Beef Bacon & egg on a cheddar biscuit
    LaVonn T.

I visited the 32nd Street Farmers Market this morning & when leaving I stopped to get a Beef Bacon egg & cheese on Cheddar Biscuit sandwich.. Hot & Delicious.. Worth the wait.. The service was excellent.. It's never a time I stop & they aren't friendly..

Ok so I went back again on Thursday. This is place is one of the spots that allows me to brag about Baltimore being a great food city. Brisket Nachos- delicious and fresh made chips Short Rib Torta!!!!- this is probably the best Torta I've ever eaten from the fresh vegetables to the Amazing Short Rib. Totally worth it Great service, chill ambiance. Amazing kitchen smells.

    Duck scrapple biscuit sandwich (meh)

I've now tried Blacksauce Kitchen twice: once at their storefront on a Thursday and once at the Saturday farmers market. The tamarind duck sandwich with crispy leeks on the Thursday was phenomenal, service was fast and warm, and the portion size was generous. The farmers market was a very different experience: super slow service for a mediocre-at-best duck scrapple biscuit sandwich (just a bit bland, sadly). And maybe I got a bad biscuit, I don't know, but that part didn't really impress me much either, which is sad because I heard such good things and waited 40 minutes. I will definitely return for the Thursday menu soon, but I'll give the farmer's market stall a pass from now on. Still, I love the rotating menu, friendly service, and creative dishes at the storefront! Definitely recommend checking out this spot if one of the weekly dishes catches your eye.

I've been to Blacksauce multiple times since they have ha e a rotating menu and I'm always pleased. This week I went up there to try the seafood gumbo and peach beignets. Omg. Them lol pockets of joy were so damn delicious.

Little bit of everything. Can't decided which I like more. Mushroom tart, fish, lamb neck, smash burger, green beans, the big guy is a rib.

BBQ Lamb w. Free range egg on cheddar thyme biscuit

Whoa my breakfast biscuit was phenomenal! I was in town visiting my foodie bestie (@amandatheepicure) for her birthday. She has a collection of places she wants to visit and this was on it. Blacksauce Kitchen is a catering spot that is only open on Thursdays and Saturdays for normal takeout. The menu is constantly changing. On this visit, during the first weekend of November, we enjoyed an incredible barbeque lamb with free range egg on cheddar thyme biscuit. The lamb melted in our mouths and it was an explosion of delicious flavors. The cheddar thyme biscuit complimented the whole dish and really brought it together. It was so yummy. It was also a huge serving that had me saving half of the sandwich for later. Our other friend ordered a normal biscuit and their potato hash which was also yummy and unique with bits of apple in it. I'd highly recommend checking this spot out.

i continue to check out their food at the farmers market, but i have graduated to visiting their brick and mortar location too. they have a different menu every week, so check their instagram on wednesday afternoons if you want to know what they're dishing up for the week. i am still obsessed with their biscuit sandwiches, but i have also tried some of their dinner options on thursdays as well. their brick and mortar location has limited seating, but on a cold day there has always been a spot for me to chill and eat my food as most people take it to go. the most recent thing i got was the fried chicken box, which comes with a biscuit, mac and cheese, and your choice of dark or white meat with a hot honey drizzle. they do an excellent fried chicken here, both dark and white. it's perfectly crispy and compliments the biscuit so well. i don't like cheese so i can't comment on the mac, but my friend says their mac and cheese is next-level. as always, the service is amazing and the people working the counter are so pleasant and i look forward to chit-chatting with them when i come in. i have made it part of my wednesday routine to check their menu, and i will continue to patronize them until i am physically incapable of it.

Another incredible sandwich from Blacksauce Kitchen. We ordered the Fried pork loin with rhubarb jam from the store and it was freshly prepared and was extremely delicious. The sweetness and acidity of the jam did a great job balancing out the fatty pork loin. A perfect weekend spot to hit!

Only open for in-person biscuits and such on Thursday and Saturday mornings; otherwise, order ahead online or catch them at farmers markets (e.g., 32nd St Waverly). The barbecue lamb and egg on large buttermilk biscuit was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Note: Selections change often. Other than one booth and stools along a wall table, there are a few benches outside. As it was drizzling, I chose a stool--and then it got busy! There is also wall where local works are showcased. I've already been back or ordered online! Further note: Parking is metered on this busy street, but then you have to drive down oneway streets to park on 2-hr. side streets--which I do! Watch out for traffic! Although Blacksauce Kitchen is in Remington, there is only a Get Shredded Vintage and 29th Street Tavern along this somewhat barren, small industrial buildings area. However, a short stroll up the street has more places to see.

I finally stopped in after getting a recommendation to come here years ago. I'm so glad I did because the food SLAPPED. I got a skirt steak sandwich, mezcal glazed ribs, and wood roasted broccoli as well as a ginger sticky bun. What a meal! I liked the flavors of the skirt steak the best. It is a bit spendy but can't put a price on good food. The best thing is their menu changes every week. It's also a family run business and black owned. I can't wait to come back and try more food!

The staff were so friendly. During our visit we had two waitress checking in on us through our dinner. I went for Baltimore restaurant week and I must say I enjoyed every. I started with the spicy crab dip which came with a big piece of garlic bread. It was delicious but I do feel like the dip could have had more of a crab flavor. Next I did the Chipotle maple salmon with cilantro rice, also very delicious along with the lobster shrimp salmon belly curry. WOW! Lastly the peach creme brulee tasted more like sweet potato but that's the only thing I didn't enjoy. Would definitely go back!

We were there at 7 on a Saturday night (we were a few minutes late because we had a little trouble finding parking) and there was one other couple there and a small birthday party in the other section, but that was it. Whatever they're doing here for dine in, they need to keep doing. It's amazing. If dine in is this good, their catering must be insanely good. Service was wonderfully attentive. We both did the retaurant week menu, which is a great deal for $45 per person. Between us, we got the Maple salmon, Teriyaki chicken (with truffle oil pommes frites), "unconventional Caesar" salad, chicken dumplings appetizer and Sweet potato bread pudding for dessert. Everything was honestly amazing and so tasty. The chicken was succulent and pulled apart easily and the fries were delightful. My wife loved her salmon. Our appetizers were great. The bread pudding too. We will be back! If you're around their neck of the woods, go. One post-script note:The menu is a bit tricky to look at online, because you have to download it to your phone/tablet/computer first, and that's just a smidge fiddly if you peruse prior to showing up. But that's not a Water For Chocolate thing, that's a technology thing.

I ordered the smothered pork chop dinner with a side of rice and gravy and collard greens, and I added add'l sides of sweet potato casserole and stuffing (for an additional fee for each.) The gravy could have used a tad more salt or chicken bouillon, but the flavor was good and the gravy had a good consistency. The collard greens were really good. I'm not sure whether or not they use meat, but I liked them. I absolutely loved the sweet potato casserole. It was very sweet, just like I like it. The cornbread dressing was good, but I should've gotten my gravy on top of it to keep it super moist. Next time I will do it with the gravy on top.
