The Herminie Diner turned out to be the perfect backdrop for a father-daughter breakfast that I didn't know I needed--but my 12 1/2-year-old daughter somehow did. These days, our quality time mostly consists of me asking her to put her phone down and her pretending not to hear me, so when she suggested breakfast on a Saturday morning, I threw myself into action like a guy late to a mid-life crisis yoga class. We landed at this charming little cash-only joint where the coffee flows freely, and the smiles are served as generously as the portions. I ordered the everything bagel sandwich loaded with sausage, egg, and cheese, which was so good I almost forgot I was still half-asleep. My daughter, meanwhile, ordered a pancake the size of a medium pizza, topped with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a sugary behemoth, a kind of breakfast Mount Everest that she nearly conquered in one sitting--an impressive feat given she had to dose for it like a breakfast chemist managing her type 1 diabetes. Watching her tackle that pancake made me prouder than I ever thought a flapjack could. The staff? Fantastic. The kind of cheery and attentive people who make you feel like they've been waiting their whole lives just to serve you breakfast. It's a rare skill these days. And let's talk about the price--it was shockingly reasonable. Compared to some other local breakfast spots where you have to take out a loan for bacon and eggs, Herminie Diner feels like an oasis of sanity. Just remember, they're cash-only, so unless you plan to barter pancakes for payment, come equipped with some greenbacks. Final verdict: The food was fantastic, the company even better, and if my daughter keeps choosing pancakes over Social Media, I'll be back every Saturday morning with bells on (and maybe a bigger wallet, just in case that pancake gets upgraded to "large pizza" size).

After a quick detour we stumbled upon this gem of a diner. The family owner diner took me by surprise, as I set my expectations to a greasy spoon and boy was I wrong. I was first blown away by our wonderful waitress Penny, just an amazing woman full of cheer and a smile to spark your day! Our food arrived within minutes after ordering and piping hot freshly grilled potatoes, beautifully prepared Hollandaise sauce and poached perfection. The chef and owner Jerry is always available to his fan club (all the patrons) as he greats his regulars and the newbies. Great diner, great food and great people.... We even returned the next day to validate our experience by bringing more people and again awesome!! Thanks to Athena our waitress!! B

This place is a gem in the Herminie area. The food is excellent and so is the service. The portions are large and everything is freshley made, as they should be in a rural type diner. I had two eggs over easy because I wanted to keep it light, but the homefries and large wheat bread had me stuffed. My wife had the veggie omlette, daughter had belgium waffles, and step son had bagel breakfast sandwich. All were very good. The pictures with this review do not lie! I live in the area and first went here when we moved here three years ago. We don't eat breakfast out much, so we don't frequent this place often. That is the only reason! If you are in the area, I would highly recommend the Herminie Diner. You won't be disappointed.

I think i might have found one of the best diners i have ever been too...the pancake was perfect and as trump would say yuge.., seriously this was the size of a pizza!!! It was perfect had crisp edges, quality batter, it was just epically delicious, the omlette was fantastic, and the bacon was thick and cooked perfectly, the home fries were delish...i had great service and great food i have no negatives about the place, cute decor and a very nice owner(think it was the owner)... please note cash only but atm on site...100 percent the best diner outside the city and one of the best i ever been to!!! Bravo bravo

A hidden gem! We stopped on the way home from a family vacation and we're so glad we went off the beaten path for this place! The pizza sized pancake should be landmark on the map! Delicious food and great service.

We opted to dine in for dinner. The restaurant had ample social distancing between tables and practiced all safety and sanitization measures during Covid. My husband and I were the only dine-in customers for most of our meal. Lots of take out orders were processed while we were there. My husband and I opted for the special of the day which was a crab meat ravioli covered in Alfredo sauce with a cheese-filled breadstick and side salad for $14.99. We also ordered the deep fried cheese sticks as an appetizer. Holy moly is the food delicious here! The cheese sticks were served with two homemade side sauces: honey mustard and sweet Thai chili. The pasta for the raviolis was HOMEMADE! It was incredibly good. The staff was very friendly and one of the owners was in the kitchen himself helping to fill orders. This restaurant is a gem in Herminie. We are adding this to our rotation of locally owned restaurants to eat at and can't wait to try more items from the menu. Definitely give this restaurant your business. Your taste buds will thank you!!!

If you follow my reviews, you know I'm a fan of old-school diners, the classics, and honest home-cooked food. Summit hits all three marks, serving straightforward and delicious American standards since the 1960s. The three-egg omelet loaded with veggies and sausage was exactly the pre-ski power-up I needed. My son stuck with his go-to breakfast burrito, and my daughter went with the classic two eggs, bacon, and potatoes. Everything was spot on. The staff has just the right level of "WWA"--Waitresses With Attitude. They are perfectly polite, but they hold the line on proper behavior and will quickly put anyone in their place if they step out of line. It keeps the environment grounded and authentic. A few tips for your visit: * Seating: Expect to wait for a table in the lobby or outside during peak hours. * Payment: Bring your wallet--this is a cash-only establishment.

For many years, Rodney's has been one of my mother-in-law's favorite restaurants, so I have eaten foods from here at least a few times. Here are my ratings for some recent foods: Soy Glazed Salmon - 5 stars - The salmon was a good size, was cooked nicely, and had a sweet soy glaze. It was served over flavorful brussels sprouts, carrots, and potatoes. Veal parmesan - 4 stars - Veal tenderloin medallions were breaded and topped with tomato sauce and provolone cheese. I liked that the breading was not soggy. Pecan-encrusted chicken salad - 4 stars - Chicken breast was encrusted with pecan breading and served atop a house salad with pecans, tomatoes, dried cranberries, and mandarin oranges. Grilled chicken salad - 4 stars - Grilled chicken breast was baked in Cajun butter and served atop a fresh house salad with cheeses, tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, and fries.

My husband and I ate one breakfast here. An employee promptly seated us at a clean table. Our waitress was friendly, but she had slow service and made multiple mistakes for us, and we overheard her mess up two other tables' orders. Here are my reviews for what we ate: Giant Cinnamon-Roll Pancake - 4.5 stars - I did not measure this pancake, but it was a very, very large size. Surprisingly, I ate most of it, and I might have eaten all of it if I hadn't planned to eat lunch two hours later. The pancake was fluffy and topped with sweet icing, but I think that it could use more cinnamon. Bagel Breakfast Sandwich - 4.5 stars - My husband ate this sandwich. The bagel, cheese, crispy bacon, and eggs tasted very good. Assorted Cookies - 4.5 stars - These cookies came in several flavors, and I ordered one of each flavor. The waitress, however, told me that two of the flavors were out of stock, which was not true, because I literally took a photo of those cookies in the display case, and you can see that photo attached to this review. She brought out very cold cookies in flavors of triple chocolate chip (which my husband really liked), oatmeal raisin, Reese's (one of my favorites), chaos (several ingredients), and lemon blueberry (my other favorite). My husband said that the cookies were a large size and tasted good, and I agree. The total price for these three foods and one soda was $29 plus tax, a 3% credit-card processing fee, and a tip.
