The restaurant is open concept, so it's warm! The view is nice & worth it though especially around sunset. Our server was friendly & attentive! She had a lot of tables and still managed to do great. Our food was delicious. Everything was cooked well & all had good flavor! The sauces they gave were nice touches We did a 3pm 90 min boat tour with buccaneers- which leaves from snoopys! This restaurant is right next to it! I only mention this so if you're visiting and want to have an itinerary lined up I definitely recommend doing the boat tour and stopping for dinner at Docs after read more

This was my first time trying Doc's and if there is one thing to be said - the atmosphere can't be beat! nestled under the bridge, you are sure to get a great view no matter where you are sat in the restaurant. Popping in for an early lunch, we had front row seats to the water and items came out really quickly. For drinks, we opted for a mermaid water (in a bucket, of course) and costal cooler and both were delicious starts to the meal! To eat, we had the Cajun fries (toped with crawfish tails, bacon, and cheese), the self titled "clam chowda," and the grilled coconut shrimp. The fries were good, but the crawfish tails were quite dried up and rubbery. Would have rather them not been included all together, as it really took away from the crispy yet fluffy fries that were cooked to perfection. The chowder, which the menu boasts is the best in town, isn't lying! A delicious bit from the first spoonful to the last. The grilled coconut shrimp was the star of the show. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, it is my worst nightmare to get an overcooked shrimp and they nailed it, along with the light sides the dish felt refreshing and just what you want on a humid/hot day. I had seen reviews that mentioned it is pricey, and it certainly is. A lot of places on the island are, but this felt a little too over the top in comparison and for what it was. Something to keep in mind especially if you are feeding a large number of people on your bill. read more

This place was highly recommended. First time going. I didn't see a reservation option online and they aren't on OpenTable. We arrived and it was an hour wait:/ we decided to stick around wait. Thankfully it didn't feel that long because we walked around and enjoyed the views until our buzzer went off. We initially got a big pretzel and some chips and salsa to start off with. Yum:) My son got the Seafood Lovers plate and loved it and I got the Surf and Turf. Delicious. Our waitress was wonderful. Would definitely go again and just hope for a less wait time. read more

Still love this place! So much so that we did eat here twice in the last 3 days and I have no regrets. Great location on the water with excellent views. I've also found my new fave dish which is the Doc's Yard Bird! Can't wait to take my mom and mother in law here soon! Also, if you have a military ID you receive 10% off your meal. :) read more

We visited with a large group of 7 adults and 2 children, which can sometimes be a challenge for a restaurant, but this place exceeded our expectations. The menu offered a great variety of options that satisfied every type of eater in our group. From fresh seafood and fish tacos to burgers, salads, shrimp dishes, and kid-friendly favorites, everyone found something they loved. Every meal that came to the table looked fantastic and was cooked perfectly. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, the shrimp dishes were delicious, and even the burgers and fries received rave reviews. The drinks were equally impressive, with refreshing cocktails and non-alcoholic options that complemented the meal perfectly. What really stood out was the service. Despite our large party, the staff was attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly. Food arrived promptly, drinks stayed filled, and we never felt overlooked. The restaurant itself was also clean, welcoming, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable atmosphere for both adults and children. Finding a restaurant that can successfully accommodate a group this size while delivering excellent food and service isn't always easy, but this one did it effortlessly. We would absolutely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal with family or friends. Highlights: Great variety on the menu Delicious seafood, tacos, burgers, and salads Excellent service for a large group Clean and welcoming atmosphere Family-friendly with options for all ages We'll definitely be back! read more

We had such a great experience here at the bar with Rebecca while we waited for our table. We ordered a few drinks and came on military Monday so we got a discount since my partner is ex-military. I got the Vida Rum Runner. The rest of the table ordered a Paloma, a shiner, and a straw Basil. We also got some chips and salsa. Once we moved to our table, we had Skye as our server. She was awesome and gave us some really great suggestions. We ordered shrimp po-boys, salmon, clam chowder, and another appetizer. Everything was yummy and we especially loved being able to watch the live sunset for dinner. Special thanks to Skye for making my mom's birthday so special. She turned 82 during our visit! read more

Lots of seating. We couldn't sit on the outside deck, but were close enough to get up and see the dophins playing! Our server, Shay(?) was a delight. Friendly and recommended some delicious things. We ordered the clam bites and the chicken fried steak.. it was huge! Came with 2 big portions. We shared it and still took some home! They had live music too. All in all a great place to come for dinner. read more

Came to Corpus to celebrate our daughter's birthday- choose Doc's for dinner. So glad we did. We were a party of 9 and were seated right away even though it was extremely crowded. James was our waiter and he was amazing. Our drinks were never empty long , appetizers came out fast ( the seafood queso and souther egg rolls were amazing !). We had a wide range of food- salad/ buffalo chicken sandwich/ hamburger / and all the specials - red fish - tuna -flounder and they were all amazing : have eaten many times in Port A and this tops them all and worth the drive from Port A to eat here. The Sunset was also a great ending to dinner ! One more shout out for waiter James he was so amazing ! read more

