My husband and I were in the area looking for breakfast. We did not want fast food and thankfully we stumbled upon Alice's Restaurant. The food and service were equally amazing! The pumpkin pecan pancakes are SO good! Our waitress (did not get her name) but she was just awesome, very personable We chatted about our love for our new granddaughters. Lovely woman We had East end omelette and Kitchen Sink. So good!!! We will most definitely be back and suggest this to all of our people! Our waitress also supported local business by suggesting Sarris candy store (lovely as well!) 10 stars for our experience at Alice's from us Glenford O-H folks!! read more

Cute, small diner with a very friendly staff. We went for lunch and were not disappointed. They serve breakfast all day, which is a great option. The burgers were well-seasoned and full of flavor, and the generous portion of fresh-cut fries was definitely worth the extra charge. For young families they do not have any booster seats or highchair. read more

Nice hometown restaurant vibs with fabulous food and fabulous service. Will definitely go back.

BLUF: I Hidden Gem neighborhood restaurant. And a wonderful lucky mistake, we lost our way trying to find Subway and came upon Alice's. As a baby boomer you know I had to go in and check it out. What I found is an incredibly quaint., homey, old style diner. I knew it would be good rhe second I noticed all the locals going in there to eat. The food is made fresh to order, the portions are generous, the service is friendly , and the price is right. I had a grilled chicken wrap which was very very good, and the Western Mountain platter is enough to feed two people on top of being delicious. The only catch is that the only take cash. So bring your cash with you. There's also an ATM located inside in case you forget. Not a lot of seats in there so you may end up sharing a table, but that's okay because it's a friendly kind of place. I just wish I was in this area more often and I could stop in there again read more

I've driven past this place so many times and finally one morning decided to stop. Best choice of the day. It's tiny inside. I think there were maybe 6 to 8 tables. But the lovely ladies that worked in there were hustling all over the place. The food came out piping out and quite quickly. The hashbrowns were incredible! Can't wait to go again! read more

They literally have 28 chairs in the small dining room. Sunday after church we were the second party waiting for a table but we didn't have to wait very long. The food was great! I had the east end sandwich. My wife enjoyed her omelette and screaming hot home fries. We were there on a very hot July day and their AC couldn't keep up so it was rather warm. They are cash only but have an ATM. read more

Small restaurant with a welcoming vibe. Around 10 tables, 1 server, and 1 chef. Great place for a quick lunch. Good food and great service.

Same old story- looking for someplace else and stumbled across this place. Kinda busy on a Sunday morning but 5 of us popped in, sat down and had a really good breakfast with good, fun service. Son-in-law and I both agreed that the sausage gravy was not only good but good for our hangovers. read more

I love the omelettee and scrambles! Go hungry because the portions are not small . The chicken fingers and fries was very good!

I drive by Alice's all the time and was so excited to finally stop in. This place definitely has the "Cheers" vibe, and it seemed like everyone there was a regular. There were a couple tables open when we stopped in on Saturday morning. We were immediately greeted and waited on, and all of the servers were very friendly. We ordered the kids pancake for my son, and it was huge! We ended up taking half of it home. I had the 2 eggs with toast, bacon, and hash browns, and it was delicious! The bacon was so flavorful and the hash browns were like mini fries. We were served quickly, and you could see that everything was freshly made. I definitely see why there were so many regulars there; we can't wait to go back! read more

Server was attentive. Big portions and not too pricey either. It is cash only so be prepared. It is very tight quarters maybe only 20 seats or so which may cause for delays to sit. Our table was split and close to another two top practically at one table together. Luckily they were kind and we chatted briefly. read more

Food is absolutely inedible. Dogfood is better quality than what they're passing off as food.

The breakfast here is so good it should be illegal. People have been telling me about this spot for years. I finally stopped in. I had the steak, egg and cheese on a roll with grilled onions and hash browns. You should too. My wife's omelet was tasty as well. read more

This place is far from us but you can bet I will be back here again to try other dishes. The hearty omelette, DELICIOUS spicy sausages and special horseradish sauce all make this place so yummy. Please get the hash. SO CRISPY! I enjoyed a perfectly cooked breakfast here. I've honestly paid much more for much less meals. At Alice's, it's worth every dollar. Thanks for making such satisfyingly delicious breakfast meals!!!! read more

Small place so you might have to wait a bit for a table. But no complaints about the food. The "hash browns" are so good! The 2 waitresses husseled so your coffee cup was always full. And thier service was pleasant and lovely. I had the hot sausage and egg wrap and it was really delicious. And too big to finish. I ended up bringing half of it home to have for dinner. Remember it's cash only. But there is an ATM right there, so it's not an issue. read more

This place is a little slice of heaven. Cute little restaurant situated on a corner. Ample off street parking on the side. Smiling faces inside with attentive service. Food is beyond expectations. Cash only. Let's talk about the food. The coffee was hot and the waitress kept our cups full. I ordered the Scotty Omelette. We could see the kitchen from our table. It got my heart strings to see someone physical grate the potatoes that are going into the fryer. At this point I knew this was going to be a good breakfast. The waitress in a timely fashion brought my meal. Wow, it filled up the plate. I peered into omelette and couldn't waste to taste the steak, hot sausage, mushrooms, onions, peppers, mozzarella and horseradish sauce. This is one of best omelets I've ever eaten. That horseradish sauce elevated it. Now the hash browns were one of kind, crunchy and golden brown. Added a little grape jelly to the English muffin, which was toasted to perfection. I couldn't finish all the hash browns. So I was not going to get a slice of one of the decadent cakes sitting on the counter. I can't wait to be back. And also tell other people to go there and support small business. read more

