This was my first time ever in Bangor and I had such an Amazing dinner here it made my vacation! Our server Taylor D was super sweet and attentive, even though she was quite busy I didn't feel I had to wait long and the food and drinks were delicious! I will be coming again, thanks for the lovely evening Taylor! :) read more

While starting our overlanding trip to meet up in the great North, we jumped off the highway in Bangor and located Timber. A restaurant connected to a hotel. We sat outside as dogs are allowed and we had our with us. Staff brought out a huge water bowl and were super sweet to our Australian Shepard. Food was stellar. Look at that salad, it was Huge!! Comfortable outside seating and plentiful. Great spot, want to come back and try other dishes. read more

Arrived around 6:00 and had about a 5 minute wait. The restaurant is so warm and inviting. We ordered two cocktails both very tasty. For dinner I ordered the fish and chips which were prepared perfectly crunchy and flaky fish. My husband ordered the lobster pizza. Flavorful thin crusty undercarriage. We both enjoyed our meals. Waitress was very sweet however service a little slow. The restaurant was packed which is always a good sign. read more

We were completely blown away by Timber Kitchen. Honestly, this was the best meal we had during our entire trip through Maine and New Brunswick. We tried the lobster bisque, lobster mac & cheese, a burger with truffle fries, a wood-fired pizza, and finished with the homemade Maine blueberry pie from their in-house pastry chef. Every single dish was outstanding. The flavors, quality, and execution were exceptional from start to finish. The biggest surprise? It's located in a Residence Inn. Don't let that fool you--this is a destination restaurant in its own right. A special thanks to our server, Nick, whose recommendations were spot on. He was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helped make an already fantastic meal even better. Hands down, one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time and easily the best food we had anywhere in Maine or Canada during our trip. read more

Looking for food a little later in the evening in Bangor and decided to try this. A little skeptical as it's in a hotel but was pleasantly surprised. The lobster bisque was a stand out but the Cobb salad with chicken was delicious as well. They really know how to cook chicken correctly. And you get a lot of chicken (this was a double serving of chicken). The salmon salad was okay and I wouldn't get it again. read more

Amazing staff and meal. We sat outside because we had our pup and they brought her water. The food is amazing, I wish they were closer but if I am ever in Bangor I will be going back. Inside is beautiful you don't even realize it is attached to a hotel. read more

One of Bangor's best. Great service. Excellent ambience. Terrific food offerings with many choices. Wedge salad was fresh and abundant. Prime rib was "as good as it gets". Scallops were prepared very well... only criticism is the cost: mixed drinks average 15 bucks, generous wine pours are about the same,.... Nearly 150 including tip... ALOT for two diners... but you won't go away hungry... just pocket-empty... sign of the times I suppose... "Timber" desires with a 'Wendy's wallet'... poor old retired public servant!! read more

Good restaurant on the first floor of the Residence Inn hotel. Patio seating is great when the weather is nice. Good salads with fresh greens, citrus, salmon, and goat cheese. The lobster pizza was tasty, too, a good dish to share. Nice option if you are staying in the area. read more

I Had the buffalo dip. Very heavy on Frank's red hot Would not order it again. The pizza was very good. The wife had Barata, which was very spicy, but she liked it I will probably go back. read more

The food was exceptional, both in taste and presentation. Our server was attentive and ensured we had everything we needed. The atmosphere was pleasant, although we did experience some difficulty communicating due to the noise level in our seating area, which was a challenge for our elderly companion. I was underwhelmed. For prices like these I had way higher expectations. The broccolini was so bad, I spit it out into my napkin. I'm not from here so all I heard about was main lobster well, I've had better lobster at red lobster. It was really dry and hard to pick out of the shell, I had to ask for butter and accompaniments. The ribeye was decent, but other than that everything else was disappointing Service was subpar. Bartender was visibly annoyed because I didn't order any alcohol. This is $80. I'd like to have back. read more

Very fancy atmosphere. I always enjoy the pumpkin soup when they have it. The squash ravioli are very good too.

I almost always love timber for their food and drinks. The only issue that lies herein is how they treat customers. My friend was threatened in this establishment and even tho he was a VIP customer, the restaurant provided zero support and wouldn't even call the cops despite claiming they did. read more

Always a wonderful experience whether your looking for a dinner or a nice evening date. Food is always very fresh, hot, and prepared well.

It is clear this is the "fancy" restaurant in town. Traveling for work our party of 2 were seating quickly and service was fast and efficient. Prime rib with mashed potatoes is what my co worker ordered and said it was just ok. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was a large size and VERY delish. I also got the crab cakes (for my meal) and they were just ok. If I make it back to this area of the state I would try again as many of the pasta and pizza options look yummy! read more

Very consistent with their food! From a burger to pizza, to pastas. Great surroundings!

Hotel restaurants don't always have the same allure for me, but this place was hopping and I can't say enough good things about it! Wonderful service, starting with hostesses and ending with the wait staff and clean up crew. Upscale dining, but not crazy prices. Complimentary bread and an extensive kids menu. It's so unusual to get to enjoy fine dining AND be able to find a kid friendly meal! Beautiful decor, comfy cushioned seats, clean and not spacious. Indoor and Outdoor seating. The blueberry cobbler martini was so pretty and tasted just as good. The fired pizza, seared scallops, and Mac n cheese were all above average. So flavorful! Highly recommend Timber! read more

