Mushroom Swiss burger with small fries.
Christina S.

We came to Rockport on vacation and decided to try Pop's after a recommendation from our realtor. She and her husband raved about Pop's burgers and who doesn't love a good burger? I had the mushroom Swiss burger with fries and my husband had the pepper Jack jalapeño burger with added bacon. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious!! The service was great, our waitress was a sweetheart and the atmosphere was nice. Lots of Astros decor and being Astros fans how could we not feel at home? Pop's will definitely be a stop each time we are in the area.

If anyone really wants to know where the best burger in Rockport is, look no further than this little unexpected jewel! No frills, 2 pool tables in the middle and wine served in a plastic cup. A salty Lass named Karen will say don't call to ask if your dog can come.... the answer will be NO. The JC Burger with Pepperjack cheese & jalapeños was the ! A fantastic selection of .

Dirty and smoky. Food is okay at the best. The staff was nice. Locals seem to like it. Really limited on this side of the bridge.

Nothing fancy loved the ambiance. Immediately greeted and self select of a table. A little bit of a wait for menus and drink orders buts that's okay, Rockport is a laid back place on my opinion. I had the 2-egg (choice of scrambled) with hash browns and choice of meat-Canadian Bacon and toast, I chose an English Muffin. My husband had the grits but asked for Catfish instead of Shrimp and they obliged. Thank you Chef!! Overall I enjoyed my first experience at JJ's and will most definitely return for lunch. I overheard the chicken fried steak is a winner.

We have lived in Rockport for a year now and I would imagine I have frequented this establishment…read moreprobably 30 times during that year. Always great service, excellent food and great prices. Guess something has changed. That all got ruined by one rude employee today. Came in this morning at 10:10 and ordered a migas breakfast plate to share. The waitress asked us if we wanted flour or corn tortilla(s)! I said can we have both please. She said I will have to charge you for the extra tortilla. I'm sure she knew I looked astounded but I said how much is a tortilla. Response: I don't know I would have to ring it up to know that... I simply said if it's more than a dollar for a tortilla I don't want it and I did say charging for a tortilla with migas is nuts as she walked off. So it's now 10:40, keep in mind no meat in the micas only onions, tomatoes and eggs. The onions were huge and raw, so 25 minutes to basically cook two scrambled eggs. There were only two other tables with customers so they were not busy at all. Never had that happen here before but just wait. Food comes and The server sets down the plate with one flour tortilla and an aluminum roll with two more corn tortillas, ok that's good. She adds, I just went ahead and brought you a couple corn tortillas at no charge. Didn't mention "paying" for them for us! We thanked her and went about splitting and eating our breakfast. About that time another server walks over, not the owner, not the owners daughter but just another server and says directly to me in a very condescending and rude tone " your server was nice enough to PAY for your extra tortillas but in the future don't expect that to happen ever again"! Wtf! She felt the need to come over and try to shame me over a freaking tortilla that was none of her business to begin with. I responded don't worry about it because I will never be back! I then asked to speak to the owners, weren't there but daughter of owner was. Explained the situation and while she was apologetic for the rude waitress she also tried to add about the economy and blah blah blah but seriously. We all know the economy sucks but charging more than $1 for a tortilla that they sell at Walmart next door for $2.99 for a 20 pack. Give me a break. So will not be returning to or promoting this breakfast/lunch spot to any more of my visiting friends, family or my community. I guess JJ's is off our list. It's a shame too.

We had a great experience at The Water Well Cafe in Victoria and would absolutely come back…read more From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were genuinely kind and attentive, which made a big impression on our whole family. We also appreciated the Christian decor throughout the restaurant and enjoyed learning that members of the team participate in an annual mission trip to Guatemala. There was even Christian merchandise available for purchase to help support those trips, which was a really meaningful touch. The food was just as good as the service. Our kids were very happy with the chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers--fair warning, the burgers are HUGE and come with a very generous portion of fries. Everything felt like classic comfort food done right. We also tried the chicken tenders, fried okra, and tater tots, and all of it was delicious. I ordered the hamburger steak plate with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables, and it was flavorful, filling, and exactly what I was hoping for. The only "regret" we had was not ordering the onion rings--they looked incredible when we saw them come out for another table! If you're in Victoria and looking for a friendly, family-oriented spot with great food, this is definitely worth a visit.

Wish I can give it 6 stars. SteerBurger Grill & Grub is such a hidden gem!…read more It's a food truck with an indoor dining area with AC, which honestly confused me a little at first, but ended up being a great setup. The folks working there were super friendly, and I really appreciated the hospitality. The dining area was also very clean. Now for the burger and fries: OMG, what a surprise! The burger was seriously so good. Easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. I visited close to closing time, so I was the only one there, but the place seems like it could be a really fun spot to hang out, especially with the outdoor patio seating. One small idea, if they haven't already considered it: it looks like there might be enough space for another food truck or two. An ice cream truck would be especially fun for families and could make the space even more interesting. (or beer garden for adults... hey you never know haha) Overall, great food, friendly people, and a really cool setup. Definitely a place worth checking out.

We have eaten here before and the Customer Service was as great as it was this day. The quality of Burger and fries not so much! My Burger was medium which was OK but it came in one big piece and one small piece. The French fries were of low quality and not one of the pieces was over 1.5 inches long! As usual we had to go to the bathroom to get paper towels as every time we have been there they appeared to be out. Very Disappointed! We don't mind paying the current market price for a very good burger but today, We would have gotten better burgers and great Fries at Whataburger! Our experience 5/16/26 at Pier 77 in Rockport, Texas was extremely disappointing and concerning,…read moreespecially as a parent. My 6-year-old daughter was served her meal last, and when she finally received her chicken nuggets, they were raw and undercooked inside. Unfortunately, she had already eaten one nugget before we discovered it. We are now monitoring her closely for possible foodborne illness, including salmonella exposure, which no parent should ever have to worry about after dining out. What made the situation worse was the way management handled it. Initially, we were only offered 50% off the bill, despite the seriousness of serving raw chicken to a child. They did not automatically remove or comp the child's meal or the replacement meal. When we expressed that we appreciated the gesture but wanted to speak with the owner about the situation, management became defensive rather than taking accountability. Eventually, we were told the entire ticket would be covered -- but only if we agreed to never come back. That response was shocking and unprofessional. At no point did we feel genuine concern, accountability, or care for our child's wellbeing. Mistakes can happen in any restaurant, but how a business responds says everything. Serving raw chicken is a serious health risk, especially to a young child, and the handling of the situation left us feeling dismissed rather than cared for. We cannot recommend this restaurant based on our experience.
