Perfect spot for margaritas and boiled shrimp. Busy but good! Server on top of a quick stop on our way out of town

Atmosphere- Seemed Inviting. Food- Smelled Great Service- Seemed Okay BUT...If you're black don't come here. We were given menus and told to pick a tavern, which we did. Then we waited.. and waited...and waited some more......not even a glass of water after 20 minutes. We. Asked a server who was behind us if there was any server available. She claimed she would check. 10 minutes later... NOTHING...NADA....BUPKISS We walked and went sompe place else. We highly recommend you do the same. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We made a reservation weeks in advance, so they knew to expect a large party, yet the service was mediocre at best. We were seated in a cramped area with little A/C, right next to the kitchen. To-go orders were being prioritized while we still hadn't received our meals. When our appetizers arrived, they were cold, and the shrimp in the main dishes was cold to the touch. At that point, we canceled our orders because no one wanted to risk getting sick. What made the experience even more disappointing was that the managers were nearby doing paperwork and never once checked on our table, despite us being there for over an hour. We had family travel in for my husband's graduation, and unfortunately we wasted so much valuable time at this restaurant. Very disappointing experience. read more

My husband and I are here visiting Corpus Christi. We had lunch at Pier 99 today. First, it took way too long for our food. We both got the shrimp tacos. How long does that take? Second, we asked for a side of avocado dressing. The waitress didn't bother to tell us it was $1.99 extra. Third, we used our debit card, which is like cash, and the waitress charged us the credit card price. I confirmed there is no processing charges for debit cards. The waitress argued with my husband and charged us the credit card price anyway. There was a cash price and a credit card price. We've never seen that at a restaurant. Needless to say, when we come back, we will not eat there again. read more

So fun! We were greeted and got to choose where we wanted to sit. We picked outside with a view of the ocean and the Lexington! Very casual. Cool bar area. Nice breeze blowing so we were not hot. There is live music too! Our server was prompt and efficient with a sweet smile! GREAT prices and choices. Good kids selection for the grands! I got the fish & shrimp with cole slaw, lunch special. Perfect amount and tasty! It is very windy, in fact blew over one of the sodas. Just be aware. Worth it bc of the view! read more

I was in town for Fourth of July weekend and my hotel was one block away from this restaurant so I decided to stop by. When I was there, they had live music and there is plenty of seating at the restaurant. The food was really good and the service was even better. I really enjoyed the fresh air on the patio with live music. I will definitely be back again. Do not feed the seagulls lol. Peace. read more

First - I have to say the restaurant is cool. 100%. Cool location. Cool interior. Exactly what you expect from a "beachside" restaurant in Corpis. So for that - 5 stars. Ok.. the service ... I've never heard so many "I DONT KNOW"'s from a Waitress before. Multiple times questions were asked - 1. Do tomatoes come on the Club sandwich (in the picture you couldn't see and it didn't give an explanation)? - Waitress : I DONT KNOW ... (my friends daughter who wanted to order is allergic) - so ok.. just NO TOMATOES PLEASE. 2. What kind of fish is the tacos? - Waitress: I DONT KNOW - ok.. guess we will just see. We were not trying to be complicated, just wanted to make sure we enjoyed our food and no one needed an epi pin! We ordered hush puppies for appetizer- I added coleslaw (she didn't know how much the sides were) We each had different items and the menu does look great! For sure! I ordered from the Lunch menu because I didn't want too much food. The Shrimp and fish with fries - $9.99. My daughter ordered the fish tacos - $13.99 Son bowl of Gumbo - $6.99 Two friends - 1 got the Club (minus tomatoes) -$12.99 the other got the Shrimp Alfredo- $15.99. Enjoyed breeze, watching the birds, saw a guy net fishing off the pier and another older gentleman swam like 15 laps around the USS Lexington. Food came out... Gumbo had spilled into my fries and they were soggy. Gumbo had spilled into the friends Alfredo. Fish tacos were cold. My fried fish and shrimp were dripping with oil. We're still eating because we're hungry from the 2 hour drive down from SA. Totally forgot about the "appetizers" and almost done we get the Hushpuppies - Too full to eat them. But.. ok. Again.. loved the environment, loved the vibe, our waitress seemed sweet (the CUSTOMER SERVICE VOICE AND DEMEANOR was on point) but over all.. I would come back and have a drink or two and maybe just try the peel and eat shrimp at night just for the view. As someone who works in food service - know your menu. If you don't know - find out. It wasn't busy. By any means. We were there at 3:30pm there were only 3 other tables and 4-5 other servers. read more

