I go here often, and love the pizza and service. I recently noticed that they are now putting less cheese on the pizzas, which is somewhat bothersome. On my most recent dining experience, one of the employees named Kia was very attentive to us while we were eating, offering to help clean our table and making casual conversation. I noticed her walking around checking in everyone, and also that she was speaking Spanish to some customers, which I thought was awesome and would help some customers feel more comfortable. If I could select zero 0 stars I would! I am a business professional with a Master's degree. I just went to Blaze Pizza today, 06/23/17, to pick up a pizza for lunch. I get to the cashier, and they have an open-faced cooler beside the cashier, so I selected an old-fashioned bottled coke and sat it on the counter in front of the cashier, waiting for her to ring up my sale. I ask her if she has something to open the coke with, and she responds "Yes, after you pay for it." I was very OFFENDED by this. So I call the manager. He says that people steal them. Again I tell him how OFFENDED I am and I ask him: "Where was I going to go? There's people behind me and people in front of me. Plus, the cashier's line and the dining room are separated by metal bars. Plus I had my credit card in hand waiting for her to ring up my sale...PREPARED to pay her. " In opinion the comment was uncalled for, but the manager says he is not the General Manager and cannot do anything about it. So I remove the coke and return it to the cooler and tell her to take it off my bill. I am not going to give them additional money for calling me a thief. That's not the end of it! Next, I drive back to my office and begin to eat my pizza. While in line, I had asked for regular marinara sauce, as opposed to their spicy sauce. What do I get on my pizza? Sauce with jalapenos in it. It's so spicy I can't eat it. I call the manager back. Now he is ready to refund me. I told him "No, you said you weren't the General Manager and couldn't do anything about the coke, so how can you do anything about the pizza if you aren't the General Manager." Lies all lies. I reminded him that instead of stealing a coke, he just stole $8.61 from me because they didn't give me what I asked for on my pizza. FYI...I'm having my credit card company reverse my charge. Suprisingly good pizza. The pizzas come in one size only (they appear to be about 12"); more than enough for one, but a bit small for two. The order process is cafeteria style -- walk the line and choose your toppings. You pay at the end of the line and wait (a short time) for your name to be called. Although you can build your pizza with any toppings you want, my wife and I each ordered a "Signature Pizza." She had the Art Lover and I had the Green Line. Both proved to be very good. What happened.... I've been to this location plenty of times since they opened. Crazy busy every time but always great pizza and friendly staff. Today, I ordered online as usual. I arrived to chaos. The line seemed to be at a standstill. There were at least 5 pies sitting out ready to be cut and served. Maybe there was someone new in training??? Finally someone senior walked to the area and got things moving. Somehow my order got lost in the mess. I saw a handful of people that came in after me get their pizza and sit down for lunch. Come to find out my pie was sitting there the entire time getting cold. If that wasn't the worst....not only did they short me the toppings...the roasted garlic was just about raw. Maybe they just need someone to put them back in the right direction. I will head back but it may be a while. read more

My original 2-star review from a couple of months ago is copied below, included here to demonstrate how far this restaurant has come. Four stars now easy! Blaze in Garner has got its act together. They have a well-oiled machine now, and worked well together. About 10 people were ahead of us in line, and this time our pizzas were in the oven about 10 minutes after we walked in. Much, much improved wait time. The pizzas this time were dramatically better than a couple of months before. I left a few slices on the table before, but this time we packed up every bite in take-home boxes. We even took the leftovers with us on vacation to make sure they didn't go to waste! Just a much, much better experience now than when they first opened. I'm happy to add Blaze to our list of regular dinner joints. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [From early May, 2016] [2 stars - Pizza was meh, nothing to write home about.] They brag about how quickly they cook their pizza, like in about 3 or 4 minutes. But they don't tell you how long it takes to get to those 3 or 4 minutes. The pizza was nothing special, but the wait was spectacular. We wanted to try Blaze Pizza (for the first time), but we walked out immediately- such poor attitude from the girl taking the order. We told her it was our first time and wanted to know if the dough was fresh and how to go about ordering.... she said NOTHING! I kid you not! She stood there like we were asking her for a kidney! No reaction, no greeting, no assistance.... NOTHING!!! A total shame, as we were excited to try it but she was horrible and unwelcoming- no desire to work (obviously) and she ruined the experience so we walked out (several other people walked out too). Outstanding pizza! Went in for the first time yesterday for lunch and was immensely surprised that the quality and more so the customer service was noticeably better than neighboring pizza chains. The manager James was on point and provided me with service on the level of the happy employees of Chik-Fi-La. The atmosphere is so vibrant and welcoming, and James made sure I was satisfied and walked me through the endless possibilities of pizza outcomes. It takes a lot for my husband and I to complain. We ordered online and waited almost an hour to get our pizza's. They forgot to put our order in. I called the store manager Sharon to let her know, and she blamed it on the new girl. She did not take responsibility or give a sincere apology. She claimed sometimes it happens and she can't be everywhere at once. In my opinion, she IS responsible for insuring her restaurant runs properly and orders aren't lost, and customers leave happy. Tonight was my first time ever coming to Blaze! I had the worst customer service from Kristin & Tara. They were extremely rude & were rushing us & they were not busy. I told Tara I had never been here but she could care less. I asked her was the dough wheat or just white she looked at me like I was stupid. I proceeded to build my own pizza Kristin stepped up. I asked if I could get sea salt & extra oregano she stated well there is some back in the back of the restaurant. Then when I walked up to pay it was a lady in front me so I was waiting for her. So I said you can go ahead Kristin looked at me like I did something wrong & said she already paid very snappy. Now how was I supposed to know that when I am clearly building my own pizza. My totally was 10.45 I handed Kristin my money 20 dollar bill she snatched it from me then dropped my change in my hand. Let's be clear I work with people everyday but her attitude was unnecessary as I am a new customer. Oh & Kristin snatched my friends debit card as well. Great food and service. My wife is gluten intolerant and very sensitive to cross contamination. The gluten free crust is quite good and the staff is very accommodating to the request to change gloves to prevent cross contamination. The manager is very friendly and always checks to make sure the pizza is cooked properly. Two thumbs up!! read more

