This was my first trip to rockport and on my last day with my friends we stopped in and I loved the feel and look of the place. The warm wood, small stained glass made it feel homey. The service was great as I they were very friendly and the FOOD! The food was amazing, I got a cheese omelette with hashbrowns and a biscuit. It was amazing! Well the service was okay which is pretty much their only saving grace and why this didn't get one star. The food was bland and I mean very bland so bad to the point that it seemed to be all sysco or frozen product. Want more business? seasoning your food would be a solid first step. Having fresh produce, seasoning your food, and appealing to people other than half of the geriatric population in Rock Port. The price point for the food quality just doesn't match at all and to be completely honest I'm appalled that they get business because of that alone. To sum it up, frankly, I was very disappointed. The ambiance was questionable you can absolutely tell that they favored their regulars over new customers which was also disappointing. Overall I'm disappointed and will not be back. read more

Food was amazing! Service was prompt. Our server was really nice and attentive. I got the two hot cakes with bacon. I think the pancakes were some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. I have no complaints about this place. We came on a Friday and it wasn't too busy so we got to sit down and had our food come out quickly. Has a nice southern diner atmosphere to it. I don't know why there are many negative reviews, my experience was great! I had the "Peggy's". It came with perfect eggs and sirloin steak, hash and biscuits, all of which was amazing. Service was great too, we just sat down and had our orders taken promptly after. Everyone was very nice and the atmosphere was enjoyable. On Sunday morning, this is an Almost full place, a good sign. The coffee is good, and my iced tea is very fresh. The prices are very fair and the biscuits seem to be a star. On my diet I won't try the sweet roll. Got a DJ's omelette with hash browns and my wife got two eggs and hash browns. Very good for taste, and very filling. My iced tea was refilled without asking, and my wife's coffee stayed full until she hit her limit on caffeine. A clean restaurant. Overall a very good, neighborhood restaurant that has good service. I came to this restaurant on 9/6/25 and unfortunately had a very upsetting experience. Despite waiting for long time no one came to greet me, take my order, or even acknowledge us while other guests who arrived after me were served promptly.. eye contact was made by all waitresses, and I was ignored. It genuinely felt like I was being overlooked for reasons I can't help but feel were discriminatory. Whether intentional or not, the experience left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. I hope the management takes a serious look at how they treat all their customers. I won't be returning, and I would not recommend this place to others based on how I was treated. though I would not even rate them a star unfortunately, this app would not allow me to post my review. I have been to this restaurant several times over the years and the quality has continued to decline. Today was the final straw. We went for breakfast and after a hour wait we finally got our food. I had a ham and cheese omelette and my wife had eggs with pancakes. It appeared they must have been sitting for a while due to them being luke warm at best. The bacon was definitely precooked and sitting for quite a while. The side door was constantly being left open, so flies were coming in. The register is 5 feet from the door, so I'm not sure why they can't keep the door closed. About the only decent thing was the iced tea. Probably time for new owners and new management. read more

Popped in for lunch with a group of 7. The wait time wasn't bad. We had to separate between a table and booth for the kids in our group. No worries, totally understandable as the place isn't very large, very much a while in the wall, mom and pop type of place. The staff was incredibly friendly and so very attentive. I believe Isai was our waiter? Amazing! Didn't even have to order the side of ranch for my fries or ask for extra tartar sauce, it's like he knew. I left feeling like a local and not someone vacationing for the weekend. The seafood platter I ordered was absolutely delicious. Perfect crunch, flavor, the oysters tasted fresh. The okra..I cannot express how amazing the okra was with just words. It was perfectly seasoned and crunchy. No slime. My only issue is that it wasn't breaded with cornmeal but I can definitely overlook that. The chicken tenders and onion rings my child ordered, she loved. My husband's French toast breakfast, also delicious. For what we received, I definitely expected to pay more. You definitely get more than what you pay for in quality and quantity. This establishment is unquestionably very popular with the locals. We got here at the height of the Sunday lunch hour but we didn't have to wait too long to get a seat and things seem to flow well. The obvious reason this place is so popular is because their prices are extremely reasonable (check out our receipt). There are about 18 tables inside but no outdoor seating. I would have expected something more from a place that bills itself as a bakery that makes only biscuits and sweet rolls. The total wait time for our order was 25 minutes due to a packed house. However, we noticed that other customers that came in after us were served long before us. Their pancakes and breakfast menu items were very good. Even their salsa was great. Keep in mind that they stop serving breakfast at the noon hour and switch to their lunch menu. All in all, this place was worth stopping at and we'll be back again. read more

Short story, we will NEVER be back. OK food but TERRIBLE service from the top of their short-stack. Long story: I wanted breakfast at 10:30 on a Saturday and this spot didn't have any wait. Sat down and was told the cook wouldn't make breakfast. While we had this conversation with our waitress, a neighboring table was yucking it up with the GUY in charge for that day. I asked very nicely for pancakes and our waitress went to the kitchen and asked but was told absolutely not. Fine. I can make do with lunch and get pancakes some other time. (you probably see where this is going) Fast forward to that neighboring table ordering AFTER we did. As their food started coming out, it was obvious that THEY had received a green light to order breakfast. Biscuits & gravy. Scrambled eggs & bacon. But then, one of them got a short stack and I was SHOCKED! As we continued to wait for our food to come out (LUNCH food, mind you) my husband asked our waitress the question we all wanted the answer to - WHY?!? The waitress was embarrassed and even said she knew this would be an issue. Her answer was what we expected and we could've walked away fine at that point. BUT my loving husband wanted to speak to the "GUY" who had chosen to make breakfast happen for them but not for us. GUY is asked by waitress to speak to us and his verbatim response as heard from the kitchen was, "He!! no, I'm not dealing with that $h!t" and then he sent out a second waitress to "deal" with us and the mess GUY had created. Don't try to come here on Tuesday or before 7 AM, they aren't open. But there they are open, they put out some great food. It's located on the corner and parking street side is limited. I didn't see a parking lot anywhere else. There are probably 20 tables in the place. I ate here for breakfast several days in a row. Great cooked omelets. I was a bit disappointed in the hash browns but, hey, it's a diner. The coffee cup was huge, the coffee strong and black and the cup was never empty.
