We are local and Timber is a GoTo place for us. No reservations for less than 6. Can get very busy as the evening progresses, but we arrived at 5:30 and were seated immediately. Last night was our anniversary celebration. Could not have been more enjoyable. Service was excellent. Our server was a young woman who was in her first week of unsupervised service. Did not miss a beat. She had a remarkable grasp of the details of the menu, describing the seared Ahi tuna dish to a "T". During our meal the Manager checked in with us to ask if they were meeting our expectations. Nice touch. Excellent bar cocktails. Wine by the bottle as well as the glass and "jug". The bottle list is varied and pretty extensive. We had a Rombauer Chardonnay which paired perfectly with the slightly spiced menu items we ordered. Portions are substantial. Take home boxes available. Last note, the pacing of the service was totally focused on our pace. We were never rushed and between each course had a moment to relax and talk. Had an amazing dinner here. Don't spend much time in Bangor so we got many dishes and shared them all. Was shocked this place was here. Food was incredible. Burger with blueberry and goat cheese was great. Only things is- I firmly believe bacon should be crispy. This bacon was not. That's the only thing I would change. Onion and squash soups were great. Calamari was good. Maple pomegranate Brussels sprouts were amazing! Service was fantastic. They split every dish in the kitchen for me and my wife. Katya offered without us asking. The place had great atmosphere and was alive. I was looking forward to it. I sat at the bar and ordered soup, oysters and fish and chips for my main course. The fish and chips came first. I was a bit surprised. Then during the middle of that dish came the soup and oysters. There was little room at the bar but the server jammed all the plates in making for a stressful situation. I felt I had to jam everything thing down at once. I could not really enjoy it. I will give it another try. read more

I almost always love timber for their food and drinks. The only issue that lies herein is how they treat customers. My friend was threatened in this establishment and even tho he was a VIP customer, the restaurant provided zero support and wouldn't even call the cops despite claiming they did. read more

It is clear this is the "fancy" restaurant in town. Traveling for work our party of 2 were seating quickly and service was fast and efficient. Prime rib with mashed potatoes is what my co worker ordered and said it was just ok. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was a large size and VERY delish. I also got the crab cakes (for my meal) and they were just ok. If I make it back to this area of the state I would try again as many of the pasta and pizza options look yummy! read more

We enjoyed our 35th wedding anniversary last night which was wonderful. Andrew our favorite waiter recommended the steak tips with mushrooms, mashed potatoes and grilled squash and zucchini which I enjoyed with a red glass of wine! Hotel restaurants don't always have the same allure for me, but this place was hopping and I can't say enough good things about it! Wonderful service, starting with hostesses and ending with the wait staff and clean up crew. Upscale dining, but not crazy prices. Complimentary bread and an extensive kids menu. It's so unusual to get to enjoy fine dining AND be able to find a kid friendly meal! Beautiful decor, comfy cushioned seats, clean and not spacious. Indoor and Outdoor seating. If you are in the Bangor area, this a must-stop for you and your family. The decor has a very nice modern country style, but they bring some old school wood on the walls and the ceilings with a nice ambience of lighting. Your timing has to be impeccable as they do get busy quickly during lunch and dinner times. Surprisingly they do offer outside seating in the winter using these igloos style domes that are heated with nice lighting. I hadn't seen this before in the many spots I have tried. The food quality is amazing and is a farm-to-table as nothing appears to be frozen. Everything is made fresh and they have great oven brick pizza. You are going to pay typical prices for a hotel restaurant, but the quality and quantity of the food is well worth it. They say you eat with your eyes first and when they place your meal in front of you, your eyes will be amazed at the care that goes into the appearance of every dish that leaves the kitchen. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side and some are worth it, but their drink menu is quite larger and may seem overwhelming to some. My family and I had no issues with any of the food we had. The backed stuff cod had a nice flakey and flavorful fish along with the pesto risotto, alongside some blistered tomatoes and parmesan flavored green beans. The smokey tomato pizza was cooked to perfection and had a nice swirl of pesto creating an amazing experience in both taste and aroma. The BBQ ribs were fall of the bone and the bbq sauce was not too sweet for me. The ribs came with a pretty dense cornbread, vegan baked beans and a creamy corn succotash. They start you off with some bread of which one of them has cranberry in it and it tastes phenomenal. Even the butter has additional flavor with some chives in it. This place is a MUST stop for anyone looking for a farm-to-table atmosphere and want to experience some amazing food. read more

