Enjoyed our dinner at Blackworth Fire Grill in Lititz, PA located inside the Historic Wilbur Chocolate Factory Est. 1865. The building was turned into a restaurant/steakhouse and is connected to The Wilbur Hotel. When you walk into The Wilbur Hotel from Blackworth Fire Grill, you can smell chocolate from the original chocolate factory wood beams left. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The only thing I recommend to this restaurant is adding more salt on the steaks and more seasoning on the side dishes but other than that, I'd definitely dine at Blackworth Fire Grill again and would stay at the Historic Wilbur Hotel. Reservations are recommended because restaurant gets very busy especially, on the weekends. The Amish Village is about a 20 minute drive from this location. Check out this place when in the area. Danial our Maitre' D was excellent. We had a group of 9, reservation for 7:30 on Sunday night. Place was hopping, smelled great, staff greeted us as we arrived in 3 groups a few minutes apart. The room we supposed to dine in had patrons who were obviously finished eating but busy chatting. At 8;05 we were taken into the connected Wilbur Hotel & seated in a stale conference room. This was almost a deal breaker & we were ready to leave & go someplace else until Daniel arrived to save the evening. His enthusiasm & quick wit was welcomed & we proceeded to order close to $2000 worth of food & drink. This was a company feed paid for by the boss. Shortly after, drinks arrived & were kept full for the next 2 hours. Some mains arrived before some of the sides & that was not a problem at all because EVERYTHING was excellent! The Curry Coconut soup, charred avocado, sautéed mushrooms, Ethiopian carrots & everything else was perfectly cooked & plated. For whatever ambiance the room lacked & the late seating, it was more than made up for by the quality of ingredients & cooking. The added bonus to seating in a private room was that we were able to banter wildly & behave like the rough & tumble touring road crew veterans that we all were. Daniel really saved the day & I can't wait for the opportunity to eat here again despite the minor setbacks at the start. Not a single bite of food was left on a plate except for steak bones. The cheesecake was especially good being lighter & fluffier than most with a delicate yet complex flavor. All of the staff we encountered were extremely attentive, professional & polite. My wife and I stayed at the wonderful Hotel The Wilbur @Lititz for four nights during Thanksgiving weekend. Blackworth is located adjacent to The Wilbur, so naturally we had to check it out. Saturday night (our last night at The Wilbur @Lititz), we decided to invite my sister and my brother-in-law for dinner at Blackworth restaurant. The food was exquisite, to say the least, one of the best steaks, fish, and pork we've tasted by far. Up there with Homestead in NYC & Peter Luger in Brooklyn. For appetizer, we had: slices of medium rare A5 Wagyu Beef. My wife had: Bronzini with stuffing. My sister had: The Salmon with roasted potatoes. My brother-in-law had: The Chicken I had the: Pork Shank with sauerkraut. The same principle that applies to a hotel also applies to restaurants. The food might be amazing, or it might be subpar, but it's the staff that shines. They make or break the restaurant. Fortunately the Blackworth's food was exquisite, and the staff are its shining stars! Jenn and her excellent hosting skills are unequaled. She's so friendly, so easy to talk to, that within minutes of talking with her, she makes you feel like you and her are long-time friends. Francesco is the Blackworth's GM, and he's very friendly, approachable, and accommodating. Ours server Jessamin always had a bright, friendly smile. First impressions of this place are quite great! The staff is extremely friendly and the ambience is really nice! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a beautiful hostess named Marlene who is so great at what she does. You also walk into a beautiful waiting area should there be a long wait. Stevie our waitress was so kind and attentive and also did a great job explaining the menu. Daniel the Maitre D came over to explain the selection of Wagyu steak and we are so thrilled to have the chance to try this wonderful Wagyu. Daniel is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and knows steak! My husband got the branzino because he is so freakin' weird but it was really good and I got the NY strip medium rare and it was lovely. i came on yelp to post a review and was shocked to see some of the negative reviews. We ate here last night and left saying it was one of the best meals we have had and we have been fortunate to eat at some great restaurants. It was an expensive meal but we felt worth it. The cocktails were delicious and we ordered the tomahawk steak to share