Located on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, this is a great place for breakfast and brunch if you're in the area. Menu offerings covers most of the classic breakfasts. But the real treat here is their home made donuts! It is simply fabulous! If you don't have room for it, get it to go, it is that good. Dining area size is limited. Spot was very busy on a rainy Saturday morning. Waited about 10 minutes for a table. When we sat down My wife and I noticed that the table was sticky. So sticky in fact, that my napkin stick to the table. I asked if the rye bread was seeded. The server indicates no seeds. Ordered Al's big breakfast with bacon and eggs over easy. The eggs were over medium to hard. Bacon looked like a lump. It must have been baked in the oven or flash fried. The hash brown patty was a McDonald's style. It was cooked well, but you could tell the oil was overdue to be changed as it had that off flavor. I call this a one and done stop. read more

I've eaten here twice this year while visiting family and wish we didn't live 4.5 hours away. The food has been great, and the value for the portion size is somehow even better than the food. Great food at a reasonable price. I had a breakfast sandwich on a bagel that was served with home fries. It was really good. The egg was fried hard so if you want it softer, make sure you tell them. I ordered a cream cheese donut which reminded me of a funnel cake. It was a bit too greasy for me but it was tasty. It's a small place in a cute area with some outdoor seating. First time visiting Wade's. Got seated immediately and had coffee on the table w/in a minute of walking through the door. The western omelette was tremendous. Perfect size. Perfectly cooked veggies. Lots of cheese. The home fries were seasoned and cooked to a nice crispness. The make homemade donuts. Didn't try them today but it is a good reason to head back. I think I might be becoming a food snob. I blame cooking competition shows. This is the second time we've eaten here. It's small and you can hear everybody's conversation. The staff seem to know everyone that comes in. That's a good sign for any breakfast place. Turn around is quick and there is lots of parking. With tip,our bill was $47. Here's what we got: 2 coffees, 1 soda, scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, biscuits and gravy, homefries, and sausage. The French toast was very good - excellent coating and not soggy at all. Sausage was also yummy but the skin peeled off of it which can be a turnoff to some. The biscuits were dry and maybe even stale. The sausage gravy was mediocre but that could have been the poor biscuits getting in the way. The homefries looked like they were going to be crispy but sadly were soft like boiled potatoes - tasted that way too. All that being said - may just be turning into a food snob. I would recommend trying the place for yourself. The service was exceptional. Every need met immediately. They kept a watchful eye without being intrusive. Meals came fast. Menu is double-sided and lists breakfast items on one side and lunch on the other. Operating hours are limited. Definitely a nice discovery off of the beaten path for breakfast. Excellent breakfast at a great value. I ordered the Eggsport breakfast. Two eggs, meat, homefries and toast for only $6. Everything was excellent. The homefries were very flavorful. Nicely browned. I loved the two thick links of sausage too. We also got an order of the freshly made donuts. It was one of those foods where the first bite was incredible, but by the last bite, you maybe wished you didn't eat the whole thing. Don't get me wrong - they were tasty. But they were pretty heavy and a little greasy. But I can see how others would really enjoy them. read more

I'm so glad that someone told us about Wade's because we've lived here for 4 years and didn't know about it until now. We are hooked after our first trip. I love that they open super early compared to other diners in the area so that my husband and I can have a nice breakfast meal after dropping our son and daycare and before heading to work (about the only time we can have a real "date"). My favorite breakfast menu item is the corned beef hash. I'm used to restaurants serving the standard canned stuff (which is still delicious). They serve homemade with real pieces of corned beef. Probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Don't leave without ordering a doughnut. They have three flavor options and come three to a serving. Served warm and drizzled with chocolate they are a little slice of Heaven. Another notable item is their pancakes. Full of flavor and literally the size of your plate. I have no idea how the cook flips them! It is a tiny inside with a few outdoor tables that fill up quickly on the weekends, so be patient. If you are in the Eastern suburbs, definitely check out wades. And if you aren't, it's worth the drive. read more

I ordered and when I arrived everything was ready for me transport home to my family of 4 grands under 7 and my husband Fluffy eggs and pancakes, incredible sausages and bacon that toddlers fought over. --winner winner! Okay,went for the first time today. Quant little place in a quaint area. There are few breakfast places in the area, so it's very welcome. It's been around about a year, but we just found it today. The service was really friendly, place was clean. Food was good. Bacon was done well, and the menu was varied. My only issue is the pancake. It was really fluffy/doughy and lacked a bit of flavor. I find really fluffy pancakes in general are too thick and lack any crispy edges. These remind me of McDonald's pancakes. I know that some like lifeless pancakes, but maybe they can offer different types. Next time I go back, and I will, cos I really liked the feel, menu options, and friendly staff...I will ask for the pancakes be made cripsier. See what they say. read more

Small unassuing local diner that serves a fantastic breakfast. Entered soon after a youth hockey team and parents were seated but I was lucky to snag the last open seat at the counter, right up against the Christmas tree! No matter, the service was quicker than one would expect from a small establishment with a crush of patrons suddenly upon them. I chose eggs over easy (perfectly done!) homefries (which were seasoned nicely), bacon (crispy, but a tab uninspiring flavor wise), and the major highlight....a side of sausage gravy and biscuits. This is not a hard dish to make, but when you get one that is mastered you notice. Perfect consistency, flavorful, and just the right hint of pepper....and abundantly slathered on fluffy but filling homemade biscuits! AWESOME!. My son took me to this neighborhood Diner. I had such a wonderful breakfast I forgot to get a picture until we almost done devouring our food! The sausage gravy was perfect, creamy with lots of sausage over the best light and fluffy homemade drop style biscuits . We also had amazing doughnuts light homemade, hot ( made to order)each one stuffed with a different filling, creamy cheesecake filling, strawberry and raspberry soooo good the donut itself tasted almost like a funnel cake only fluffy and soft , my son had a BLT on big Slices of marble rye, with cole slaw and fries.