Doc's Seafood & Steaks - The sunset off the dock - was beautiful - Seafood Near Me - Corpus Christi, Texas

One of my favorite places on earth, and I have reviewed it several times in the past, but not working in CC anymore I only get here during Sandfest. It was a chilly, overcast day so none of the standard beautiful sunny views, but the food was as good as ever. I almost always get the special, and this day was no different. I had the blackened redfish over rice, and it was fantastic. A couple different local brews and some great company made it a complete day. read more

She gave us her recommendations and the specials. We ordered drinks as well as some of Ally's recommended entrees. The food was so flavorful. I highly recommend the crab stuff flounder. Stopped to eat at Doc's Seafood & Steaks on the trip home from Port A. The parking lot was full and the restaurant was very busy on a Sunday night. We were able to find parking and were greeted by the host. We were seated quickly with no wait and got a large booth in the dining area to accommodate our party of 7. It was too dark by the time we got there for us to enjoy the beautiful view. They had a live music performance which was enjoyable. The service was very friendly and attentive. Was very engaging with the kiddos at the table and a very friendly demeanor. I have to say that this time around the quality of the food was not as good as I remember. I ordered the Coastal bacon wrapped shrimp, 6 jumbo shrimp stuffed with cilantro lime cream cheese and wrapped in applewood bacon. The specialty side was squash and zucchini and a side of rice. They did provide me with a butter dipping sauce upon request. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and chewy and they were also a bit smaller than I remember. The kids in our party had a cheese burger and grilled cheese kids meal with apple sauce. When the grilled cheese sandwich came out and the kiddo did not want to eat because it was greasy and shaped like a circle; the server took it back to the kitchen to address the concerns. Also ordered the fried shrimp platter, 8 shrimp hand-breaded in panko and comes with fries, slaw, and hush puppies, tartar and cocktail sauce . Also had the catch of the day platter with mahi mahi served with rice and the vegetable of the day. The Costal cob salad with chicken includes fresh mixed greens with pico de gallo, cheese, egg, bacon and avocado. Over all a good dining experience with attentive and friendly service. Just wish the food had been on par with the last visit. read more

This place offers great food with stunning views of the sunset over the water. It can get busy, so expect a wait. If you have to wait, you can always head downstairs and hang out. They have a bar down there and a couple of games to play, like cornhole. I will warn you, though, parking can be really tough for dinner - even parking on the street can be hard to find. They have live music on most nights, but I'll warn you, sometimes the performer in the dining room can be a little on the loud side and just a tad annoying - it's not absolutely terrible though. They offer a decent selection of local and regional beers, but none on tap. They also have a full bar for your favorite cocktail. They have covered outdoor seating on the deck, but you can still see the sunset from inside if you are seated in the right area. When I was there, they had the big doors open, so a decent breeze was coming in, and you could see the sunset. The crab-stuffed flounder was my favorite - it's a must try! I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Great service and food. Went on a Friday evening around 5pm and they were too busy. Got a seat outside on the patio and they had additional fans going to help keep it cool. Grant, was the person who assisted and I got one of the specials - Parmesan crusted redfish. This was amazing! The crust on the fish was crunchy and gave a nice contrast to the delicate fish inside that was cooked perfectly. The sauce on top was equally delicious and the only negative was it was a shrimp sauce however there may have been one or two pieces of shrimp. So, that could have been better. The green beans were seasoned well and the rice also flavorful. The restroom was sea decorated and a different set up with a split stall, one right by the entrance and the other on the far side with the sinks in-between. The views were great! Overall delicious food and good service, I'd recommend to pop in especially if you can make it for the sunset, has to be amazing. read more

Docs Seafood and Steaks is an absolute must if you're in Port A! We came just in time to catch the sunset, and the atmosphere was incredible, relaxed, coastal, and the perfect way to end the day. The service was fantastic too, quick, attentive, and super friendly, even during a busy season. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Snapper, and wow, it was huge and absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily a dish I'd get again. The rest of the table had the Fiesta Burger (with a veggie patty), a seafood platter, and the mahi-mahi, everything looked amazing! For appetizers, we tried the hush puppies and Wisconsin cheese curds, and those cheese curds are a 10/10 must-order. But the real star for me? The clam chowder, creamy, rich, and so good I'd come back just for another bowl. I'm definitely giving this place a four out of five, for the only reason of being the veggie burger had a little too much soy, and the fries were a little dry! But that is no reason to not come! This place is amazing! If you're looking for great seafood, friendly service, and an unbeatable view, Docs is the place to go! read more

Top drawer service and outstanding sides cooked the fish we caught same day. Very very cool feel.