with au gratin potatoes and carrots. The presentation and detail was lovely and every bite amazing. The potatoes were delicious! We got to sit across from the cooking station which was entertaining to watch all the effort go into preparing the meals. I really like the look of the bar here and this is my first time back in about three years. I actually went for cocktails and appetizers on a Saturday night in August, and then returned the following morning for brunch. Saturday night they seemed to be shortstaffed at the bar so Service was slightly lackluster, but the cocktails were delicious. I did enjoy both of my appetizers, I had the charred octopus, and I had oysters on the half shell. I do realize that there are condos above the restaurant, and so some of the patrons are well-known and regulars, and that was evident in that I felt like the bartenders were more attentive to the people that they knew. No one was unfriendly, but I didn't feel as welcome. Sunday morning I had brunch at the bar, and I had eggs and bacon and sausage and toast. The toast had no butter and I wasn't given butter, jam, or even salt and pepper. I had to ask for hot sauce and butter and salt and pepper, and then finally she did bring a basket that had all kinds of condiments for breakfast in it, but it was a little too late. Again , I think they were slightly shortstaffed on this weekend. The bartender was very nice. This was our first time dining at Blackworth. The food was fantastic as well as the server Ryan. We had the seafood tower as an appetizer. I had the swordfish and my wife had a filet. My wife also got the crab special as a side. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The atmosphere was nice and it was nicely decorated. We celebrated our wedding anniversary, a little late, and were treated to an on the house dessert. That was a nice touch!! I highly recommend Blackworth. This is now called KoLE Chophouse. I went there for lunch with some colleagues. I also live in Lititz and was the first time I've been in the building since it was the Wilbur factory. Location is very nice and I enjoyed the ambiance. I enjoyed the time with my colleagues however we found the service was very slow. We also were the only customers. It took about 45 mins+ before our lunch was ready. My lunch came with soup which lukewarm. The BLT was bland, bacon had no flavor. My coworker had a medium steak that was way overcooked and tough. I can't say I'd recommend this place for a good lunch at least that's been my experience. I don't plan on going back unfortunately. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. Overall I give it a 3/5 stars. Atmosphere was modern/cute, service was good, friendly staff and noise level was a little loud (and we went on a Tuesday night at 7:30pm). For the price we paid (around $80) with just two Tagliata entrees, a cornbread side dish and French fries, the food was pretty mediocre. The sides were good with the exception that the French fries served in a mug were overly salty. The corn bread was delectable with the maple butter. The steak was good but wasn't the best I ever had. The plating is sort of deceiving. I recommend that if you do want to try this place that you reserve a table ahead of time online or call in especially on a weekend. read more

We were in town visiting family and decided to stop in for drinks and apps. Dallas the bartender is phenomenal. I had the Fern Island Breeze and it was crisp and fresh and delicious! We ordered the Olives and the avocado appetizers to nibble on while we sipped and were stunned at how good they were.! There must be sorcery involved to transform an avocado into such a tasty treat. Be sure to order one (or two) when you visit! We sat in the bar area and it was clean, comfortable and inviting. We had heard that there had been a fire in the restaurant a while ago but there were absolutely no signs of that. The furnishings and decor are elegant and make you want to sit and stay a while to people watch, nibble and drink. We couldn't stay for dinner but it is definitely on our list for our next visit as the plates I saw around me looked wonderful! I started off with the Gin Beets Rock and transitioned to Malbec. Server answered all of our questions and provided excellent customer service. I had the Tagliata with a side of mac & cheese. The new york strip cooked perfectly rare and melts in your mouth. The garlic confit pairs extremely well. I also ordered the chimichurri sauce which added brightness with its herbaceous flavor. I made a reservation here to have dinner with my in-laws. They'd never tried this place so we were excited to go here. The restaurant is large and open with a modern feel. The music was very loud, too loud. It was so loud that we couldn't talk. It felt like a nightclub with fancy dinner. The food was mediocre. I got the boeuf