Blaze is a great spot for a quick coal-fired pizza. A pizza and cheesy bread will last me 2-3 meals. Here's my build your own (BYO) pizza topping choices: original crust, classic red sauce, mozzarella cheese, ricotta on half, pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, red peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, roasted garlic. After the pizza came out of the oven I asked for an olive oil drizzle and arugula on top. Sometimes I'll get the pizza with red sauce and a pesto drizzle on top for more flavor, but I didn't this time since I got the pesto cheesy bread. The pizza and cheesy bread both came out in about 10-15 minutes. No line on a weeknight. Price came out to about $17 with tax. Overall I'm a fan of the BYO pizza concept, like Pieology or Mod Pizza. One thing that differentiates Blaze is they offer roasted garlic as a topping, which gives a great depth of flavor. I like the BYO option so that I can load it up with toppings, but they also have pre-set pizzas you can order if you find it a hassle to name each ingredient you want. This Blaze has declined badly recently especially with customer service. They use to have very friendly and good service but after today, it appears they do not value it anymore. I ordered a pick up build your own pizza on the blaze app. The employee was adamant that my order did not go through as there was no pick up under my name. A few minutes later, she then realized the pizza she was creating was for me which was a waste of both our times. I then asked if I could get a side of ranch because I forgot to add it on my order. She claimed that I would have to pay for it even though it's not even extra. This employee was unprofessional and incompetent. The pizza itself was also partially burnt. I also never received a feedback email that they typically ask so I am not sure if they just don't care about customers anymore. I live nearby this Blaze Pizza location, so it's really convenient to be able to stop in and grab pizza to go when I don't feel like cooking. I placed an order online through the app and made my way to the restaurant to pick up. I was a few minutes early, but the cashier set me up with my drink and a table while I waited. She was really nice and provided excellent customer service. The food here is consistently good. White Top MVP. I've had numerous of their other premades, but I almost always get the White Top (with pesto drizzle and spinach on occasion) and always get launched into my happy place for the duration of the meal. Seriously, every time I take the first bite, I think to myself, "man this is a good pizza." I'll admit I wasn't a believer of the white sauce at first, but you have to try it! It's like Alfredo sauce. The White Top may not be the healthiest thing (creamy sauce and bacon bits) but if you're going to a pizza joint, chances are you won't mind. If you're more of a red sauce kind of person (and like spicy), the spicy tomato sauce is amazing! It's actually spicy, which is why it's amazing. Note that the premades are the same price as the build your own, so you're free to add as many toppings as you want to a premade if you want to add some flair or just feel like you're not getting your money's worth. Other tidbits: line is always long at peak lunch hours but goes fast, no line for dinner, plenty of indoor seating, outdoor seating, good service. I purchased this through the app, entered the promo and saw that it was going to charge me the expected price - one pizza plus the taxes. I places my order, but there must have been a glitch in the system matrix style because when I checked the receipt it charged me to full amount and made no mention of the BOGO. I subsequently contacted Blaze via their website who said they would forward my complaint to location owner. *crickets* I followed up again via email, stating I had not yet been contacted by the owner. *crickets* If you're not going to honor your BOGO coupon, then please don't offer it in the first place. I think was my first visit to a Blaze anywhere, but not my first trip to a fast food pizza joint. My daughter and I came by for lunch yesterday. It was not super quick...even though we ordered pretty simple things (dough knots, a Simple Pie and a one-topping pizza), they all came out separately, so it took about 15 minutes to get all of our food. So, that's my review of the service: meh. But the food tasted OK and all of that food plus a soda cost $19.96, so for $10/person the value is there. Good space and high table turnover, so it was easy to grab a table at 12:20 on a busy Friday. And the menu has plenty of options to go around. When you think of pizza for lunch, you usually think of either a 45-minute wait (ie Gino's