We went in today around 4:00 the place was busy but we waited patiently. Once sat our waitress brought waters took our order and left. A while goes by then the appetizer show up still no drinks. The food runner kept going to the wrong tables. It's clear that these two was either their first day or got zero to no training what so ever. Thirty minutes later she comes out to refill the water. At this point we were fed up and left. Please train your staff on how to handle busy days. Every table in her section got zero to no service. Don't worry we won't return. Oh the best part of this place is the music and the view......Thanks read more

Like most other past reviews the location is the biggest plus. On the water and great views. There is a heated section and outside section for the cold nights (or days). We walked from our hotel for dinner about 5pm. Not busy at all and servers and host waiting as we walked up. Family of 5 with three kids so heated section by the door. We ordered and app and meals - which we enjoyed. Norman burger / hamburger / kids burger and a seafood medley dish for the wife. Not one complaint about the food at all one improvement could be asking how burgers should be cooked by the server. The range of cooking for burgers was wide. Not sure if server just out what she thought we wanted or the cook cooked as they wanted it. But I'm not too picky about that. Where the service could improve was the server. Bella I think sue said. Lots of room for improvement here. Stood at the wrong end of the table to be heard first off. (Be at the end of the person ordering / paying. Presented food and asked right away how does it look (before biting into anything ). Then gone. And by gone is we never saw her until after finished awhile and present the check. She did not return to check after our first few bites. She did not return to offer refills of drinks. She did not return to clean dirty dishes and so on. Another server asked how our food was ! Understanding how a server can make or break a review and a restaurant- we only had an issue with the server and that is easy with a low tip. The location / restaurant/ food were all good for sure ! Better server would have been a 5 for sure read more

If you're on beach vibes and island time then this place is great. $4 beers, reasonable app prices. Service was pretty prompt as I was sitting at the bar top. Positioned perfectly between the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium this spot is perfect for a quick snack or stop in for a drink after visiting either attraction! We decided to try a couple different appetizers as we were not in the mood to get an entire meal. Both my S/O and I started off with a strawberry Daiquiri and the seafood queso. We were presented with the queso which was arguably the best part of our visit. The chips were not quite salty enough for our taste but no problem as the table had its own! We were unfortunately not brought out our daiquiris for 15+ minutes, however after asking our waitress she promptly brought fresh ones out. We did not have any issues with our Daquiri other than the fact that the strawberry flavor was lacking, there was a little strawberry flavor however nothing to write home about. We then decided we would try the fried calamari and the hot wings. Both came out in a timely manner and were on average for what we were expecting. For our hot wings we decided to do an ever classic buffalo. While the flavor was there the texture just did not quite do it for either of us. They did not come out soggy however they were breaded and were not as crispy as we hoped for. The tops were however I believe a couple more minutes in the fryer would make them much better. The calamari was also average. The marinara cup that were brought was small in proportion to the amount of calamari (in my opinion). There was a good mix of rings and legs in the calamari, and the breading was nice however they did not stand out to us. Overall I was not disappointed nor was I impressed, I would 100% stop in after a day at the aquarium or USS Lexington and I was hungry for some seafood. I am not sure that I would stop for much more as there are better options for meals close. read more

We saw this restaurant from the flight deck of the USS Lexington Museum. It's just a quick 1 minute walk from the base of the museum walkway so we decided to have a late lunch here. We were seated right away on the deck - which had great big umbrellas for shade and the breeze was awesome. Our server, Jacquelyn, was great! Friendly and attentive. Our food was good. I had a burger and my husband had the bourbon glazed (?) chicken sandwich. I also got a mango frozen daiquiri... and it was good! There was also live music (one man "band" - Billy Snipes). We enjoyed our visit here. read more

Very mid food. The restaurant is smelly and needs to be deep cleaned. Prices are fair.

It's safe to say my family will not be returning. We came here on a Thursday afternoon, mainly due to the location. We were told there would be a 15 minute wait. No big deal. When we were finally seated, we got our drinks pretty quickly. However, after ordering, it was about 1 hr 10 minutes before we got our food, and my order came out wrong. Not to mentioned it was cold. The server was nice enough, but any time we asked about our food, we were told it was the next ticket up. She also wasn't around much. I drank my ice tea very slowly. Meanwhile, I watched as several other tables received their food. When my husband and sons ate, they said the food was decent, but nothing to rave about but it was cold too. The manager at least comped the meal for us. Over all, save your time and go elsewhere. read more

I finally decided on the chicken & rice as well as an onion ring appetizer. No complaints. read more

This place was terrible. The food was disgusting. The fish was jerky and full of bones. Do not waste your money. Horrible.