bourguignon. There were two small pieces of beef and undercooked carrots, all cold. The best dish I tried was the potatoes gratin. The service was not great. I feel bad for our server because she was running all over the restaurant and I never saw her stop. But there were plenty of other people standing around doing nothing. It took forever to get our drinks and order food. While we were there the table next to us with a different server changed over three time. We didn't get refills on water. We've been going to Blackworths since originally opening and loved this higher end restaurant, in the middle of Lititz. I've never ordered fish, as the restaurant is known as a chop/steakhouse but felt like something different. I got the whole branzino which looked beautiful when prepared. I began to eat it and realized it hadn't been filleted. I was surprised but asked our server if I could send it back to be deboned. I was told they are no longer allowed to filet fish. What?!? There was nothing on the menu stating preparation will not include filleting. Knowing this upfront, I would've been able to decide before ordering. Instead, I struggled with eating around the bones until I got assistance from a kind employee, who will remain nameless. I was told they would get in big trouble for doing it. Upon leaving, I shared my experience with the manager who told me they had trained all staff how to filet fish during Covid but hadn't provided additional training. This led me to believe, no one knew how to filet rather than they weren't allowed. I said at a finer dining restaurant, this should be done automatically by the kitchen but the response was the restaurant wasn't "fine dining". Granted, there aren't white tablecloths but if you can order steaks that cost $120-190, then you can debone a fish for the customer. read more

Bottom Line: Great atmosphere and excellent service with a unique menu that is hit or miss. My husband and I recently visited Blackworth on two separate occasions. On our first visit we dined in and had a five star experience. On the second visit we got carry out and had a three star experience. On our first visit we sat at a table overlooking the historic Lititz train station. As someone who is fascinated with trains I thoroughly enjoyed this view. I also love history so I enjoyed dining inside the historic Wilbur Chocolate Factory and I appreciated seeing some of the original structure that is exposed. My husband and I both ordered the Lititz burgers and shared a side of fries. It was excellent! On our second visit we were once again staying in the hotel and being tired we decided to just get carry out. Since our meal was so fabulous on our first visit and we were too tired to think about the other offerings (steaks, smoked eggplant, a signature chicken dish, etc.) we ordered the same thing. The burgers were once again tender, flavorful and scrumptious but the fries were over-salted and inedible which was a shame. Overall, I like this restaurant and I would return for a third visit although I think there are probably better values to be had in Lititz. read more

ENTRANCE: Im blown away, this restaurant is so cool. Soon as i walked in i was like wow this is a cool space im glad i came here. We (2 people) were seated right away in this awesome booth/table spot and the chairs were actually comfortable unlike most places. They were this U shaped hug around type chairs that held you in all the right spots. SERVING: If i remember correctly his name was Patrick. One of the best servers ive had in a while. Was quick with everything, cool to talk to and never left us hanging. 5 stars just for him. Appetizers were oysters and crab croquettes, one of the tastiest oysters ive had and the crab was mixed perfectly and tasted like no other crab (ball/cake) ive had before, truly amazing. Dinner was the Tagliata steak, came out cooked exactly as requested and the flavor was insane with the garlic confit. Decadent experience. Dessert was cheesecake, once again some of the best. It was not dense like most cheesecakes. My wife got the chocolate mousse and it was almost as light and fluffy as that. The chefs are genius. So impressive. PRICE TO QUALITY: This places prices, although on the higher end, are completely justified with the level of quality that they produce. This place is a little pricey and is definitely a sign of how much things have changed in Lititz. It was my parent's anniversary so I wanted to take them somewhere nice, so we hit up Blackworth. I don't mind spending a few extra sheckles for a great meal, and this place definitely cost a few extra sheckles. We all got steak (3 ribeyes and 1 filet mignon) and they all came wonderful! Cooked how we asked, super tender, and very flavorful. We also got 2 shareable sides. The brocolini was cooked well and had a strong citrus flavor. The fries were the only disappointing part of the meal. My dad and I each got a Maine Lunch and the ladies shared a bottle of wine. The place was packed by the time we left and got a little noisy, but we all really liked the atmosphere. Can't wait to go back some day! read more

