We saw this place on our RV reviews site and thought we'd try it out. Now I'm NOT a big seafood person... but the boil was great! We ordered the Dot Combo which included: 1 Blue Crab, 1lb Crawfish, 1/2lb Shrimp, 1/2lb Sausage, New 'taters and Corn. We ordered it spicy with lemon... and wow! What a zing! I think if we went again I'd just order it with a little less spice lol. I ate the sausage, corn and potatoes, and my husband worked on the seafood. We couldn't finish it! We ended up bringing it home for leftovers the next night. The staff was great! One of the servers (not ours) stopped by to help my husband with the crab (never ordered a whole crab before!) Great food, great service but be prepared to pay for what you get. The boil my wife and I had was 3lbs of Crawfish, 3 lbs of Snow Crab, two corn, two potatoes and mushrooms. Our granddaughter had her own boil without spice and was a happy girl. One beer one soda and the bill was $200 not counting tip. Delicious and worth it for us. read more

As a Baltimore native, finding a properly cooked blue crab outside of Maryland is quite the undertaking. I am proud to say Boiling Pot got it just right! Having downed a third of my body weight in crawfish during the 2025 season (I am not exaggerating...but that is a story for another day) I was super excited to see that when most places have thrown in the towel, I was still able to include them in my boil this far into the game. While they definitely weren't at their peak, the flavor still rivaled that of some of the better known crawfish places in San Antonio. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the flavor and the spice level of my Dot Special was exactly as I had hoped. Spicy, buttery, juicy...what's not to love! Other than...the extremely giant mess our server made upon pouring it onto the table with a bit less care than I would have hoped, resulting in a constant battle to sop up the edge of the table lest I have seafood juice permanently in my lap (the only reason for knocking off one star). While I may have been living in fear the entire meal, I'd say it was worth it! The mountain of food served for the price is far more than what you would receive in any other gimicky boil place and we appreciated that greatly. Drinks were cold and came quickly, and everyone we encountered was super friendly. The only thing I'd warn you is that the place is small, and voices carry, so be ready to be part of everybody's conversation unless you sit outside! Overall, if you are looking for a classic beach experience with great food and great drinks - Boiling Pot is your place! read more

First off would like to say the food was great and the atmosphere was very cool, the lemon juice boil was a bit much; next time I think I will do just spicy, BUT be prepared to take out a loan for a bottle of beer! We ordered a few millers as usual not thinking much and when the bill came I nearly spit it out when I saw $11.50 per bottle! Yelp has an outdated menu saying $3-4 per bottle so we were not thinking the prices had gone up much more. Okay, 1st time at a joint like this. And was a little nervous. This place is 4+ stars, The crab boil was on point cooked to perfection, sweet and clean, Delicious. The Shrimp was good to really good. Sausage was tasty, lesson learned being a rookie start with the Crab, then work your way down the food chain. I went backward and had to order a 2nd boil. My family meets up in Rockport every year. Going to Boiling Pot is one of our traditions. It's always amazing. Today's review is more about the service after the service. I left my credit card at the table and didn't realize it until I had already left town. I called the restaurant to see if they had it and they did. I asked the person who answered the call to simply cut it up because I was already out of town. She suggested having her manager mail it to me. That was more than I expected. The manager called the next day and I had my cc back three days later. That simple gesture saved me hours of resetting the cc number on my various accounts. read more

Watch yourself at the boiling pot cuz the seafood is coming in hot hot hot! One of my favorite restaurants when I visited Texas. It was a banger. The only disappointment was oysters weren't in season during this time. So they had none! I heard it's a must try! To start off, the ambience was nice. Decor all around filled with lights. It felt like a nice and cozy atmosphere. We ordered one of the combos to share and it came with complimentary bread and butter. I don't recall the sauce but it was their specialty sauce. From the crawfish, to the crab and the sides everything tasted fresh! You even get a hammer, crab cracker and tools to help you dominate the eating floor. They have a wide variety of brews and service was great. My only complaint is that I would prefer the boil in a bowl opposed to the table. I feel like it would retain more sauce. Ive been to boiling pot plenty of times and i was never disappointed till today. The waitress we got was pushing the spicy boil and said there was no mild. So we went ahead and tried it. It was not freshly cooked it was soaked in straight up oil with no taste at all. Oh but it was spicy all right! We heard a table getting mild after we had finished eating and were confused. The boil seemed it had been sitting there and they needed to get rid of it so thats why the waitress was pushing us to get the spicy. I dont ever remember my boils ever being so oily and tasteless. read more

We moved to Rockport last July and we have been wanting to try the Boiling Pot but tried another crab boil place on the outskirts of town, and were so disappointed that we were a little caustious to try this place. Our Daughter came down for Xmas and she wanted seafood so we decided to give it a try. WOW place was awsome we got Spicey Super Boil with lemon and butter. It was probably the best crab boil I have had. The flavor was perfect the wait staff was johnny on the spot and we got sample cups of the Gumbo and decided to take a 1/2 gallon of gumbo home it was that good. We sat outside and it was so much fun people watching and eating crabs, shrimp and sausage. It doesn't get any better. The only thing that I would say is I can't wait to go back when its blue crab and crawfish season becuase they were not in season when we went. Other than that can't wait to go back! read more

So, here in Rockport, Texas on a project and am sharing the wealth by supporting local eateries and I came across this joint called the Boiling Pot. I was thinking to myself, "yeah one of those places serving seafood and calling it Louisiana seafood". Well! I Love the shack like ambiance and the New Orleans jazz music playing brought me back to New Orleans. Oyster chucking station too? Yep! The hostess sat me down, paper on the table and the menu was all about boiled seafood. If you are a drinker, plenty of beer brands to choose from. I had a dozen raw oysters, steamed clams and even a cup of red beans and rice. Needless to say, I was stuffed. A little pricey but what isn't these days. It was exactly what we were craving, a good old fashioned Cajun boil. We got the Dungy combo and added a half pound of king crab and an order of boudin. We got the boil slightly spicier than it normally comes and it was the perfect amount for us, extremely flavorful and garlic forward in the best way. The only thing we weren't fans of was the free bread and butter that they give you before your food, it was just plain bad, but the rest more than made up for it. We chuckled about the ceiling fans that moved so slowly they provided no air. Very casual place. - be prepared to get your hands dirty. Terrific service!