I can't believe the amount of noise this place generates! The sounds of people talking including the blaring music they play bounces off the walls and ceiling and I can barely hear myself think. I can't even have a decent conversation with the person sitting across the table! I feel like I need to raise my voice and yell to speak. In addition, when a pizza is ready for pick up, the person yelling the names is very loud. I've been here on three separate occasions and you can barely hear the employees speaking to you in line, the line is long and slow, and the noise doesn't make it pleasant for you to sit inside and enjoy your meal. I will no longer be coming here due to the unpleasant environment. read more

Apparently the business model is to have the person adding the ingredients to put the smallest amount possible and hope the customer doesn't ask more a reasonable amount of a topping. For example other persons making the pizza add a full spoon of sauce. Mine got a full spoonful and then left half of it in the spoon. I will not be back. read more

Visited on a Friday evening with the family. Pros: great crust, quick, ability to customize. Cons: Pizza sauce is marginal at best, very noisy, no Beer or wine. Overall it is an "eh" kinda pizza place. Way to noisy to have a relaxed dining experience due mostly because the decor is all hard surfaces. Tried two different pizza sauces and both were very marginal. One had way too much of a tomato paste taste where the other was flat. Add that to no brew for your pizza adds up to a place I probably won't visit again. There's a locally owned pizza place less than five minutes away. I'll go there instead. read more

We ate at the Garner location for the first time. The food was very good and our kids loved the pizza, specifically the sauce. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by rude and uncaring employees who did not seem to even want to be working. We had contact with 4 employees and each one of them was not friendly, seemed annoyed to take our order or answer a question. The tables were crowded and we found one that was dirty. I asked if we could have it cleaned to a woman at the cash register who was just miserable and said she would take care of it. After our food was ready it was still dirty so I asked if I could clean it if they gave me a rag since it was busy. She said "I'll do it." Again, just rude. The employees taking the order were not remotely friendly or accommodating. Since this was our first time eating here we just asked what was in the roasted veggie salad. Instead of telling us she said "It's in the cooler down there." At the cooler there were none except Caesar salad. We have never dined anywhere and complained. Review: good food, decent prices and you will not feel welcome at all by employees who don't deserve to work here. read more

I love this pizza and fast concept! The people who work there now are a lot more friendly and helpful than before! It feels like a completely different store. After hearing how fabulous this pizza was, I finally drove 20 minutes to get one for myself. The service was very fast. When I walked in I had no idea which side to enter, there were two sides and no signs saying "enter here" so I went to the wrong side. No one acknowledged me, so I kind of walked around and finally asked someone and then they told me where to order. Anyway, the cheese on top was great, the toppings were awesome, the flavor was very very good but the crust... no I didn't care for it. It was thin and VERY chewy. Apparently, there was a misunderstanding about being "present" to purchase your own pizza. The manager may remember asking, after meeting the two of them, "do you have 10 people with you?". Great pizza! Lousy service. The problem is that it's all kids working there who would rather socialize with each other than actually listen to your answers to their questions. No "adult" present. I mistakenly assumed the first person would ask me which type of crust (thin or thick) I would like. When they started making my pizza and I ask for the thick crust the girl said I was supposed to tell her, not that's it's her job or anything but why should she assume everyone wants thin crust? I was asked if I wanted oregano, I said no but the guy while talking to his coworker put it on anyway. This happened a couple of times. Then when our order came out of the oven it sat there for almost 5 minutes while they chatted and then proceeded to take care of other pizzas that had just come out of the oven. Very disappointing - not truly allergy friendly as advertised. We have young kids with significant food allergies, and we were excited because we thought we finally found an allergy friendly pizza place where they could eat. Although it advertises dairy and gluten free pizza, the staff was not trained on handling allergy friendly food. They cross-contaminated the "allergy friendly" pizzas. They handled "gluten free" pizza on the same surface as regular pizza and got dairy products on the pizza that was supposed to be vegan. The staff also seemed bothered by the request for allergy friendly pizza, and the management showed little concern when this issue was brought to its attention. It is especially disappointing when you pay almost 40% more to get an allergy friendly pizza. If you claim to have an allergy friendly product, you need to provide the product as advertised. Very disappointing for our kids and concerning for those with allergies who think they're getting an allergy friendly pizza. read more

Overall a good experience at Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza. The pizza was good and fresh; the thin crust was crisp and the pizza served hot from the oven. I can't discuss toppings because I shared a pie with my daughter so it was plain - by choice. I would chose here over a Lil' Cesaer's any day. However, the place was not clean on a mid-Sunday afternoon. Stuff on the floors and tables needed to be wiped down. The Orange-lemonaide was empty and grated cheese and other spices were almost impossible to find. The garbage was overflowing and the ladie's room was out of paper. Since you don't get plates; clean tables are a must if you are sharing a pie. Well, clean tables are a must always and I wish they had someone attending the dining area. Felt the need to use hand sanitizer before and after eating. It's the little things, and checking on the "atmosphere" your customers are in is crucial. read more