East, Giordono's, etc) or yucky pizza that is somewhat fast, like Dominos, Sbarros, Little Caesar's, etc. Thankfully, Blaze is well... Blazing fast. Pizzas made to order within 5-minutes! Much like comparing any fast-casual place to a Chipotle-style setup, Blaze pizza is no different. The staff are super-nice and they ask automatically whether it's your first time there or not. If it is, they are more than happy to explain the process. First you get a pre-rolled pizza crust. They have other varieties such as high-rise dough or gluten-free crusts, but that takes a little longer to prepare (maybe another minute or so). Blaze has different choices of pizza to choose from, such as a 1-topping pizza, or some pre-defined signature pizzas such as "meat eater" and "bbq chkn". I usually go with a build-your-own and just pick all the toppings I want: regular tomato sauce, mozarella cheese, bleu cheese, garlic cloves, bacon, artichoke hearts, chicken, spinach... all that fo' just under $9! Pay after you select your toppings, wait about 3-minutes, they'll call out your name, and then as a final touch, you can ask them to sprinkle some arugula and have them drizzle some final sauces, such as a buffalo. Pizza always comes out delicious. I topping are stellar (I picked em!) and the crusts is nice and flaky. The crust is not too much, where I don't feel like discarding them uneaten, which is what I commonly do in other places. Oh, and the kicker is that they have a nutrition calculator online, so if you're a health nut and do IIFYM, you can definitely fit in a pizza! This is where pizza meets Chipotle. Well actually Subway started the 'build your own' meal craze (but Chipotle receives all the credit). Blaze uses this same approach for building your own pizza. With the exception of the crust, every other ingredient is selected by the customer. From the sauce to the seasoning the choice is yours. They have all fresh ingredients and with the 'build your own' pizza you select as many (or few) as you want. They do have some standard pizzas available but why would you come here for that? The staff is super friendly and helpful. On my first visit I appreciated them asking if it was my first time and then guiding me to the process. The person who helped me was extremely patient as I went down the line deciding what I wanted. After building your pizza, they put it blazing fire oven and 180 seconds later your name is called to pick up your pizza. Both times I've been here I ate my pizza in their dining area (which has a cool and casual feel to it) which allowed me having my pizza almost immediately after it came out of the oven. The flavor was amazing; extremely fresh. Unfortunately on both visits I did not have any leftovers so I cannot comment on how it is when warmed up the next day. If Blaze is in your area and you have not checked them out; shame on you. Get moving. And if you happen to visit a city that has a Blaze (as I did), be sure to check them out. You will not regret it. If the line is long when you enter, don't worry it moves fast. Remember, Fast-Fire'd is in their name. So a blazing hot oven + dedicated elfs + 180 seconds = fast-fire'd, perfectly crisp perfection. When it was time for me to order, I chose the Meat Eater. My 11" pizza (they only come in one size) was covered in pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, red onions, red sauce and mozzarella cheese. It's cacophonous and confusing. I got the Veg Out and they added onions, mushrooms, and broccoli but skipped the spinach, tomatoes, and other veggies. Not exactly a "veg out" if you ask me. It was pretty good aside from the outer crust, which was bitter and burnt. The gorgonzola was a little too potent for the mix, too. The crust is really thin and the oven must be ridiculously hot, so it cooks pretty quickly. As thin as the crust is, the pizza is like... 10" at least, so you feel very satisfied after finishing it. Come in before 11:30 if you wish to dine in, and apparently you can place an order online and go to the cash register to avoid the line. I love the simplicity of the pizza and the fact that it is not as overwhelming as a deep dish. The service here is usually okay, but not always consistent. Sometimes the line moves quickly and other times the people who work there disappear to the back which leaves the people in the front scrambling to take all of the orders and yelling for them to come back. The pizza is cooked in a really cool oven and it is ready in a matter of minutes. They have specialty pizzas but you can create your own for only $8.75! If you're a fan of really thin crispy pizza, this place is a must try. Don't be intimated by the long lines you might see stretching out of the door.
