love coming here in groups, i'm sure all of syracuse feels the same. have an ID, bc you will be asked at the door. everything is cash only, there is an ATM with common atm fees. free popcorn is available for self serve. ** very very salty, you'll need something to drink. I usually come to wing night (thursday) because .45 cent wings, very recently, they've increased to .60 cents. which is still a great deal. you'll have to order in increments of 5, after a 10 wing minimum. they now charge a dollar for a bottle of water. which is a great sales strategy but it def makes a few people salty. just bring your own water :) Make sure you're able to hear when they announce your order over the mini PA system. read more

The Blahhhhrney Suh-tone has the most Irish sounding name for a hole in the wall pub I can think of in recent memory. I also associate the name now with some of the most juicy, cheap, heartburn inducing burgers you can find in Syracuse. What you've heard is true, this place is the real deal. FIVE FREAKIN' dollars for the juiciest 1/2 pound hockey puck you will ever taste AND it comes with some complimentary tayters to even out the meal. If you're on a tight budget, but still want to eat out then this may be the place for you. They do in fact sell things other than burgers, such as wings and cheesesteak but I haven't quite fully digested the burger I had from there two weeks ago. I definitely want to try more from their menu but this is a CASH ONLY establishment. I don't typically carry cash, but I will probably scrape up a few dollars for this place. I can't speak for much else other than the burger, but I'm confident given how smoky and fresh the burger was that their other food will be good. How can anyone say they don't love this amazing place! Granted it does get a little crazy when its filled with people drinking, but it's totally worth it when it comes to the amazing food!! So this is probably obvious, but I highly recommend the Blarney Burger! The fresh beef and creamy cheese on that yummy Kaiser roll will blow your mind. They even cook it to order however you like your burger meat. The fries are so dang good as well. They are insanely crunchy and packed full of flavor. I also really love their bbq sauce, might not be house made, but whoever they get it from...its great!! Side note: if it is house made...awesome job guys! A friend that we were visiting took us here and oh how I wish I could take this place with me to Minnesota. There's TV's everywhere with whatever sporting event you want to see. The food is great, the drinks are good and the price is more than fair. Only down side was that this place was packed but the crowd was a good one. They had pitchers of beer for the guys and a good wine selection for me. I don't remember what the price came out to be for drinks but it was way lower than what I was expecting. I got a burger and fries for something crazy like six bucks or something. The burger was super good. It was a half pounder on a good roll with mayo and fresh lettuce, tomato and onion, just the way I like it. The fries were great as well. They were crispy and well seasoned. It is a very odd set up. One side is a bar and one side has food but they don't seem connected other than being in the same building. Be aware it is both cash only! They do have an atm. They have a very nice selection of beers. And the price is extremely reasonable. We ordered food and it is an open kitchen that I wish wasn't. I wasn't enthused after seeing the condition of the flat top that didn't look like it was cleaned since the Nixon era. But you are in luck if you enjoy French fries that taste and smell like the grease they are cooked in, crispy but skanky. The steak sauce bottle and ketchup dispenser also look like they were where Covid was hatched up. Packets or single use would be better since the reusable ones don't seem cleaned. Looking back I'm not sure how we stumbled upon this place but i would probably eat prior to going next time to enjoy a beer and listen to some old man shake his fist about people that aren't getting the Covid vaccine. read more

I come here with my friends almost every weekend for a few drinks and the level of unprofessionalism is WILD! The "bouncers" are unnecessarily aggressive and homophobic. Not a very friendly place to be. Who hires these goons? For patrons paying to eat and drink here during a pandemic they should be grateful to have us. Instead they threatened my friend who didn't provoke anyone and I was told to "suck a d***." Friends, find somewhere else to have a few. This is the second incident I've seen in the past couple weeks because of the aggressive workers and its not ok. They don't even deserve my star. read more

From the reviews it's pretty clear that the Blarney's burgers are sublime, not to mention cheap and fresh (not frozen). In the summertime sitting out on the deck with nothing to look at but ugly houses suits me just fine. Now that it's cold and basketball season, Blarney offers 25 cent wing night during all televised SU games (they did on NFL Sundays too). While not the biggest wings, they are always cooked to perfection when I ask how I want them. Friday's happy hour buffet isn't that bad either -- the pizza is good, taco meat like you would expect, and sub sandwiches for the most part. Hey, it's FREE food! I have no problem whatsoever paying 4.75 for a good microbrew, or 4.50 for the yummy cans of Bengali Tiger by Sixpoint. But that's just me, a beer lovin blogger and local beer writer. Their regular rotations of IPA on draft is a great idea! I had never had Mission from CA and it rocked! Jukebox is so Upstate -- Journey and Def Leppard. Gotta love the Back to the Future surreal but real down home place. Matt the manager is a great guy and always making sure the customers are enjoiying themselves. Great place. Fabulous!!!! We actually stumbled upon this by accident, at about two in the afternoon just driving through Syracuse. We happen to notice the large amount of cars out in front, and thought that we should probably check this place out. Huge portions, and low prices. Fresh food, very friendly staff, it is cash only though. There is an ATM at the front of the bar, in case you don't have cash with you. We ordered fried mushrooms, Ruben, onion rings, and the haddock sandwich with fries and apple bread pudding. My sandwich was an ENTIRE fish!! Real fish, not pieces. Will be back for sure! read more

