Not a lot to add over my last review. Friendly attentive servers, very reasonable prices, and good food. Inside is very eclectic and unique. My mixed fajita combo plate was only$15! A nice spot to eat just across the street from my hotel.

Some friends had indicated that this was a place they'd like to go as we were making our way home from a weekend conference in Corpus Christi. I was part of a carpool, so I was going to be going regardless. Like my wife, I kind of had low expectations of the place, but we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is a bit weird-- they're leaning into a bit of a pirate vibe, but its a very kitschy attempt. In a sense, it builds a "hole in the wall" type of atmosphere that works for some people, but doesn't really inspire much confidence for a seafood restaurant when you first walk in. Maybe that's why it was empty when we came by? Everyone ordered something different and we all seemed happy with what we received. It's really one of those places where nothing on the menu is going to be the "best you've ever had" but everything on the menu is good. I opted for the coconut shrimp basket with potato salad while my wife went with the fried fish basket with french fries. The portions were huge for the price, and very filling. The waitress disappeared at two different points, including when we needed the check, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and we'll probably be back in future.

This place is okay, but it definitely has its perks. You get a lot of food for the price, and the prices are really affordable. The food quality isn't the highest, but it gets the job done--especially if you're just looking for something filling without spending much. It's also a nice spot for bigger groups since they play live music, which adds to the atmosphere. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Overall, I'd go back if I'm in the mood for cheap eats with large portions.

It's a quaint space that obviously has history with a dive vibe. I had attentive care and watched other tables review the same. There was live music during my meal. My tuna was delicious. Would go again.

Well known Texas coastal establishment. We arrived on a Saturday evening and didn't have long of a wait. We put our name on a list and was called 20 minutes later. Our server was great... friendly and helpful. We ordered calamari, seafood queso, seafood salad, catfish basket and diablo pasta. Pros: Good service. Food was good. Shrimp was great. Not a long wait. Lively Casual Live music Cons: I prefer calamari with a mixture of rings and tentacles so the calamari was not my favorite. Food was good, not great. Lively Live music Overall, a nice visit to a local establishment with live music, drinks and good food.

We love to find restaurants that are off the beaten trail. Blackbeard's should have a trail right to it. The fun atmosphere and location off North Beach adds a fun experience. The staff were fabulous and every recommendation that our wonderful waitress suggested was spot on. We had a mix of fish tacos, fried fish, and on the recommendation, I had the blackened catfish. Man it was delicious. Some of the best seasoning and catfish I've had. It was worth our drive e down from San Antonio.

Visiting for a conference in Corpus. I just searched some local fare for good food, cool vibes, and maybe an ocean view! Blackbeards on the Beach is quite deceiving. It's not on the beach nor can you see the water. It's a dive bar. It looks like a pirate themed Mexican restaurant or refurbished Denny's. I'm sure it's cool when there's live music and the like, but this is a dark and dank dive bar. I didn't eat here so no comment on the food but the atmosphere left more to be desired. Their signature Grog was good but waaaay overpriced. Blackbeard's needs a facelift! ‍

The food is pretty good, service was fine, especially with how many people were there, and there was some pretty nice live music. Definitely go if in the area!

An amazing hangout for great food and brew in Corpus Christi North Island. The service was great. Dominique did a wonderful job of walking us through the extensive menu. I started with the calamari. The very best I've ever had. Lightly breaded and lightly fried. For mains, I had the fried Mahi with onion rings while my wife had the chicken fried chicken. Both were simply the best.

Shrimp sampler with coleslaw, YUM! After a day by the pool at the Doubletree Corpus my husband walked across the parking lot to order to go. The 6 deep fried shrimp were huge & filled me up with the coleslaw. My husband enjoyed the Cajun & cold peel & eat.

Seafood was on our mind & not really knowing our way around, we picked Blackbeard's mostly because of the name. We chose well. From the purple exterior to the low ceilings to the vintage 80s (the real 80s, not what Gen Z thinks it is) vibe, we were not disappointed. Tasha is an amazing server. She helped us navigate the substantial drink menu and find the frozen margaritas! We tarted with a mango and a raspberry and ordered the seafood queso. The queso may have been the best of everything we ordered - high praise indeed. It's a regular, thick queso with plenty of crab and shrimp added, and it comes with sturdy chips. I got the Baja fish tacos and my wife ordered the shrimp poboy. The tacos - I ordered them blackened, and I'm glad I did. The pieces of fish were HUGE! Everything was fresh, and the fish was perfectly cooked. The poboy not only came with an abundance of shrimp, but the also put a little skull and crossbones brand on top of the bun. Cute! We later ordered a flight of margaritas (for dessert, let's say). You can do a whole lot worse for fresh seafood. This was a five-star experience through-and-through, and Tasha was 10 out of 10!

