Okay, honestly, you could probably split this pizza with someone, but I'm selfish and I love to eat, so I didn't share. I got the white pizza, and it was the perfect meal. The crust was light and not too thick, and the white pizza also came with bacon! Some sort of greenery was sprinkled on top, and so that allowed me to convince myself that it was healthy. We also got Dough Knots and they were basically like a carb muffin served with marinara sauce. Not necessarily remarkable, but still tasty. Similar to Oath (actually good pizza) they have the build your own pizza model where you start from scratch and tell the staff which toppings you want on the pie. They put it through an oven for about 2 minutes and bang you have cooked pizza ready in about 3-4 minutes. Cool model but the pizza is no bueno. Just not good and it's hard to get a pepperoni pizza wrong. Word of advice is instead of blaze pizza go to Oath. Much better quality and taste. read more

After a gym workout, I found myself craving some cheesy and tomatoey pizza. And, you know, I did have the thought that, if I caved to the craving, I might nullify the effect of the workout-- but having recently watched the Netflix episode of Ugly Delicious about pizza, and having expended my self-control credits for the day, I was powerless to resist. Damn it, Netflix. I hopped over to Blaze, a quick serve pizza joint. Upon my getting in line, the staff were friendly and welcoming, asking me if I'd been at Blaze before and giving me a brief but informative run-down of the options. I ordered the Link In, so called to be a clever twist on LinkedIn and to refer to the links of sausage from which the featured topping came. It was cool that we could modify it with whatever we wanted for no extra charge. I added on spinach, mushrooms, garlic, pepperoni, broccoli, and oregano onto the existing red pepper, mozzarella, red sauce, sausage, sautéed onions. The staff were energetic and efficient, with the workers, assembly-line-style, dealing with topping the pizzas, then processing orders, moving pizzas through the large pizza oven, cutting and boxing them. They also routinely exclaim "hot!" loudly as they remove pizzas from the oven to the cooling plates. Which is initially startling and takes a little getting used to. Glad I took my pizza to go, though. As for the taste of the pizza--my first thought was: Hm, could use some more salt. Definitely not a bad pie, and overall a satisfying one, but with the bar set high from the Ugly Delicious episode, I wasn't immediately blown away. Another thing I noticed was that the pie's taste was pretty heterogeneous; that is, one bite was garlicky and almost spicy, another cheesy and mild, another tomatoey and saucy, and another had a distinct broccoli flavor. Now, of course, with all the toppings I had, this makes sense, but maybe one thing I've learned is to not overload the pizza. There's probably a reason why the standard Link In only has five ingredients versus the 11 I had. So to get a more consistent and maybe less chaotic tasting experience, I probably would suggest not overdoing it on loading up the pizza. Each of the multiplicity of tastes in the pizza was by no means bad - each taste felt like good ingredients and was tasty if a little under-salted. The overloaded pizza needed a fork, or at least another hand to support the drooping end that wasn't held by my first hand. (My "first hand"? That's a weird way to describe one's own appendages.) In all, I'd say my experience with Blaze's pizza was good but not outstanding. My suggestion: don't overload the pizza. read more

I've had a great experiences at the Blaze downtown, but the Fenway location has just never been as good. The set up is worse and the staff doesnt seem as well trained. I'd gone a couple times and it was just okay, but today I went and had a really awful experience. I went in around 3pm and there was one person ahead of me in line. The person behind the counter took his order and wrote it on the little paper. He then took my order and the order of the person behind me, telling each of us "someone will be with you as soon as possible." After writing down our orders, he looked around aimlessly for a minute and took a few steps away, before deciding to start the first customer's pizza extremely slowly. Meanwhile, the store manager stood behind him, not facing us, loudly singing Ariana Grande. As the first customer was being helped, the store manager came over and started making 2 pizzas in a pick-up order. He did not acknowledge me or the other person standing in line waiting to have our orders made. He avoided all eye contact with us and continued singing what had now become a loud duet with the guy at the pizza oven. He took his time throwing toppings on the pizzas and did it like he thought he was in some kind of cooking show music video. A sense of urgency would've been appreciated and I considered walking out. The first employee came back over and tried to figure out how to make dough for our pizzas, as there wasn't any set up. After he made dough for me, the manager came over to set up my pizza. I asked for alfredo sauce and he corrected me that it's just "white cream sauce." Next I asked for red sauce dollops and he corrected me to tell me I just meant red sauce too, and not the red sauce dollops they apparently only add at the end. It was particularly off-putting especially after the rest of the experience. I can't imagine why on earth you'd treat customers this way. Shout out to the Blaze chain. Like other locations, this stop offers soy-free vegan options, including vegan cheese. It is truly a life saver for any soy-free vegans heading to a game at Fenway. The staff were fabulous and took extra care to change gloves and the pizza cutter. They assigned someone to make sure there wasn't any problem as my pizza went through the line. That kind of detail is top-notch for food allergies. The only reason this didn't get a five-star is I've noticed that at all Blaze locations my vegan pizza turns out extra crispy (aka burnt crust). Blaze is a customize your own pizza restaurant where you can see your pizza being constructed and put together right in front of you. You can pick the sauce, the cheese (love mozzarella and blue cheese combo), a bunch of different meats and a decent selection of veggies. At the end you can attach a side order of garlic knots or a tasty smore dessert. For $9 having your own custom pizza built in front of you is pretty cool. The pizza is not entirely thin crust, but thin crust would be the best description for it so if you don't like thin crust then make sure to keep the thicker crust option. The wide variety of toppings definitely makes it worth it. Sometimes this place gets very busy and I feel it could have a more streamlined system, but since each pizza is custom made it can take a while to finally get your order. A lunch staple for me and my co workers, blaze is great for filling the pizza craving. For people looking for the absolute best pizza slice, ditch that mindset before coming here. read more

This has been a terrible and disappointing experience. We ordered a delivery that took more than 1 hour and 2 calls to arrive. When the pizza finally got to us, they were all cold. We were unsure how long ago the pizzas were made, as from Grubhub pickup to delivery to our door it only took 5 minutes, so the pizzas were just sitting at the restaurant. Not only was delivery late, they had our order wrong and gave us the wrong pizza. I contacted Blaze through Facebook messenger the next day. Offered a free pizza code loaded to my app. The order was two pizzas and sides, so the compensation was not even half the order. I asked for a full refund, they said the Fenway is a franchise location, so the store owner would have to contact me. Two weeks has passed and no one called me. If you go to the Fenway store, you will see how highly unorganized the team is and also how they're all very poker-faced to customers and just seem very unhappy working there. My first time here was not so great, since my pizza turned out a bit soggy. My 2nd time here I read reviews, ordered the White Special Pizza, and ordered the Prickly Cactus Pear drink. It was delicious!!! The drinks really add to the meal (you better believe I also tried their blood orange and lime mint! - both of which are also really good btw). The cashier told me they are sparkling waters with infused flavor, but they are not carbonated - which is a plus in my book. Why would you want to ruin your teeth with acid?!