Can't beat the mom and pop restaurants. This little place is great, just a mom and daughter. They have limited hours, mostly til 2pm daily, but the breakfasts and lunch items are delicious. I got the Scotty, a yummy hoagie with steak, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and a horseradish sauce. A side of loaded fries, with sour cream, bacon, and cheese. The skin on fries are awesome. A little gem in Canonsburg, Pa. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how great Alice's diner food was. The space is small, and quaint. It is one of those restaurants where the servers remember you, and there are a lot of regulars. I sat at the high top bar area, which over looked in to the kitchen. There is no doubt that the servers, and the people making the food (one being Alice, the owner) were hard at work. They were slammed on a Sunday morning, and somehow the kitchen area was still kept super clean (super impressive) The only complaint that I have (not even really a complaint, just a heads up) is that all of the food is prepared on the same cooking top. So if you order pancakes, chances are they were cooked on the same spot as some bacon. I am a vegetarian, but this wasn't an issue for me. However, if you have sensitivities, or are vegan you may want to give your server a heads up. My omelette was one of the best that I have ever had. It was HUGE, and had a ton of veggies on it. In addition, Alice served up home fries with onions and green peppers - made to order on the cook top. Service was great - I never had to wait for a refill on my coffee, and even though they were extremely busy the servers were very attentive and asked me how my breakfast was. I can't wait to go back to Alice's diner, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to grab some really good diner food, made by people who actually take pride in what they are serving you. read more

Stopped in for a late breakfast. The place is small and it was packed. Many of the tables cleared just after I arrived. My meal of two eggs with bacon, hash brown potatoes and toast was good. However, I did order the home fries and received the hash brown potatoes instead but did not feel like asking for it to be corrected. I do prefer the home fries. Service is always friendly and the staff always seems to know some of the customers. read more

Food is really good. It's cash only, so make sure you bring some with you. Small diner too, so you may have to wait to get in.

Classic small town breakfast stop. The food isn't terribly healthy but it's worth the cheat if you do such a thing. I had an egg white western omelet and it was excellent. Great friendly service and awesome music down at Alice's Restaurant. We'll return read more

Friendliest service in town. The western Omelette was delicious. Very small restaurant with few tables but worth the wait.

Great little restaurant nothing fancy but good breakfast eats. Space is small so be ready to make friends or don't be antisocial lol Menu is standard breakfast and lunch eats, but it's made fresh to order. This is much better than your chain restaurants. Service is friendly and prompt. Parking is ample next to the restaurant. read more

Disclaimer: I am very much in favor of locally run establishments and tend to bias in favor when comparing them to chains. Ordered the cheese omelet with fresh tomato, side of sausage. Came with a basket of thinly cut fries. I noticed the food truck outside advertising "Brick of Fries" which I have see at local food truck events and seems popular and I can see why. Overall I liked the breakfast. Small dining room with about 5x4tops and a 6top. But no waiting to get in for late (10:30AM breakfast) on a Saturday. No credit cards which seems more inconvenient than ever since I rarely use cash for anything. But I am sure they have their reasons.... read more

Honestly a hidden jem!! Everything is home cooked and so delicious!! Their portions are huge and their prices are in line with any great diner. My husband got the hot sausage breakfast sandwich, which we later both went back a week after and got again!! It is served on the softest roll you could imagine, and the hot sausage was pressed flat on the griddle. It tasted amazing!! The first time I got the eggs, toast, hot sausage, and hashbrowns. An amazing amount of food for the price. The hashbrowns are deep fried and taste like potato chips. You can get them with any toppings and are really tasty! The second time we went we took our son, who was treated like royalty by the sweetest waitress you have ever met. They even made him a pancake in the shape of Mickey!! Honestly really good quality food, for great prices, with great service, and a coffee cup that never sees the bottom!! You cannot get a better experience than this. Cannot wait to try more of their always changing specials for breakfast and lunches, as well as the famous brick of fries!! read more

Well...that was fabulous. Alice's is the kind of place you want to keep all to yourself...but that you go on Yelp and give five stars to because you want to see the owners of these little places do well. If I lived near here, though, I'd have a hard time not coming here every single day. We were passing through on our way to New York and chose it based on the Yelp reviews. We were NOT disappointed. I had a BLT on Italian and it was literally the best BLT I've ever had. Such a simple dish but the quality ingredients and perfect preparation here really kicked it into high gear. My husband had a big sandwich called the Scotty Special and a basket of fresh-cut fries with brown gravy. He ate every bite and loved it. Because they asked ;-) we had to try the desserts. Of course, I could see the cherry pie sitting on the counter and you could just tell by how it looked that it was: (1) homemade; (2) had an amazing crust; and (3) was probably delicious. All correct. That's what my husband had. I had the cream puff cake -- which was like a cross between a pie and a cake -- and was amazing. (Also, I still had their really good coffee left and that was perfect with the cream puff cake.) The owner and staff were friendly and efficient so that just tops off an experience that will bring us back to Alice's any time we pass anywhere near Canonsburg. read more

We were at Alice's Diner's and the service was good as well as the food. Yes, you do get nice portions but our 3 meals were just lukewarm. My French Toast was dry (not dipped long enough in the egg mixture, the other two people had pancakes that were very thick, not light and fluffy but were good. My decaf coffee was cold. Not sure if I would go there again. read more
