Wowza...what a find! CLEAN, nicely decorated, with great wall art, excellent menu, and our server, Stephanie was super! A versatile menu, the majority of which is seafood, as we're in Rockport, but look out for the PERFECT Ribeye. Cooked exactly as ordered, beautifully seasoned, and one of the most tender and flavorful Ribeye steaks, ever. It includes 3 very tasty, grilled shrimp, and two sides. I had the hottest baked potato ever, yum, and delicious green beans. Dylan enjoyed his steak enourmously, with creamed corn and a loaded baked potato. Although we arrived starving, we could both only eat half. No problem, lunch the next day and Bizou was thrilled. Thank you Stephanie! Also, for Rockport, they're open late (9 pm). TLDR: Nemo's is a strip mall restaurant that serves seafood and Vietnamese food. It's one of the few spots in town that offers alligator. While the menu is pleasantly diverse, the food left something to be desired (e.g. overbreaded & overcooked coconut shrimp). The kids menu is 100% deep fried. I don't mind the strip mall location (some of the most amazing restaurants reside there) or the tacky decor (i.e. a poster of an open window on the wall). However, I just wasn't impressed by the food. My main dish -- the coconut shrimp -- was very heavily breaded. The shrimp lost its succulent texture and became one with the breading. Sort of like a mushy organism. Some of the best coconut shrimp I've had has always been lightly breaded -- where the shrimp still retains its pop and is complemented by the batter, not smothered by it. The sides didn't impress either. The cabbage was okay but the creamed corn was a fail altogether. The cream was super liquid-y and sank to the bottom while the flavorless corn sat on top. Unlike the shrimp which united with the breading, the corn seceded from the cream. The alligator was probably the best part. It was pretty heavily breaded but since the tough texture of gator works best when concealed (unlike shrimp), it worked well. The kids' menu was pretty disappointing. It was on brand (fried shrimp, fried fish, chicken strips -- all served with fries). However, I was really hoping to find at least one option that wasn't battered and deep fried. Even just a grilled cheese or a hamburger. The shrimp and the chicken tasted pretty good but once again, heavily breaded. Oh, I must give credit where it is due -- the fries were actually really good! Service was mostly great. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We are in Rockport for a few days, saw the good reviews on the restaurant and decided to have lunch there today. It's a very cute clean place with really nice staff. I waitress was very helpful in guiding us through the menu. I decided on the fried red snapper, with fries and green beans. There are a number of simple common sense cooking things that would have made the meal. First of all, season your fish and your batter before frying. My fish was bland and over fried. Their tartar sauce needed a lot of help, all I could taste was the mayo. The French fries were good, but the green beans were over cooked and too salty to eat. We are usually Port A kind of people but decided to stay at Rockport this time around. When you're by the coast, most people want fresh seafood! Based on everyone's review, this seemed like the most logical choice around the area. Don't let the location fool you. We were a bit skeptical because it was part of a shopping center but there didn't seem to be any good local seafood restaurants near by. Walking in on Saturday around 4:30p.m, it wasn't too crowded (it did pick up about an hour later). It was clean and we were greeted immediately. They had a lot of staff on hand! Our waitress was incredibly kind and patient. She was very attentive too during service. What we ordered: - Fried calamari: they are freshly made (didn't seem frozen) and my kids (age 9 & 12) devoured them. They weren't rubbery like some could be but soft and fried perfectly. - Egg rolls: yes I know. Egg rolls?? At a seafood restaurant. Trust me, we were perplexed along with some Asian dishes they had on the menu! However, these are a must order!!! They were stuffed, seasoned and fried to perfection! The wrapping was more of a lumpia wrapping in my experience more than an actual wonton wrapper which gave it a lighter more crispier texture. They served it with sweet chili sauce and it was so good! A weird combination of seafood and pork egg rolls but very good!!! - 1lb snow crab boil: my daughter loves crab! You can get it spicy or none. We opted for spicy because we were told it was more like Cajun seasoning (e.g. slap ya mama) which my daughter can handle. While all of us were already served and eating, my daughter had to wait a bit longer for it because they were making it fresh. It came out piping hot. The amount of crab was correct but the Cajun flavor had a very distinct seasoning in it. It was over powered by what we believe was cinnamon. A very unusual flavor for Cajun, in my opinion. It was a hit off putting after you ate quite a bit of it. I'm not sure if the snow crabs were boiled in a salt water mixture, but the meat of the crab, without the seasoning, was overly salty. My daughter tried rinsing it with water and it didn't help. We've eaten crab more times than we can count and we've never experienced overt salt crab! This is the one dish we wouldnt reorder. - Mahi Mahi (blackened): I'm assuming they don't do blackened because when asked, we were told because it was a bit slow, the kitchen can accommodate. The fish was cooked good. It wasn't dry, it didn't have a fishy taste to it and it was seasoned well! My husband and son loved it! It comes with three jumbo shrimp and these were cooked and seasoned to perfection as well! The seasoning on these plates were on point! - Stuffed Flounder: the flounder had a crab mix stuffed in it and it was delicious! Grilled to perfection and heavily seasoned just right!! I would definitely order this again!! This dish also comes with three jumbo shrimp which were delicious! Sides: - braised cabbage: so incredibly good, cooked and seasoned perfectly!! No salt or additional seasonings needed! We were surprised at this side dish!! Buttery and yummy all in one! - French fries: they seemed to be battered slightly. They were seasoned and fried perfectly! A great crunch! No soggy potatoes! - baked potato: mine was slightly undercooked but still good. Hard to mess up a potato other than under/over cooking it! While we didn't care for the boil's seasoning, I would still highly recommend it! The food was so good and most everything was seasoned perfectly! We were pleasantly surprised! The food came out very fast too! We didn't wait long aside from the boil. If this is where the local's go, you know it's good! We will definitely come back if we come to Rockport again! read more

I got the stuffed red snapper, it should actually be called loaded red snapper as the crab sauce was there as a topping and the fish filet was at the bottom. Anyway the fish was over cooked and tasted rubbery. Tried lobster bisque soup and for $7.99 a cup that's not even 6oz quantity wise. She talked to my crazy toddler and grabbed him chopsticks to help keep him entertained. The food was fresh and hot. First time eating here... the food was good and cooked to perfection. We had the fried mushrooms to start. While the mushrooms were good, the ranch was very tangy and not the best, unless you prefer that style. For the main dish, I had the Nemos platter that had plenty of fish, oysters, shrimp, crab cake and scallops. All was good, but the fish was exceptionally good and flavorful. My wife had the chicken fried steak with a baked potato.. it was also flavorful and plentiful. Our waiter was very tentative and made sure everything was perfect. She also kept our ice tea topped off. We arrived soon after they opened and the place started filling up quickly, so be prepared for that. The egg rolls, more like lumpia, came with a sweet sauce but were missing the traditional lettuce wrap and fish sauce that would have elevated the dish. The stuffed crab tasted fairly generic. Service was friendly but a little on the slow side. The setting--a small strip center in front of Walmart--also doesn't lend much coastal charm.
