    Champagne Margarita
    Cayla S.

Love this place! Parking can be annoying but once you're parked, the party can begin! The drinks are always good. My go-to is the champagne margarita Something about it hits just right. I haven't had an entree I didn't enjoy. Prices for everything you get are decent. Breakfast is the best bang for your buck though. Be aware that the dressing on the side salad is spicy--I've seen it throw many people off because they aren't expecting it. The space is good even for larger groups. I celebrated my birthday here with some friends, and we were a group of 6. Recently, we stopped here as part of a taco crawl group and we had about 20 people. We were less concentrated and distributed about the bar and entrance area.

Decided to order El Sabor for delivery and OMG did they deliver. I got the chipotle chicken paella and my husband got the Baja burrito. We ordered the two salsas (verde and house) and chips and the chips were a generous serving and so crispy crunchy! Whatever sauce comes with the Baja burrito.... I could drink it. It's perfectly sweet and smokey and I want 10 bottles of it ASAP. We dumped some on a little bit of all the food!! The side salad that came with the burrito was also really good. Everything was bursting with flavor! The chipotle chicken paella was filling and the perfect amount of food. One of the most satisfying delivery meals we've had in a long time. Can't wait to actually stop in and try more of their delicious dishes!

Amazing atmosphere, beyond delicious food, and kind and attentive staff! The fajitas are a 12/10 and great leftover, too. Drinks were memorable, and the staff were so helpful and nice. This is a fantastic place to bring a date, friends or family!

This is my 2nd time here. First time was a year ago. Both times were take out orders. First time I went food was amazing. This time we just ordered 2 chicken quesadillas. By time we went to pick up our order it was already 5 min past the time they said it will be ready. We sat there for almost 30 min due to them saying they had a catering order to get out. Mind you there were only 6 other customers there. While waiting they didn't offer any chips since we had to wait. Once we got our food, drove 5 min to get home just for my chicken quesadilla to look and taste how it looks. Never in my life have I had a soggy quesadilla, not even from Taco Bell. I'm so disappointed in the lack of quality they gave us. When have you ever been ble to stick a fork in a well prepared quesadilla.

Yum!! The Baja burrito with steak was delicious. My friends and I stopped in here on Friday night, and it was busy but we were well taken care of. Our food came out quickly once we ordered. The classic margarita is also very good!

Unique, inventive takes on Mexican and Latin cuisines with more-than-generous portions and spicy margaritas. I came to this place mainly because they were open late(r) and were in a part of PGH I hadn't visited yet. I got the tacos and they were unlike any I've ever had...in a good way. Almost a hybrid between multiple different taco variants. The most important thing is that, unlike so many SoCal-style taco interpretations, these didn't leave me wanting for more!

I have been to this place a few times. I liked it! I don't think it was anything to write home about but it's definitely a cozy spot with good vibes and comfortable food. The staff is amazing. I'd like to highlight Jordan, she was fantastic and very kind. The service was a 10/10 which made the place. El Sabor is also decorated for Christmas and it looks great. I recommend this spot!

Pooped in for lunch yesterday - a super sleepy Saturday. Fun, colorful vibe, though these poor people seem to constantly have to deal with road construction! Parking is rather challenging. That said, the place is worth it. You'll be rewarded with some of the best fresh guac I've had - most definitely the best in the Burgh. The "fresh guac" is under the app section. The guac under the chips section - the server told us - isn't necessarily fresh. "Could be from last night," she told us. It's around $8 vs the $15/$16 fresh option --- pricier but there's a lot of it. The chips were nicely toasty, corny - and not at all salty (hurrah!!). They have Negro Modelo on tap - double hurrah. Their tacos come 3 to a platter, so hubs and I split a platter of shrimp tacos w/ corn tortillas. It was more than enough food for us. The corn tortillas were flavorful and shrimp plentiful (nice roasted flavor)--- though I wish the cabbage had a spicy aioli mixed in as opposed to just plain raw cabbage. The tacos are accompanied by a green salsa & a spicy red. (If you want more salsa, you have to purchase it. The rice and beans was quite tasty. At first, I wasn't sure that the brown liquid next to the rice was actually beans -- it's puréed so finely - but it's packed with flavor. Yum. All in all - a great lunch. Can't wait to return and try some of their platter meals.

