We stumbled upon this place while walking by the water in Camden. We were sold when we learned we could bring our pups and sit on the deck. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. The management was clearly doing a good job managing the seating to ensure all the diners had a good experience despite the challenging labor shortage. We'll definitely be going back. read more

Everything we ordered from this place was great. I got the Fish tacos & Parmesan truffle wings & it was all tasty :) we will be back to explore more of the menu! read more

To start, I am a loyal customer since you opened. I have eaten here (usually lunch) at least once a week. My husband and I came to dinner tonight. We aren't afraid to spend some money when we go out--but the hidden charges and upcharges tonight were new and disgusting. Since it was 10pm, we weren't starving and ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and we split a burger with smoked mozzarella and bacon. We ordered our burger MR to M and it arrived well done. We didn't mention the temp because we could deal with it. My husband had a $10 bourbon and I had a beer---but we had each tasted a beer after our server recommending a couple to try. Upon receiving our bill, I was discouraged to see that we were charged $1.50 for ice ($10 bourbon on the rocks), $0.75 cents (x2) for the two sips of beer, and our "starting at $12 build your own burger" ended up costing $16 (which is MORE than most of the completely loaded burgers). None of the burger upcharges were listed on the menu but we thought just cheese and bacon wouldn't put it over the burgers including 4-5 toppings. Our service was more than acceptable- Amelia did a fine job tonight. I may continue to come for lunch on occasion--as I feel I am respected and treated well by your lunch staff (Fai especially)---but I don't think my husband and I will return to dinner. There are plenty of other options in Bangor. read more

Fantastic atmosphere at Blaze and cute downtown location. Brunch was a hit. Welcoming staff and delicious food, well priced.

Food was good, lots of options. Service was pleasant. I'd recommend the pizza! Drinks were a little pricy but will go back.

Looking for a good, casual restaurant in Camden and Yelp says this one rocks, so we gave it a try. First, it is a great atmosphere inside, right on the water. Second, Travis the bartender did a great job waiting on us. Third, I drink but my husband doesn't, so we always love a good bar that has a non-alcoholic beer, and they had 2! Fourth, the PIZZA! The house-made ingredients are noteworthy in their quality and taste--especially the mozzarella! Caesar salad was delicious and huge (enough for 2 to split) and made salad and a pizza the perfect lunch for 2. Loved it! read more

Beer selection was first rate with 50 on tap options. Very supportive of local breweries. Food selection and preparation was awesome. Burgers were great ( with the options of beef, duck, veggie. Fries cooked in duck fat were great Our next visit we ordered pizza and it was also excellent. Service was very good. See Jake behind the bar for any questions Very good stop on the way to the airport. read more

This was right next door to our hotel and offered both pizza and a lobster roll for our party so we had to hit it up. Friday (6:30ish pm) in August and we were seated right away. Ordered appetizer of duck fries followed with a build your own pizza and aforementioned lobster roll and salad. The duck fries sounded a little overboard but they were great, seasoned well and really full of flavor. The pizza was great with the dough nice and crispy and the toppings great. The lobster roll was good but not great, it was ever so slightly over cooked and not quite as fall apart in my mouth as others but the flavors were there and the wood firing of the bread added a really good flavor. I would definitely get the pizza and fries again but for the lobster roll being twice as much as anything else and not perfect I would just try something else. So I would come back I would just order differently. The atmosphere and ambience were stellar and our server was very polite and helpful. read more

I was in Bangor from Chicago on vacation. The hotel recommended Blaze and it exceeded all expectations. Large selection of Cocktails and Craft Bwera. We started with the fried Brussels sprouts which were delicious. I had the ribs with the cherry glaze Barbeque sauce. They were outstanding and deliver on a butcher black with Corn bread-'d MacnCheese. My wife had one a the many great burgers that come with French fries cooked in Duck Fat. Service was excellent amd they were crowed. My server was Jason who was very knowledgeable. read more

Mixed review. The first time we came the kitchen had some issue and they had a very limited menu. the food that we ordered was quite good and the fire roasted pizza was tasty and they had a good selection of micro brews on tap. Overall it was quite enjoyable so when we passed through Camden a few days later with friends we decided to revisit the location. Unfortunately this time they were not only unable to seat our party, which was understandabe, as we were a group of nine people, but then when we Requested separate tables one for each family they were unable to accommodate us though several families who walked up immediately after us of equal size (and without reservations) were seated immediately. read more

I quite adore this place! Twice I've had dinner at one of the tables, and once at the bar. Each time the service was great, the food was delicious, and they are open late, which I really appreciate! They're also one of the few places downtown that's open late where you can sit and have a conversation, if you're not feeling like live music that day. They have a terrific draft selection, including Lindemann's Framboise on tap! Their pizzas are terrific, and more than enough for one person to end up with leftovers. They also have a milkshake special, and it's always fun to see what the chef will create. The general manager and I had a great conversation, and he is super knowledgeable and friendly. A great addition to downtown Bangor! read more