Lovely space. The renovation is lovely but keeps a lot of the charm of the former Wilbur space. Good service. The food was generally good. A few things we enjoyed more than others. Great shrimp cocktail with huge shrimp. Great smoked eggplant--would almost go back just for this. Nice burger. Really liked our fried/home fried potatoes. The Brussels sprouts and the lemon grass soup were so so. They were fresh but fairly bland. The 'happy chicken' was nicely seasoned and super juicy. Very good. Didn't bother with the jus for the chicken since it didn't seem super flavorful and wasn't super hot so I worried it would overly cool the piping hot chicken. It's a little pricey since all the sides are extra, even many of the more specialty sauces that might come with certain dishes. So this adds up quickly. Fortunately the sides are larger so could pass as a side for two. But quite literally it's just the burger or just the chicken. I know this is a common practice at some higher end eateries, especially steak places. It was a little surprising given their relatively minimal brunch menu that, say, the burger didn't come with some nice kettle chips or the steak and eggs would come with a few potatoes. Beautiful restaurant with lots of room. The gentleman who sat us was a sweetheart and very welcoming. We sat at a high rise by the kitchen, which was great to see how everything was cooked. The food was really good, especially the cornbread! Gave only 3 stars because the server brought my food out first and my husbands dinner later on, so it was a bit of a bummer to sit there and eat alone while my husband waited for his entree. Also, one of the cooks in a green hat kept eating small pieces of food in the kitchen while preparing things, which was obvious to see and shouldn't be done in an open kitchen view where guests can see. read more

We had 5:30 reservations, it wasn't very crowded but there was a loud speaker right behind me, this restaurant has no soft surfaces, brick walls, wood floors and tables, nothing to absorb sound, so despite there being only 3 other tables full, we could not really hear each other at all. We ordered steaks and my son ordered a burger. My steak was a sirloin and it said it came with browned butter and was sliced. I was shocked when ordering I asked for medium and they said I only had a choice of pink, or no pink. I said "definitely pink". Meanwhile my wife ordered a less expensive steak and was given the option of any temperature she wanted. We waited for quite a while despite the very low number of people there, and since we couldn't hear each other it was a long wait. As the food came out they placed a burger in front of my son, and a steak in front of my wife, note despite my steak costing $48 it comes with no sides at all! Then comes my platter which was served on one of those sizzling fajita type cast iron trays. Nothing in the very spartan description lead me to believe that this was how my steak would come out. Now I understood why they don't let me pick a temperature, the steak continues to cook the entire time! Additionally, they must have splashed water on the tray to make a sizzling sound, and maybe to cool down the platter, but now I had a sloppy wet steak. Additionally it had very little flavor. I was extremely disappointed for $48 to have a sloppy wet watered down steak with very little seasoning. We ordered tallow fries which were excellent, but they had no ketchup on the table. The sides are sharable and when I saw no ketchup I requested it. To our surprise they brought out a tiny little serving of ketchup for all 3 of us to share, I tried to ask for another but the person left before I could ask for anything else and no one came back until we had finished eating. There is a lot wrong with this restaurant, it could be a whole lot better if they added in some soft surfaces like carpeting, anticipated customer needs like ketchup (or placed a bottle on the table), and if they didn't serve expensive steaks on fajita type trays covered in water. Going to try to give a realistic opinion on dinner at the new KoLE Chophouse. View on entrance is a nice upscale restaurant with a nice bar area. Had a reservation for Friday night, sat fairly quickly after arrival. Nice waitress, took care of initial menu/drinks OK. Had to wait a while until drinks showed up, ended up coming at the same time as an app, would have preferred them before. About the app, it was the Tuna Tataki. It was not similar to Asian place versions, as it was finely chopped tuna on top of a fried potato cake. The sauce was a limoncello creamy one with some sprinkles