olives. My daughter also ordered a side of meatballs and they were just okay - there was something about the taste and texture that neither of us liked nor could we pinpoint what was turning us off exactly. They almost tasted stale. The pierogies were delicious, including the browned onions. My filet had a nice sear and was cooked medium rare as I ordered, but it has a bit of an oily coating that was a little off putting. The flavor was good, but I prefer my steak with a little seasoning. The asparagus was overcooked and mushy, but the baked potato was massive and cooked to perfection. The amount of food you get is substantial. I'd definitely go back and try some other menu options or get the pierogies again!

A Hidden Gem Worth Leaving the Turnpike For! After making…read morethe drive between Northern Virginia and Ohio for more than 20 years, we couldn't believe we had never discovered Out of the Fire Café before. Anyone who regularly travels the Pennsylvania Turnpike knows how hard it is to find a truly memorable place to eat. This one is absolutely worth the short detour. The atmosphere is charming, the view is beautiful, and the food exceeded every expectation. We had to try their famous mushroom soup, and even though I'm not normally a mushroom fan, it was hands-down one of the best cups of soup I've ever had. The smoked salmon salad was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Sandwich special, and every bite was packed with incredible flavor. Our server was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel right at home and added to what was already a wonderful dining experience. We finished with the Bananas Foster. While it wasn't the tableside flaming presentation you'd find at a fine-dining restaurant, the flavor was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. We'll definitely be making Out of the Fire Café a tradition on our future trips. If you're traveling the Pennsylvania Turnpike, do yourself a favor and make the stop--you won't regret it!