Just awesome! I had tasty beet salad to start, a blaze burger (subbed the meat with a Hand made quinoa patty that was done perfectly) with duck fat fries, and some fried ice cream for dessert. Tremendous flavors all around. Super impressed with food and the personable staff and chefs. Atmosphere is great. read more

The hostess was so rude. My family and I are on vacation from out of town and requested a table of 6. The hostess said "I can't seat you, like seriously it's Fourth of July weekend" in the most condescending voice. Completely understandable that they didn't have a table but the way it was communicated was extremely unprofessional. read more

Three of my six oysters on the half shell had shell fragments in them. Never had this happen before, can only assume the person shucking them was not doing it correctly. The briquet tacos were ok but the cheese over powered the flavor of the meat. The waitress was very friendly and the service was excellent. It was worth trying but I don't plan on coming back. read more

10/10 recommend this place. We were looking for a delicious pizza and we got it! We also got poutine which was so good. Definitely try this place!! read more

This is a great place to try if you are in Bangor! I'd definitely go here again.

Four of us went in on a Monday afternoon and had a great time! We were seated at a nice table near the bar and the pizza oven; quiet but busy atmosphere. Food was hot and well prepared, service was quick and attentive, selection on the menu was good, prices reasonable. I'll gladly return. read more

We had dinner here. The restaurant is situated in a happening place. We ordered a make our own pizza with bell pepper and red onions. Was really good. Service and staff were very nice! read more

Outdoor dining at Blaze is great. The food is good, the drinks are good, the atmosphere on a late spring day or summer evening is relaxed and easy. Servers are great if you are fully vaxed. If not, beware: half of them can't keep a mask over their noses. Since management doesn't require proper masking from waitstaff, I doubt it's better in the kitchen. read more

Beet salad was great. Good martini. Burgers were well received by the group. Bruschetta was perfectly presented. Yea BLAZE!! But wth is the cop doing out front?? read more

Blaze - Best poutine ever! - Bars Near Me - Bangor, Maine

Very cool place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Great selection of beer etc. Wood fire pizza delicious. Tacos were excellent. All in all great choice when your in bangor. Great menu. To bad we are so far away. read more

So burgers and pizzas are always decent and the beer selection is really good. BUT never ever ever get an entree here. The poutine is very good but 14 bucks for some fries? Come on. We got the potato crusted haddock which was alright. Not sure what it was supposed to be served in but it was garbage. The steak frites. The steak was ok nothing to write home about, and the Parmesan fries were basically super salted fries. Both didn't have veg with it. All in all $111 bucks for mediocrity. Don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

The servers were nice but the service was so incredibly slow, especially considering that it was not at all busy. I went with a small group (5 total) and it took nearly an hour from placing the order until we received the food. The server informed us multiple times that the food would be right out. When I asked what was taking so long she told us that there was only one waffle iron, and because three of us ordered waffles it was taking a while. If that is information we had known, we probably would have ordered something different. The people at the table next to us ordered just before we did and received their meals and finished eating before our food finally came out. When the food did come out, my waffles were barely above room temperature. I am not at all impressed- will not be returning nor will I be recommending to others, which is disappointing because I had heard good things about Blaze. read more

Great vibe, warm and inviting atmosphere! The staff were pleasant! The drink menu/offering has to be one of the largest around! My wife and I both had burgers. I went with the Appliciatia burger. The pork, type of cheese and sauce combination was outstanding! The fries were something else too! I think the price was very fair and that I've now found yet another great Resturant to hit up when visiting! Nothing bad to say at all about the experience. read more

I have never posted a review but felt I had to. Both the service and food were absolutely terrible. We were left at our seat for 15 minutes before our waiter came to the table. We were then told that the kitchen was running slow.. did we want to stay? We waited 45 minutes to get seated then he tells us how slow the kitchen was. Tables who arrived after us were served in about 15 minutes. We waited 35 minutes for our appetizers (which were not good) with not one check in from the waiter. Water.. that was provided in plastic cups! When the sandwiches finally arrived they were passableBay beat but the fries were so greasy and burned they were inedible. I'm not a food snob or high maintenance but this visit was awful. The restaurant was not busy. Not sure what the issue was but until they figure it out.. I'd avoid! read more

Just for the record! I have been frequenting this fine establishment on average of 2 to3 days a week. Monday night burger, a weekend dinners and mostly likely a Sunday brunch. It's not often I respond to reviews but one can take my word that if I didn't think this place wasn't tops and consistently tops for my casual dining and just an al around great place to chill and just enjoy. Thank you Blaze team! read more

