Our experience 5/16/26 at Pier 77 in Rockport, Texas was extremely disappointing and concerning, especially as a parent. My 6-year-old daughter was served her meal last, and when she finally received her chicken nuggets, they were raw and undercooked inside. Unfortunately, she had already eaten one nugget before we discovered it. We are now monitoring her closely for possible foodborne illness, including salmonella exposure, which no parent should ever have to worry about after dining out. What made the situation worse was the way management handled it. Initially, we were only offered 50% off the bill, despite the seriousness of serving raw chicken to a child. They did not automatically remove or comp the child's meal or the replacement meal. When we expressed that we appreciated the gesture but wanted to speak with the owner about the situation, management became defensive rather than taking accountability. Eventually, we were told the entire ticket would be covered -- but only if we agreed to never come back. That response was shocking and unprofessional. At no point did we feel genuine concern, accountability, or care for our child's wellbeing. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but how a business responds says everything. Serving raw chicken is a serious health risk, especially to a young child, and the handling of the situation left us feeling dismissed rather than cared for. We cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience. read more

Was excited after reading all these reviews that we decided to try this place. Boy was the outcome disappointing. 1. They took about 10 min to come to our table and ask us what we wanted to drink. 2. When the waitress came back and asked us what we wanted to eat my kids answered and also asked for refills the lady say I'll refill when your food comes out.... You heard that right... 3. My son's order was the last one to come out and all we got was "sorry." 4. The food had no flavor. 5. When asked if we wanted our change back after we paid she never brought it back to our table. Loved this place! The staff was welcoming and seated us immediately. We ordered the fried calamari and shared a shrimp seafood boil with the sausage, potatoes and corn add on. Not only was everything delicious, there was so much food leftover we're getting a second whole meal at home from the leftovers! On our visit to Rockport/Fulton we kept having people say to try Pier 77. Wow, so glad we did! Very casual, friendly atmosphere. The menu is pretty simple and they deliver! We liked it so much we went back again. The fried fish, shrimp and oysters are lightly breaded and cooked to perfection. The sides are plentiful and fresh. No complaints on portions - my husband and I split a fried fish platter for lunch and were full. Fresh iced tea was delicious. The only warning is that they serve Cajun boils so if you're sensitive, ask to sit away from the kitchen. We will definitely go back on our next visit! During a day trip to Rockport, we made a food stop at Pier 77. It was one of the recommended restaurants and I am glad that was our food choice. Décor and ambiance are very basic with fishing motives. Wooden bar area and simple linoleum chairs and aluminum tables. Nothing fancy and pretty good prices. The food was actually pretty good. I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and this salad was immense. It came with two full chicken breasts, which were well cooked and savored. I was impressed with the size. My friend ordered onion rings, which were delicious, some corn on the cob and a smaller side salad. I really enjoyed this restaurant. They had huge portions, good prices and excellent service. Wow! Wonderful food and service. We were visiting Rockport this week and ate here two nights in a row it was so good. Brittany was our wonderful server. The busboys were very friendly and helpful too. I ate the shrimp salad. The grilled shrimp was delicious and the salad was very big. My husband had the garlic shrimp which was delicious. The hush puppies and other sides were delicious too. It's BYOB and there's a liquor store next door. The prices are reasonable especially for the large portions. This place is a hidden gym in Rockport... I would drive from New Braunfels Texas to have dinner with my wife here. Anytime... Our server was Gina and she was unbelievable... She had a great personality and took good care of us. Now with the food, I had the shrimp salad, and it came out on a plate half the size of the table... 13 grilled shrimp on top of the biggest bed of salad you've ever seen... We were there on vacation and were looking for a good place to eat for dinner before heading back to our hotel in Corpus Christi. When we drove up, we noticed quite a few cars in the parking lot, which differed from other establishments we had driven by. Upon entering, it was nice and clean. Many families were dining in at the time. It's hard to find a good restaurant that all of our kids will enjoy. The food was amazing and the portions were HUGE. Our family ordered u-peel shrimp, calamari, fried fish basket, shrimp Alfredo, pork chops with baked potatoes and steamed vegetables, and seafood gumbo. We finished the appetizer and barely made a dent in our entrees. It was nice to have so many leftovers on such a tasty meal. It's a cash only spot, but there is an ATM at the entrance. The waitstaff were extremely friendly. We 100% would come back the next time we visit Fulton. We wish there was a spot similar in Houston! read more

I had read the reviews and should have listened about portion sizes but damn y'all. 12 coconut shrimp per order plus fries. It was a lot!!! Couldn't even eat half. Hubby had the shrimp pasta and let me tell you my hubs is born and raised outside of Rome Italy, he knows pasta and he is a little snooty when it comes to how it's cooked and it was perfect. The sauce was lovely, not too much and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. But the pasta itself was cooked to a perfect Al dente! He was actually shocked.... At both the cook and taste but shocked at the portion. In Italy that dish would be for a family of 4!!! Was a little bummed that there wasn't a bar to have a cocktail with dinner but you can byob just didn't know that part. Next time will bring an ice chest! Service was great and even left my crab rock because it was perfectly matched to the restaurant logo. Hope whomever found it enjoys it. Will def be back next time we are at the coast. The fried seafood is especially satisfying: crispy breading, tender meat, and plenty of sauce for dipping. The linguine dish is big enough to share. Same with the burger, juicy double patties around crispy bacon. The fries are sort of average. They are somewhat thick cut and have slight breading. They were served crispy and hot. The dining room has a laid back feeling. Good for hanging out and conversation. We will seek out Pier 77 when we are craving big piles of seafood at the coast. read more

The serving sizes were huge and the servers and I think one of the owners were very kind to my mom who rarely goes out anymore. The seafood plates were tasty and easily defeated me when I tried to finish it off. The decor is a bit rustic but that just reminded me of the Rockport I remember and going to eat at the Big Fisherman.
