I've eaten here a handful of times now and I think I've gotten a base for how everything is. The waitstaff is sweet, caring and earnest in wanting the customers to have a nice experience. When busy, they aren't as attentive but we've never had to wait too long for anything. I love the atmosphere. It does seem a bit dark in the back and I've noticed a few people using their phones to light up the menu. Other than that, I can't say too many negatives. When the bar is packed, you can still sit in the back and have a pleasurable dining experience. The food, for the most part is good. We have had some things over salted or too well done but never inedible. The tuna appetizer is one of our favorites and the tots are so well done! I was surprised how busy it was for a Wednesday night! We had to drive around a bit to find parking and wait a little to be seated. Once seated at a table in the bar area, the server was very friendly and attentive. I was impressed with the variety on the menu, which included everything from burgers and wraps to salads and pasta dishes. They also had an extensive list of beer, wines, and cocktails, as well as seasonal drinks. I ordered the honey siracha chicken wrap, and it was delicious! Stopped by while visiting family. Fantastic food and service. Never expected to find something this great in small Belle Vernon. Great ambiance with the 30s prohibition vibes. We had difficulty in deciding exactly which dish to order as so many sounded great. Had a few appetizers and all were great. Wings were perfectly fried and generously saucy. Went with the Italian sausage pizza burger special as I never got to experience the OG Stringhill's version. Was not disappointed. Very flavorful and huge. This is my favorite go to spot! I've ordered the Caesar wrap the last three times I've been here because it is consistently phenomenal, it has a unique flavor I've never tasted anywhere else. My boyfriend loved his Wagyu burger, but even he said he's ordering the wrap next time because of how good it is! We also had the mozzarella sticks, which came out hot with a perfect cheese pull. There was a small mix-up in the kitchen, but the staff handled it perfectly, bringing out extra fries and apologizing profusely. Pretty solid gastropub grub in a cool, refurbished spot that gives off major Prohibition-era vibes. Heads up: portion sizes are absolutely HUGE. One entrée could feed you, your friend, and possibly a small village. I had the fried zucchini and the steak salad--both were tasty, but the salad was a beast, complete with fries on top. It's Southwestern PA, where apparently no dish is complete until it's been crowned with potatoes. (Looking at you, Primanti's.). Service was friendly and on top of things. Real bleu cheese crumbles on the burger, not just salad dressing. Great, crispy bacon. Hand formed patty, not a GFS hockey puck. Potato Patch style fries were hot and fresh. Ask for a side of the cheese that comes with the pretzel bites. My daughter had a Caesar salad with a perfectly cooked ahi tuna steak add-on. My husband and I tried this amazing place for the first time today. Chef Lamont was incredibly reassuring about working with my food allergies. He checked in with us several times to make sure our food was to our liking and that I was ok. Our bartender, Elena, was very attentive and made our drinks perfectly. Kayla was also very attentive to our needs and we enjoyed chatting with her. Definitely 5 stars for this wonderful staff and chef! We also enjoyed the nostalgic atmosphere of the location. We've been going back here now for a few visits, and we've been impressed with how good things are. It has become one of our current favorite places to go. Everything started out okay. Then we received Long Island iced teas made with orange juice. If that's how they do it here, that's fine, but it's not for me. Don't catch an attitude when someone questions the ingredients. Also, don't go bumping' your gums, complaining to your friends at the bar and guests at another table. They gave you away by turning and looking at our table. The 1st waitress alone is the reason for the low rating, and this is about our entire experience. The food was actually freaking delicious though!! I had potstickers and my husband had the buffalo tortellini with chicken. Weird combination, but it worked! My sis-in-love had the fish, which was juicy & delish! To the 2nd waitress (former flight attendant) was amazing and made the rest of our stay enjoyable. Wow! The husband and I heard about this place from this really cool teller at our bank. I got the rosemary Garlic chicken with mashed real red potatoes and buttery broccoli. It was amazing! The chicken was well seasoned and wasn't dry at all. It didn't have a sauce and was still quite moist. I enjoyed it. My SO got the meatloaf. Also came with mashed potatoes & gravy and buttery broccoli. He loved his too. You can definitely tell the food is made from scratch and hadn't been sitting out all day. My potatoes had really good lumps and I could see it was red potatoes. Perfect like the broccoli the potatoes had a little bit of chew to them like they weren't mushy. Perfect. Also ordered the pizza eggrolls. Sounds horrifying but it was surprisingly good! The marinara dipping sauce was very good as well. The place itself is pretty neat. My biggest complaint is that the prices felt steep. I think my burger was on the cheap side of the menu at $13. Most plates were closer to $18. This was my first time there and I can't wait to go again. I made a reservation for a Saturday night and when we got there our table was ready and we got waited on immediately by Melinda who was fantastic. I used to work with Chef Monty (Lamont) a while ago at a country club in Peters Township and I know he cares about pleasing his customers and everything we got was fabulous. He made our night so enjoyable and all of our dinners were delicious. He really cares about the food he prepares and he even takes young kids back to the kitchen to help with their family's dessert. Definitely glad I found out that Chef Monty was working there. Will definitely be going back soon. All around great experience and loved the atmosphere. read more

This was our first time coming to this place and heard nothing but good things about it from our daughter. We took my father in law out for an early birthday celebration. When we arrived people were gathered outside and I assumed a wait was happening. I came in and went to the bar and said I wanted to put my name in for a table. She informed me no wait and the waitress would take us to our table. We ordered drinks while we waited on others to arrive. Ordered the Jack O by Sam Adams. After we were almost completed the waitress brought out a glass with sugar around the rim, which was nice but would have been nice to have it earlier. I asked for another round of Jack O's and she said they were out but had Octoberfest. I switched to a southern tier beer, which was fine, not a big deal. The reason I'm providing this 4/5 stars is that our food was staggered as it came out. Not everyone received their food at the same time. My daughter said this was unusual, because they never had this issue previously. We were there for lunch and not dinner time. It wasn't our waitress fault, it was something with the chef in the back, things didn't make sense how they came out at different times, most of us were finished and others were just receiving their food.