They were open a month ago and spectacular, and there's no mention of closure on yelp.

    Do they serve calamari steak?

I wish we still did! This was a favorite of my late husband's, but we removed it from the menu some years ago. We do have fried calamari on our appetizer menu.

I went in not knowing what to think as there were so many mixed reviews, I went with my S/O and myself came out with a mixed review. Here it is. First entering Pier 99 it is a very typical feel for a coastal seafood joint, there are plenty of humorous signs along the walls and indoor and outdoor seating options. We were sat promptly as it was a Tuesday afternoon and not a prime time. After looking at the menu we decided we would stick with appetizers and drinks, we started off with the seafood queso and the strawberry Daquiri. Our queso came out promptly within 5 minutes, was very flavorful and was easily the best part of our dining experience. Our Daquiri however did not come for 15+ minutes and we had to ask our waitress a second time for them. She had brought them out promptly after making the second request however upon getting them and trying, they were nothing notable. They did not have much of a strawberry flavor to them and though it was very nice on a hot day to have a cold drink they did not carry what I had high hopes in for a Daquiri. For the rest of our order we decided to try the hot wings (buffalo tossed) and the Fried Calamari. Both came out promptly and were about what we were expecting based off of the reviews. The hot wings were very flavorful and had a good buffalo coating and paired nicely with the ranch provided, the texture however was not there. The wings were not nearly crispy enough and could have used a couple more minutes frying. The calamari was average as well, the lemon brought it up some however the marinara was in a little to go cup and was chunky and difficult to manage with some of the calamari. The texture was good on the batter however the squid itself had inconsistencies as some pieces were crispy and others chewy. At the end of the day if you wish to stop in for a snack and drink after a day of touring the area this is a good spot to do so, however for a meal I would prefer to go a little ways further for something I enjoy more.

We were seated in a cramped area with little A/C, right next to the kitchen. To-go orders were being prioritized while we still hadn't received our meals. When our appetizers arrived, they were cold, and the shrimp in the main dishes was cold to the touch. At that point, we canceled our orders because no one wanted to risk getting sick. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the managers were nearby doing paperwork and never once checked on our table, despite us being there for over an hour. We had family travel in for my husband's graduation, and unfortunately we wasted so much valuable time at this restaurant. Very disappointing experience.

In the end we're appalled that there were such bad reviews. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by their brewery and a chalkboard with their current drinks on tap! We were seated immediately and pleased with the ambiance off the bat. I got the cerveza de la flor and my S/O got the sparkling kiss. I was impressed by the beer and she was very happy with her drink! We started with the ceviche fusion and we were skeptical at first. It is delicious on its own however the kitchen did not salt or pepper it seemingly at all. So in order to truly enjoy it you must be bold and salt/pepper it yourself. It brought the ceviche to life and made everything pop. Very good choice for an appetizer. For our main dishes I she got the Bang-Bang shrimp pasta. You are greeted with a half pound of popcorn shrimp covered in a delectable spicy sauce that pairs so nicely with the pasta. It is very filling so you will have leftovers (unless you've eaten nothing all day of course). I got the Crawfish Étoufée and I was very pleased. It came with 2 sides (broccoli slaw and maque choux) and both were good pairings. The broccoli slaw was tasty and I was very happy with how sweet and savory it was. The maque choux paired amazingly with the étouffée. So well in fact that I mixed the 2 dishes. There is so much value in what you get and we went home with full bellies and plenty of leftovers for the next day! We highly recommend Railroad Brewery!

We ordered at 3:55 pm and long story short- did not receive our food until 4:45 pm. As you can imagine, this wait was frustrating. We overheard at the table next to us a server, C., offering bread to her party, about 35 minutes into this dreaded wait. We respectfully flagged her down and asked for some, saying we had been waiting forever without any bread, she explained it is usually upon request only but was more than happy to bring us baguettes. Now, this was my first time at Landry's Seafood House, though I've been to several Landry's restaurants before as a LSC member. But how would I know to request free bread? After 30 minutes of waiting, shouldn't F. have just brought us some? I would have as a waiter. But no- we had to ask another server. C. started taking care of us little by little. Kudos to her for trying to salvage our experience with the bread and even free ice cream. But there was just so much wrong. One thing was our drinks were empty visibly but we had to constantly remind F. about refills, and he was not checking in on us otherwise. Instead of him anticipating our concern and explaining the hour long wait for food, we eventually asked what was taking so long and he checked only then. He said the kitchen was backed up. There were also discrepancies in our ordering that made him charge us for free substitutions, but I luckily looked over the receipt so he could fix it. The worst part of all of this was the food was not even hot, not good, I will stick with local restaurants when visiting Corpus going forward. My thinking was oh, I can trust a Landry's spot- but I was wrong. I did see the manager much later in our experience come check on us. I wanted to say all of this to him then- but didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
