A small quaint seafood restaurant right in the heart of old downtown Ingleside. It is Saturday night and they have live music, an old gentleman with a guitar that has a mellow deep voice and singing softly, old style music that is in the background but not too loud, you can still have a conversation. This is where the locals eat, so you know it is good. And by the way it is very good! The service is not the greatest but the atmosphere, the building and the food are all five star. There is a mixture of seafood, Mexican food, and American such as hamburgers and sandwiches. Normally I do not come to restaurants that mix food and don't focus on one style or another. But this place came highly recommended and for a good reason. I only had the seafood, my wife had seafood and so did our friend. So I can't attest to the Mexican food or the hamburgers but I didn't come to corpus to eat those other foods. I got what I came for and it was good. For sides I had French fries that were actually not just french fries they were good, the grilled zucchini was really good, my wife had the mixed vegetables and she enjoyed them as well. My wife got the blackened shrimp which I thought was pretty decent but I am a fan of fried seafood so I enjoyed mine much more. My friend who took us here said that her husband and her have been coming here many times and has never been disappointed with anything that they have gotten. Portion sizes of the special are smallish. Definitely expected more being so close to the beach for the price. Ambiance is more old school beach shack. Service was good, would try something else that's a mainstay on the menu over the special. read more

This is one of those odd situations that is the opposite of what one typically encounters. Normally, the service staff has a better bead on things, while the kitchen staff is less than stellar. In this case, the food from the kitchen was spot on! Seriously, the food is pretty good and not the same old fried food baskets that one might expect for this genre. The staff, however... Firstly, the majority of them just seemed disinterested. Secondly, a small story to illustrate my point: Our group had ordered food, and I went to the bar to get a couple of drinks and told the young lady there that I would purchase them on a separate ticket. Bewildered, she asked if she could just put it on our dinner ticket. I responded that, no, that is why I stated that I would pay for the drinks separately. The drinks were poured, she presented me with the ticket for the drinks, and I gave her my card. When she brought back the charged copy that I sign, it was totaled out for the entire meal. Now, my intention, at some point, was to bogart the meal tab as well, but this is beside the point. She offered to void one transaction and charge the drinks but considering my ultimate plan, I simply had her, then, just settle out the beverages and complete the process. But... what if I hadn't intended on accepting the entire bill? The additional steps and inattention were simply frustrating. Did I mention that, at least, the food is good? The atmosphere is a bit touristy but the locals clearly enjoy it and the tall waiter is nice and friendly. Not many wore masks as of March 2022, if you're wondering. One thing that needs addressing is that there's a small tile step by the door that you might not see and could slip, this needs some kind of marking or highlighting tape. First timer at this place and I always wanted to try a good seafood restaurant next to the Texas Gulf. This place really hit the spot when it comes to good prices and tasty food to try! Went with a table of over 15 people and quickly got sat, advised of the specials, waters for everyone and quickly served appetizers. Tried the Calamari which was delicious and unlike any calamari I had tried before they even brought ran, tarter and lemons to enjoy the calamari with. We went in on a busy Sunday evening with a group of 16 people. We did call ahead toake a reservation, but, were told the restaurant doesn't take reservations. The first 7 of the group arrive and talk to one of the employees and let them know the size of our group. We waited maybe 5 or 10 minutes to be seated. Everything was wonderful from taking the orders to bring that many dishes out with NO mistakes. We even brought a birthday cake in with us and they kept it cold for us until we were ready. We were told there weren't a lot of places to eat unless we went to Port Aransas. Well that was wrong. We were here for our 40th anniversary and went here for dinner. I had the fried fish basket with onion rings. I normally eat tartar sauce but tried what I thought was catsup. It was a cocktail sauce and very good. I shared the onion rings with my wife and still could not finish my meal. Took some home. She had the Aloha Burger with Swiss. She said the coconut mayonnaise sauce made the burger. We came for dinner the other day and was able to find a seat immediately after walking in. Our server was great and very attentive and talkative. I ordered the blackened shrimp tacos with beans while the husband ordered the blackened chicken sandwich with fries. My tacos were pretty good, and the beans were great. The chicken sandwich was also good, but the bottom bun had to removed since it was soggy to the point of falling apart. The fries were great and i kept stealing my husbands. For dessert we got the brownie al a mode. Very good and the ice cream was apparently homemade. My only upset is that we found a hair buried in the brownie a la mode, as well as an eyelash in my husband's fries. I decided not to say anything about the hair, but after leaving, that's when my husband decided to mention the eyelash. All in all the food was good enough for us to give it a second chance later on. read more

We have visited this place several times in the past, and found it to be quite satisfactory. Unfortunately, today it was not. You know the feeling you have when you finish a sub-par meal, and wish you hadn't eaten there? Six employees standing around by the bar, and the manager is bussing tables. We have had several birthday meals there with friends. My wife's birthday is in three days, and they said now you have to come on your birthday. The food was dry and overcooked. We ate it and told the manager it was not the usual quality and that we were not satisfied. She shrugged it off and went into the back room, not to be seen again. I went to Blackbeard's Too and was one of only two diners whiles couple were dining at the bar. Food was ok, I had fried oysters that were good and not overly done. Veggies were great! My one complaint was that I heard the waitress bitching about working for tips. She only stopped by my table once. What kind of service is that. You didn't try to sell me another beer or dessert. So if you sold me two more beers and a dessert your tip would have greatly increased. Key: sell more food and drink and you make more money. Great atmosphere and fast service. I ordered the Blackbeard Baja tacos with fried shrimp and it was amazing! The coco loco sauce they use is so tasty and the tortilla is actually a mixture of corn and flour and is my new favorite. I would definitely return and highly recommend. The only drawback is the parking because it's very limited so get there early or you will have to walk a little bit. read more