I remember visiting the Blarney Stone a handful of times back in the late 80s with my parents when I was a kindergartner, Shirley Temple was my drink of choice back then. Fast forward a few decades later, finally had an opportunity to come back. I'm sad that it took me so long to return and will make it a point to visit more often. The main draw for me is the blarney burger and fries. My husband and I visited for a late lunch recently and spent roughly $15 for 2 massive burgers with toppings, fries, chips and a soda. The burgers were cooked to a perfect medium and were mouthwateringly decadent. Every element was fresh and the toasted bun was perfect. The fries were so tasty, a extra crispy beer battered type. Not a delicate meal but incredibly satisfying and a great value. The two kitchen staff taking orders were friendly. The newer part of the bar is spacious and was festively decorated with a Christmas tree. The Blarney Stone is a fixture in Syracuse and rightfully so, a genuinely solid establishment. I stumbled upon this neighborhood gem on a cold night, all alone. Thought I'd give it a try. I've been coming back. This a convivial beer & burger watering hole catering to the locals. The vibe is welcoming and fun. They offer a fairly wide-ranging assortment of beers, including local brews. They're noted for their burgers and fries, which I rate superior to even Five Guys. But their wings and other fare are also worth a try. They've expanded, though finding seating on a weekend night might be a challenge. Service is always friendly. The Blarney also has outside seating on their wraparound porch in summer. Prices are bargain level. Cash only though. There's nothing Irish about the Blarney Stone, but that's ok. Dude these burgers are so amazing and the cost is super low too! One of my good friends told me I should come here. He said it was one of the best burgers in the city. He was completely right. They also have amazing wings and the entire area is wicked chill. I will be coming back here really soon. Your probably looking at paying about ten bucks to feed yourself if you don't get any booze. Up to you either way. Personally I do enjoy giving myself a buzz when stuffing my face. The area isn't too shabby either. Your looking at Irish land and because of the the heritage speaks for itself. We had to park down the street and walk. No hostess to greet you. We sort of stumbled upon the kitchen in the rear and got our orders taken. No waiter/waitress to get you drinks. I was not drinking. It would have been nice to get a glass of water. Burger was on point and juicy. Fries were battered and super hot. Great hidden gem for locals in the neighborhood. The day we went they were packed. First off I would say they do NOT have the best burger in town. I have come here many times because they have great prices but not once have they got the temperature of my burger correct. I've gone as far asking for medium rare in hopes I would get medium but everytime I get a burnt overly cooked well done burger. Due to the fact that I do not like their food one day my husband decided to go for their wing day while I got food from another place. My husband bought food and drinks but they still had the audacity to kick us out because of the food that I was eating on their patio with over 6 ft btwn me and any other table. We were not bothering anybody. I was quietly sitting on the patio eating my food while my husband waited for his food when they decided to kick us out like we were criminals. Bottom line is their food is NOT THAT GOOD to be kicking people out who are still giving your location money by purchasing your nasty food. Also, pay close attention at the bar one day to see how they wash their dishes. They claim to be worried about health codes but they wash their dishes by dumping them in and out 3 times into a sink of soapy water then dumping them in and out 3 times in a sink of plain water. That is the nastiest thing I've ever seen. The amount of dirt, fungus, and bacteria that has to be sitting in that water that they use to clean their dishes has to be atrocious. If you ever get sick there after eating or drinking their stuff no you know why. Nasty! read more

My friends and were very excited to come back to get the wings at this place and were severely disappointed. First off I was not allowed inside due to not having ID on me. However, the restaurant itself is half bar half dine in restaurant. It's absolutely ridiculous for them to ID every individual being a half restaurant half bar. We luckily got seated outside, after being given poor service by the staff. As we were sitting outside, there were several people smoking next to us, completely ruining the smell and taste of our meal. It's mind boggling to me that they would allow people to smoke in the outdoor dining section, yet not let me inside the building without ID EVEN after explaining we were only there for wings. Mind you, this was my second time here and it was never an issue before. Also the wings were 100x better before. On top of that, our wings were overly drenched in sauce and tasted like frozen Walmart chicken nuggets. Will never come back to this place! read more

I really don't want to know what they make the food out of at Blarney Stone. It is far too cheap and tastes far too delicious for it to be anything good. But seriously, the Blarney burger is fresh and juicy, served with lots of fries for under $5. And I've only been there on Thursdays because their wing night is amazing. Some of the best wings in Syracuse for criminally cheap. It can get crowded there but since they expanded into the new area it's been less congested. The bar tenders are all really nice and I've never had to wait very long for a beer. There is an outdoor patio, which is useless most of the year because of snow but is nice in the summer. Plenty of TVs inside to see games that are on. One thing to look out for is that it is a cash only bar. There is an ATM towards the back but best to avoid the fees if at all possible. This place is definitely a Syracuse gem. If you're in the Tipperary Hill area, drop by and have a bite to eat. read more