Nice interior. We sat at the chefs table which overlooked their pizza oven & 2 other stations. They say everything is better with bacon but I guess they haven't tried lobster . The Mexican corn dip with lobster was the perfect way to start a meal then followed it with lobster bisque. We actually started with seasonal cocktails and the winter pear was the perfect combination of vodka, st. Getmain, and champagne. My daughter had a cranberry mule that was also very good. Love the decor (wish we could have experienced the igloos). Service was really great as well. Was super surprised this is in a Marriott Residence Inn, but it is a separate entrance. During our vacation in town, we decided to try this spot after reading the reviews, and I'm so glad we did. We started with the lobster elote dip--absolutely a 10/10. For mains, we had the lobster ravioli (delicious, but could use a touch of lemon for balance, so 9.5/10), the seafood chowder (7/10, since it was a bit light on seafood), and the pig pizza, which was a solid 10/10. I have eaten on many many occasions and up to last night I never had a bad meal last night I ordered the short rib. It's my favorite thing on the menu. But last night my first bite was a fork full of gristle. I found myself with a mouth full that I had to swallow. I didn't eat anything else after that. The waitress came by I showed her the plate and she went to request a discount. I am probably not going to be able to avoid eating here because in my circle it it's a regular. This place is worth visiting. It is adjacent to the residence inn. It was really busy when we walked in without reservation. The staff was friendly and sat us outside immediately. There weren't a lot of options in Bangor in Nov so we were pleasantly surprised by Timber Kitchen & Bar. While it is located in a Marriott hotel it doesn't feel like a hotel restaurant. We arrived without a reservation on a Friday night and the place was slammed, but we were seated at a nice table within ~10 min. Our server (Nolan) had multiple tables, but was hustling and we never waited long for anything. Drinks, food, ambience and especially service was 5 stars If I ever find myself back in Bangor in the winter I'd make a reservation for one of their super cool outdoor igloo tables. read more

The vibe is upscale north woods and the service is always on point! I've been here twice, both times with a group of 6 or more. The first time we had their private room which has a big table that can probably seat 10 - 15. This last night we had a big table in the bar area. Our reservation is always ready right when we get there which is appreciated. The food here is always great! I've done the roast chicken and a few of the appetizers. This restaurant is in the Residence Inn Bangor. It is the best restaurant we've been to in a hotel, ever. It is a favorite of locals as well. They were booked in February for Mother's Day, when we were there, which says it all. We sat in the back, and as it was a bit chilly, they turned on the fireplace next to us which was great! The interior lumber theme was nice and the restaurant was cozy. I decided to indulge in a drink and ordered the Stoli blueberry fog. I was sold on this because it's topped with elderflower foam. The complimentary bread basket contained two types of bread with soft butter. For my entree, I was really craving a salad and went with the grilled steak salad. It was far from boring as there was a lot going on. I especially loved the different types of grilled mushrooms in the salad. The only thing is that I wished there were more mixed greens. Just tried Timber Kitchen for the first time today and the results are mixed. Place was packed inside so we opted to sit outside. Weather was nice and waitstaff friendly and quick.,. At first. Our drinks arrived shortly but our appetizers got delayed. To help with our dinner we placed our order before our waitress left to get them. We got the Timber Tenders with the sweet bbq sauce and a side of ranch. When they arrived we found we had the Carolina bbq sauce (very vinegar). Thank goodness for the ranch! And then we waited for dinner. My wife's burger and my TKB dip were 40 minutes late. Still warm (not hot) and tasty but that's a long time. Turns out staff may have been stuck inside leaving those of us outside stuck too. My advice is unless you're very early or they are very dead don't go outside. read more

The specialty cocktails for Valentines (Cupid's Kiss and Chocolate Raspberry Kiss) were fantastic, as well as their Stoli Blieberry Fog cocktail, which was perfect, and the food was PERFECT! The caprese stack had so much flavor, the truffle fries were loaded with flavor and the malt vinegar aioli and spicy ketchup were paired perfectly. The atlantic salmon was fantastic, and cooked perfectly. I wish it did come with half a lemon so I could squeeze it over but it was perfect without! The spaghetti was pretty good, but the meatballs really took it home, they were perfectly seasoned and my partner and I agreed they were the best meatballs we've ever had! It's a pricey spot ($142 for 2 appetizers, 2 meals, and three cocktails) but the flavor and experience are unmatched. Worth it every time. Our waiter, Justin, was fantastic as well. i have mixed feelings about this place. first up, inside, it's beautiful - spacious, the decor is eye pleasing, there is room to walk around without bumping into tables. the outdoor seating area is also very nice. hostess was welcoming. surprising that a hotel restaurant is so eye pleasing. i was with a group of 11 people. our server was attentive, the only part i didn't like was he stayed mainly at the head of the table; i was at the other end, and felt kind of left out. that said, the remainder of the service was great. we started off with mimosas, specialty coffees, and wine. we were also given baskets of rolls. you know the type of roll that you open, only to find air? it was those types of rolls. our server told us about the brunch, he also let us know we could order off the regular menu. this is where i feel i went wrong. the brunch menu didn't have much that sounded good, but my mimosas told me to suck it up and order a farm stand salad, corned beef hash, and to venture to the meat station. you know how you get a dish, then try to just delicately eat around what you don't like, while trying not to draw any attention to the fact you are eating like a bratty toddler? the poached egg from my house made corned beef gazed reprovingly at me while i valiantly tried to eat a roasted root vegetable from my farm salad. i decided i had been brave enough in my taste selections, and went to the meat station. i got a slice of ham and a thick slice of overdone roast beef from a very nice server. he also offered me some sauce, which i later used as a lubricant to get the roast beef down. i usually love ham. and roast beef, but not at this particular place. don't forget to visit paul bunyan, conveniently located across the street. i bet that guy would have eaten all of my farm salad, corned beef and tasteless fat roast beef. read more

Nice place - it's inside of a hotel. Got there around 6:30 on a Sunday. PACKED. Went to the bar and had some drinks, waited about 20 minutes for a table of 5. Had the wedge salad and calamari apps. Both very good. I'm pretty sure I ordered the Short Rib special for my entree. Major miscommunication - ended up getting a Prime Rib. I know the difference between the two cuts. Was with some family and friends and they've been here before and love this place, so I didn't want to make a scene.