It was nice to sit outside, the breeze blowing with live music playing. The food was also good. However the time to be served, on a slow Sunday afternoon, was crazy. We waited over an hour for our food (grilled chicken, a Ceasar salad, a corn dog, chicken strips and fish & shrimp plate). Seems like the kitchen is down. Our server was great, super friendly. read more

Being positioned right between the USS Lexington and the Texas State Aquarium this spot is the perfect place to grab a quick bite and drink after a tour. I went in not knowing what to think as there were so many mixed reviews, I went with my S/O and myself came out with a mixed review. Here it is. First entering Pier 99 it is a very typical feel for a coastal seafood joint, there are plenty of humorous signs along the walls and indoor and outdoor seating options. We were sat promptly as it was a Tuesday afternoon and not a prime time. After looking at the menu we decided we would stick with appetizers and drinks, we started off with the seafood queso and the strawberry Daquiri. Our queso came out promptly within 5 minutes, was very flavorful and was easily the best part of our dining experience. Our Daquiri however did not come for 15+ minutes and we had to ask our waitress a second time for them. She had brought them out promptly after making the second request however upon getting them and trying, they were nothing notable. They did not have much of a strawberry flavor to them and though it was very nice on a hot day to have a cold drink they did not carry what I had high hopes in for a Daquiri. For the rest of our order we decided to try the hot wings (buffalo tossed) and the Fried Calamari. Both came out promptly and were about what we were expecting based off of the reviews. The hot wings were very flavorful and had a good buffalo coating and paired nicely with the ranch provided, the texture however was not there. The wings were not nearly crispy enough and could have used a couple more minutes frying. The calamari was average as well, the lemon brought it up some however the marinara was in a little to go cup and was chunky and difficult to manage with some of the calamari. The texture was good on the batter however the squid itself had inconsistencies as some pieces were crispy and others chewy. At the end of the day if you wish to stop in for a snack and drink after a day of touring the area this is a good spot to do so, however for a meal I would prefer to go a little ways further for something I enjoy more. read more

Wish I could rate the food but we never got waited on. We ended up leaving after waiting for 15plus. We wanted to try this place for lunch today since we were visiting the aquarium. We went around lunch time 12ish. Sat down ordered. Drinks came out fast. We got our food and realized we didn't get any silverware at all or any cocktail sauce or tarter with the seafood we had ordered. Only reason why I gave 4 out of 5. Other than that the food was good and fresh. The fried fish could have been meatier or bigger it was very thin and fried. The oysters were delicious. Will come back again! read more

I wanted to take some time before posting to explain my experience carefully. The best part about this restaurant is definitely the location -- it's hard to beat the view. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. I've tried both grilled and fried items here and haven't been impressed. The fish tacos, in particular, were so salty I couldn't even finish them. On my next visit, I decided to just enjoy a drink by the water while my family ate dinner. Sadly, the drinks were far too sweet and not enjoyable. They aren't overpriced, but that might be because they don't contain any alcohol. I ordered a beer instead, thinking that would be a safe choice, but it came out warm -- definitely disappointing. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place for food or drinks. To make matters worse, the restroom was hot, stuffy, and had an unpleasant odor, which really took away from the dining experience. read more

Ok ... just let me start. In town on vacation and looked at the surrounding restaurants and Pier 99 showed up and they had crab boils. So this is right up my alley. So we went there on Saturday August 8th and was by promptly told that their kitchen was back up and it would be at least an hour wait or more so we left and do many others. Than comes Sunday afternoon at 4:00 ish still a wait and than it's was shift change so wants we paid out our waitress we didn't see anybody else. And than let us talk about the food... I don't know if there was more salt in out boil or the ocean .. and the appetizer left more grease on out lips. Would not recommend this place ever.. read more

The United States flag should have been a warning- especially when you have a retired aircraft carrier from World War II in your backyard! But hey... I tried because of local convenience/location. The oysters were freshly battered and fried... the salt content was so off the charts- thank goodness for fresh horseradish! The ownership need to remember the city council that refuses to clean common areas around the restaurant - DOES NOT mean " carte blanche" to reflect the same in your establishment. Poor Selena rolling in her grave at the disgrace of Corpus Christi! I only came to pay my respects to her and the poor sailors disgraceful reflected with a flag rotten and hanging in distress! read more