of chive oil and chives. Sauce was good but there was only 3 small cakes with tuna on top. Hard to justify $15 for such little amount of tuna, but it is what it is. The drinks were fine, but IMO if you are going to charge $15 for a martini, it needs to be in a chilled crystal martini glass. Points taken away for that. Dinner was the top sirloin, Duroc pork hock, mushrooms and au gratin potatoes. My wife is a rare to med rare person, normally not ordering sliced steak. If you are the same, that steak won't work, as it gets to medium sitting in the serving plate. It was not salted correctly and she needed to put extra salt on it. It turned out to be a ton of steak and we had to take half home. The pork was a knuckle charcoaled on a bed of sauerkraut. There was a strong taste of charcoal on the meat, to me it didn't quite fit with the kraut. It was extremely tender, unlike the crackling skin version of the German version. Acceptable, but the strong charcoal taste was off putting IMO. Then we come to the mushrooms and potatoes. Those were banging. The potatoes were nice and creamy and my wife loved them. Mushrooms were solid as well. Too much food, as we took half of it home. Highlight for my wife was the chocolate mousse dessert. Not many places make it right, here it was light and airy, not heavy and pudding like. Good coffee, but too many grounds in the bottom of the cup. Final thoughts, place is decent but they need to upgrade their product to match the prices they charge. The Tuna Tataki needs to have sliced pieces of Tuna to justify $15. Can't charge almost $50 for Top Sirloin with some butter on it. Top Sirloin is grocery store steak, not prime steak. Pork knuckle is a little pricey, but crispy skin roasted would be better than heavy charcoal flavor. With tip, we spent $240 for 3 drinks, glass of wine and the above food. Need to be better to charge that much. read more

Very disappointed with the service. We ordered our food and got the appetizer in a timely manner. But then we had to wait over an hour and then my husband's pork chop arrived. It took another 4 minutes for one of the sides to arrive. Then another few minutes for my burger to arrive. And then another couple of minutes for our second side to arrive. I have never been anywhere that the food arriving was so spread out especially after waiting so long. Then we got the bill and there was a drink we did not order on it. The food was good. First our reservation for a high top so we could enjoy the ambiance of the open fire was not honored, next it was 25min for our drinks and lastly the steak was most definitely one of the worst I've had. When our waiter finally checked on us I was asked if I tried the middle, sorry I wasn't paying $32 (a la carte) for the middle. The waiter was great and apologetic but there was no response from management which to be honest is the only reason I'm reviewing, I usually don't review one way or another. Great ambiance and meat. Upon initial observation, it seemed loud, but once seated it soon discovered this was part of its charm, because there's a working kitchen with flames, multiple fire grills going and people heaving wood logs about but that's what makes it so very unique. We went in the winter which, I feel, was the best time to go. We had the tomahawk platter with lots of assorted sides, including my favorite, chorizo and peppers served in a cute pottery pig serving bowl. The whole experience was full of charred meat and very sensual. I thought it was fascinating that everything focused around the oak wood fire grills. Great cocktails too. Great location, we had reservations and were greeted and seated promptly. The menu while $$$$ or $$$$$ had something for everyone. We ordered none in steak medium rare and it arrived medium to medium well and when questioned I was assured it was as ordered. A big disappointment on a $78 piece of meat! Asparagus medley and mushrooms were delicious. Decent wine and beer list and full bar. Attentive service. Only 3 stars because of the meat - 4 at the table all agreed it was over done for what I ordered. I could have insisted but being so quickly dismissed left a bad taste. read more

Would have enjoyed more if not for the huge prices and 2 plus hours to finish our meal. We were seated 15 minutes beyond our reservation only to be placed in a near empty room. The service was pretty bad as it was easily 30 minute gaps between drinks, appetizers, meal and dessert. Saw the waitress once for refills. Maybe some people don't mind if they are there to drink and socialize a lot. As far as the cost and food, they did not add up. Ate better for less than half the cost at Texas Roadhouse and Longhorns. The restaurant in itself was very nice, clean and although 75% full, did not seem crowded. I recommend if you have all night and nothing better to spend your hard money on. read more