Host was horrible , a little dismissive and did not make us feel comfortable. Our waitress was wonderful , professional and knowledgeable. The food was so so not worth the trip but filled us up. If it wasn't fo the waitress I would have given one star . Maybe a hangover place but not a foddie place . read more

This was a nice establishment for a relaxing dinner. My boyfriend and I got burgers, which had a really great flavor. We also loved the french fries; definitely a different flavor than regular restaurant fries. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated as well, and the outdoor seating was a comfortable touch. read more

Ew disgusting. Outdoor service was unbearably slow. 20 min for drinks and 45+ for food. Flies and yellow jackets everywhere. Burger order medium rare arrive well done bordering on burnt. Toppings flavorless. Roasted vegetables tasted turned like almost rotten and salad dressing awful. No! read more

Blaze is an urbanite's dream right in downtown Bangor - it's reminiscent of trendier brunch places found in the bigger cities, but with friendlier staff! I especially appreciate the creative brunch menu, although it makes it hard to narrow down what to order. The brunch pizza is incredible - savory, sweet, and the perfect size for an ambitious eater to make it a personal pizza. I will say that the carafes of mimosas usually have a lot of ice in them, but alas are still a better deal than individual drinks. read more

The bbq chicken pizza was small and barely had cheese (or any toppings for that matter). The lettuce in the salad was limp, strawberries were moldy, and the vinegarette was bitter. The service was friendly, but very slow. Many other decent restaurants, I'd skip this one. read more

This visit was truly a bummer. We stopped here based on reviews and fully expecting the food to live up to the hype. I'll begin by saying that the staff were very friendly and accomodating throughout our experience. Most of the people at our table ordered burgers and a few had salads. Of the three burgers we ordered, we asked specifically for one of the patties to be re-made only because the patty was clearly burned (I mean like char-burned). In the back of my mind I wondered if this was just something unique to the way burger pattys are cooked at this style of restaurant, but my burger patty and my friends was also burned (we didnt' check but you could taste it no doubt). We were so hungry neither of us complained and choked down a burger that tasted more like the bottom of the grill. Super bummer. Could this be the result of just a busy night and an oversight of the cook? Possibly, but the restaurant (indoor and outdoor) was not even halfway full. Regardless, the staff were friendly and we left a decent tip but I will say that if you stop by here, probably best to be clear on how you want your food cooked and might be worth doing a quick look over to make sure its cooked to spec. Sounds snooty but if you're dropping that much cash for a restaurant burger it's probably worth making sure it's cooked just the way you want it. read more

Food was very much overpriced . The servers didn't explain why it took over an hour to get served. They ended up apologizing and stating they only had one cook on for Sunday lunch. The food wasn't that great and we were definitely dissapointed even though previous reviews had been great. Service very bad! Wont' come back here again. read more

We decided to try this place because of all the good yelp reviews. We so wanted to love this place. However, we were not pleased by the amount of wait time for our food. We waited an hour for salads to come out as our appetizer. The salad was okay (the dressing was bland and there were too many red onions). It took an additional 25 minutes for our pizzas to come out. We made our own pizza with ricotta base, bacon, and roasted red peppers. It was pretty good (we love wood fired pizza). However, they charge for the sauce ($2) and each topping also was a charge bringing the total for a 12" inch pizza to $21.50. I have no problems paying for that if the pizza was exceptional but we were disappointed. We had two small children with us and 2 hours from start to finish for our meal was way too long!! The restaurant was not busy at this time either. The server was very friendly as well as the host. read more

Have you ever been to one of those places that thinks their restaurant is so amazing that they can't see how wrong things are? That's Blaze. A bunch of hipster wannabes that don't think they need to provide good service because they're "cool". Food is great, really it's delicious. The back of house gets all the credit. What the hell is wrong with the bartender??? Not only can the guy not say a nice thing to his customers, he takes forever (not just with me, I'm speaking for the whole bar), he can't say hello, thank you, or do something genuinely nice. I guess the guy feels entitled, because according to the host, "he's won awards". Jesus people, how can I say this politely...um YOUR S**T STINKS!!! Learn to listen to your customers and take a good look at your crappy establishment. Maybe you just like it that way...I sure don't. read more

First off, neat atmosphere...bar area us pretty, multiple table areas, looking into the kitchen and seeing the pizza oven. Staff was really friendly and service was quick. And the food was great - I got the Fig and Ricotta pizza and ate the whole thing to myself!! Have a lot of beer and wine choices so everyone should be happy! read more

Quite possibly the worst experience it was embarrassing how bad the service was they should seriously just fold up and leave town like a cheap circus tent read more

After traveling 5 hours, my buddies and i were looking forward to a good meal in downtown Bangor and this place was a complete let down. The service was slow, the food was undercooked, and the portion sizes were minuscule compared to their extremely high prices.