Small little hole in the wall restaurant in Penn Avenue. It's pretty cute on the inside. I sat at the bar and we were served pretty quickly. The bartender was very nice. I ordered the Fajita Trio with Steak, Shrimp and Chicken. The beans were watery and the rice was bland and hard. I will say that the steak was a decent flavor as well as the peppers and onions. For a quick bite it wasnt bad but I do prefer other places to this one.

    Chile rellenos.

Good. The fajita salad was probably something we could have cut from our order. Just get the fajitas and some other salad. The chile relenos was somewhat different from what I expected: the description suggested that this was more of a stuffed pepper type dish, but the reality was essentially a stuffed pepper swimming in cheese sauce. That's fine, but not what I was looking for. We'll adjust accordingly in the future. The tacos were good, but note that each taco order comes with three tacos (something that isn't entirely obvious when ordering, but certainly something that might have been implied). The vegetable fajitas were great and everything we would expect. In terms of ordering experience, that was all fairly easy. We did takeout this time, but the space is nice and would be an excellent dine-in destination. All told, this was a great experience that I would certainly recommend (and will try again).

The best Al Pastor I've had. Large pineapple chunks and super tasty pork. The cheese on top with the tomatillo green sauce made for a great combo. Rice was a good side too. Staff was very quick taking orders and bringing food out.

Such a great Mexican spot! Cozy inside with delicious drinks and food. We went around 6 on a weekday and had no problem picking a seat. Food was some of PGH's best Mexican. My girlfriend always gets a chicken quesadilla and said this was one of her favorites in the city. The chicken fajitas were yummy and not too oily. Great portion sizes for the price. Margaritas were the cherry (lime?) on top!

    Guacamole & Chips

This restaurant has been on my list for a few years! Happy to say it was worth the wait. We started off with appetizers, some chips and guacamole. The guacamole tasted amazing, and the pico on top is a great touch. For the main meal, I got the Pittsburgh style tacos with tofu and black beans and my friend got the Pittsburgh style tacos but with beef and black beans! While the beef/bean combo was not on the menu for the tacos, the waitress was still able to add that customization! Finally for dessert, we got the tres leches cake which was also amazing. As a vegetarian, this place is probably now my favorite Mexican restaurant in Pittsburgh!

Heads up, this location in Lawrenceville is a food truck. Not hating on food trucks, but I wish I had known that before going. It was chilly - though being from So Cal I'm usually cold out here. With that out of that way, dang it was good! I normally don't like drinks with flavors that overpower the espresso, but with the mocka latte I had, that's exactly what I wanted. The bittersweet flavor of the cacao shone through, like a indulgent dark chocolate. Haters gonna hate, but dark chocolate is one of the purest forms, and each sip gave me exactly what I was looking for. As for the arepas... Well, I've never had one before, so I don't have a measuring stick for this, but I really liked mine! I had the breakfast arepa with bacon. Scrambled eggs, nice bacon chunks, cheese, a little green sauce, all sandwiched in what I can only describe as like corn flatbread pieces. So good and surprisingly filling! I will probably go to the brick-and-mortar shop next to see how it compares, but if you're in the Lawrenceville area and want a unique pick-me-up, this is a great option.

I got roasted zucchini & corn for one and chicken al Pastor for the second. The diced, sautéed zucchini was cooked perfectly, but for some reason, the taco just lacked flavor, even after adding their tomatillo salsa and some crema. The chicken al Pastor taco was good, but it was a little dry. My husband thought the same about his. He did say his pork al Pastor taco was really good, though. Not dry at all. The difference might've been the diced chunks of pineapple that were visible in the pork taco. I wish they had more veg-friendly and seafood options! All of the tacos are on flavorful corn tortillas -- an authentic experience that's so appreciated! We've missed this kind of Mexican food after moving to Pittsburgh. We took advantage of the outdoor seating just outside of the grocery store. The owner told us he is --- in just 2 weeks -- opening a Mexican restaurant on the spot! Hurrah! Can't wait to return.