What an experience. First of all the service was phenomenal. Alivia our waitress was super friendly, patient and very proactive. My son and my husband both said if we lived closer we would come every week. But alas we live four hours away on Boston so it is not to be. My son had prime rib special and loved it. He said it was the best beef he has ever had in any form. It came wish mashed potatoes which he also adored. My husband tried the lobster bisque and the scallops entree. Both were delicious. I ordered spaghetti and it was delicious as well. In addition the decor is just stunning. It's not something I usually add to a review but in this case it warrants it! read more

Stopped here on our way after a long travel day+ & really glad we did. Kelsey was our server & took good care of us My son & I split the fish & chips because we weren't sure how big it would be... turned out to be the right call. We each got a huge piece of fish & it was honestly among the best fish & chips I've had. Light, crispy batter, flaky fish & not greasy. Just right with lemon & tartar. Paired it with a bottle of Sancerre that was a great match. My wife enjoyed the Scottish salmon salad. My daughter had the chicken tenders & fries. The tenders were good... the fries outstanding. We also started with the lobster bisque. Good flavor & worth ordering, even if the fish & chips stole the show... would definitely return read more

If you are in the Bangor area, this a must-stop for you and your family. The decor has a very nice modern country style, but they bring some old school wood on the walls and the ceilings with a nice ambience of lighting. Your timing has to be impeccable as they do get busy quickly during lunch and dinner times. Surprisingly they do offer outside seating in the winter using these igloos style domes that are heated with nice lighting. I hadn't seen this before in the many spots I have tried. The food quality is amazing and is a farm-to-table as nothing appears to be frozen. Everything is made fresh and they have great oven brick pizza. You are going to pay typical prices for a hotel restaurant, but the quality and quantity of the food is well worth it. They say you eat with your eyes first and when they place your meal in front of you, your eyes will be amazed at the care that goes into the appearance of every dish that leaves the kitchen. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side and some are worth it, but their drink menu is quite larger and may seem overwhelming to some. My family and I had no issues with any of the food we had. The backed stuff cod had a nice flakey and flavorful fish along with the pesto risotto, alongside some blistered tomatoes and parmesan flavored green beans. The smokey tomato pizza was cooked to perfection and had a nice swirl of pesto creating an amazing experience in both taste and aroma. The BBQ ribs were fall of the bone and the bbq sauce was not too sweet for me. The ribs came with a pretty dense cornbread, vegan baked beans and a creamy corn succotash. They start you off with some bread of which one of them has cranberry in it and it tastes phenomenal. Even the butter has additional flavor with some chives in it. This place is a MUST stop for anyone looking for a farm-to-table atmosphere and want to experience some amazing food. read more

We travel for work and it's taboo to eat at a hotel restaurant so we were super skeptical- especially seeing how large the restaurant was upon check in Glad everyone recommended it, because it truly was great. Nice interior. We sat at the chefs table which overlooked their pizza oven & 2 other stations. Food was great- pizza looked AMAZING Steak frites were great- the butter definetly helped with the flavor, great size ribeye The lobster bisque was the only let down that evening as it was the one thing I was looking forward to eating since we're in Maine, beautiful presentation though slower service was a let down too but felt a little justified since they were busy. would come back! Trust the reviews on TripAdvisor- they're #1 for a reason- plus them leaving "write us a review on TripAdvisor" flyer with your check probably helps too! read more

They say everything is better with bacon but I guess they haven't tried lobster . The Mexican corn dip with lobster was the perfect way to start a meal then followed it with lobster bisque. We actually started with seasonal cocktails and the winter pear was the perfect combination of vodka, st. Getmain, and champagne. My daughter had a cranberry mule that was also very good. Love the decor (wish we could have experienced the igloos). Service was really great as well. Was super surprised this is in a Marriott Residence Inn, but it is a separate entrance. It was very busy on a Tuesday in March which says a lot. Glad we tried it on our visit to Maine after a long day of hiking in Acadia. read more

During our vacation in town, we decided to try this spot after reading the reviews, and I'm so glad we did. We started with the lobster elote dip--absolutely a 10/10. For mains, we had the lobster ravioli (delicious, but could use a touch of lemon for balance, so 9.5/10), the seafood chowder (7/10, since it was a bit light on seafood), and the pig pizza, which was a solid 10/10. We ended with the buckeye dessert--easily an 11/10, though we all wished it had a bit more marshmallow fluff, as they were pretty stingy with it. read more

I have eaten on many many occasions and up to last night I never had a bad meal last night I ordered the short rib. It's my favorite thing on the menu. But last night my first bite was a fork full of gristle. I found myself with a mouth full that I had to swallow. I didn't eat anything else after that. The waitress came by I showed her the plate and she went to request a discount. I am probably not going to be able to avoid eating here because in my circle it it's a regular. But will most definitely will not order nor will I suggest that particular dish. read more

This place is worth visiting. It is adjacent to the residence inn. It was really busy when we walked in without reservation. The staff was friendly and sat us outside immediately. There weren't a lot of options in Bangor in Nov so we were pleasantly surprised by Timber Kitchen & Bar. While it is located in a Marriott hotel it doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant. We arrived without a reservation on a Friday night and the place was slammed, but we were seated at a nice table within ~10 min. Our server (Nolan) had multiple tables, but was hustling and we never waited long for anything. Drinks, food, ambience and especially service was 5 stars If I ever find myself back in Bangor in the winter I'd make a reservation for one of their super cool outdoor igloo tables. read more

The place had great atmosphere and was alive. I was looking forward to it. I sat at the bar and ordered soup, oysters and fish and chips for my main course. The fish and chips came first. I was a bit surprised. Then during the middle of that dish came the soup and oysters. There was little room at the bar but the server jammed all the plates in making for a stressful situation. I felt I had to jam everything thing down at once. I could not really enjoy it. I will give it another try. read more