If you're looking for seafood that'll make you question why you ever settled for frozen fish sticks, this is the spot. I went all in with the Seafood Lover platter: 1 flounder fillet, 4 shrimp, and a crab cake fried so perfectly, Gordon Ramsay himself would have shed a single tear. The shrimp? Honestly, I'm convinced they trained for the Olympics before they ended up on my plate. Now, the margaritas. I started with Doc's Margarita and thought, "Hmm, this is kind of weak." Fast forward to the last sip, and suddenly I'm smiling at strangers like we've been best friends since kindergarten. The Skinny Margarita, though? Hands down the winner-light, refreshing, and sneaky in the best way. Add in some great live music, an atmosphere that says, "Yes, order dessert, you're on vacation," and a waitress who deserves her own fan club. We had such a blast that we broke the golden rule of vacations: never eat at the same place twice. Yep, we went back the very next day. 10/10 -highly recommend. Bring stretchy pants. read more

Our first time here. We came to Doc's after a couple other destinations were closed unannounced. Docs was really busy. A shot wait on the deck out front, a chance to chat and we were called in. Being a summer day, the doors were open to the back deck and it creates a breezy, airy environment. Wife ordered the Seafood Lover's plate...a little of each of their fried offerings and I ordered a ribeye plate (prices at market prices)...a little surprise on the market price came with the bill. The service was on point, not too frequent and the food arrived in very reasonable time given the number of diners. My steak was a little on the gristle-y side though cooked perfectly and the flavor was fantastic. The baby potatoes were great. The green beans included were a bit over seasoned with the garilc...some heat I didn't expect. Wife thought her entrées were great. She had some leftovers...not me. So the price is what docks a star. It was a little surprise since the price for my meal wasn't on the menu...I guess I should have asked. I've not paid quite that much at a couple of steakhouses in town. But it WAS a good steak. We're already ready with what we'll order on our next visit. read more

Doc's Seafood & Steaks was the place my brother saw on the JFK Memorial Causeway Bridge (which becomes Hwy 358 headed towards Corpus Christi) and told our group of 11 he wanted to have dinner there. Once again, another long wait for dinner, but not quite as long as they estimated. I didn't know which area to choose, but downstairs was packed so I headed upstairs to get my name on the list. After dinner, my dad complained, "They had a shrimp boil special downstairs." Everyone seemed to enjoy the food - even my vegetarian (sometimes pesco-vegetarian) sister-in-law. I wasn't crazy about the live entertainment that night (June 20, 2025), but I have heard much worse. It was hard to carry a conversation because it was fairly loud most of the time. Our waitress was great, but of course I don't remember her name. The manager came by and checked on us - he was friendly also. It was refreshing to see more than just fried seafood on the menu, so here's what I ordered: + grilled coconut shrimp + Doc's paloma RATING BREAKDOWN Food: 4 | Service: 5 | Ambiance: 3 | Price: 4 read more

This is a go to spot for beautiful sunset views! We timed our arrival with this in mind. We ordered a few appetizers, which were ok. My husband and I were in Corpus for a summer getaway, and Doc's did not disappoint! Is there a long wait? Yes. The closer you get to sunset, the busier it'll be. Is it worth the wait? Also yes. We came around 6/6:30, knowing there would be a bit of a wait since it was getting closer to sunset. They're notorious for the sunset views. There was live music inside the restaurant, and the singer was extremely talented. (My husband isn't a live music person and commented on how well the singer was doing.) Our waiter kept the drinks coming, and my husband and I ordered the catch of the day. It was incredible. There are a lot of menu options if you have dietary restrictions. I can't have gluten, so I made some modifications. We will definitely be back! read more

We came in as a party of four around 12:45ish on the Fourth of July, and got seated outside, probably didn't even wait five minutes honestly. Even with it being the holiday, it was busier inside than it was outside, but still quite a few open seats everywhere especially considering the time that we came in. We ordered the Fourth of July special, Blackened Flounder with Avocado Baja Sauce + Pico, and then regular menu items of Clam Chowder (small bowl), Coconut Shrimp, Fish and Chips, and the Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp. For Gluten-Free, the Flounder was safe to eat, and the Coconut Shrimp was safe to eat, but got the sauce on the side. They said that there were supposed to be coconut flakes sprinkled on the shrimp, but it seemed to have only been sauce on the shrimp and that's it, disappointing for what you would think of 'coconut shrimp'. The Fish and Chips had a good crispiness to the fried part of the fish, and had a good flavor and level of saltiness with it. The potatoes were good, so adorable since they were all different sizes. The beans were also surprisingly good, not too crunchy but not too soft, and really well seasoned. Our waitress did a really good job making sure our drinks were refilled, we can drink a lot of drinks, and she was super friendly, so it was fun getting to chat with her while we were there. I believe her name was Rebecca; she was super friendly and a great waitress. Even the manager of the restaurant was friendly, but ended up having issues with the prepaid cards (such a rip-off for small business restaurants). Definitely will come back here if we ever come down to the coast area! read more

My dinner here was great. The fish (a blackened Jerk Snapper) was cooked excellently and had good flavor. The seasoning and texture of the green beans was great, the fried shrimp were top notch and the rice was good too! Problem was just how long everything took even in regard to the estimate (waitress said our food would be out soon, but it took about 20 more minutes). This would be not so bad if the place had air conditioning, but me and the rest of my party were miserably hot - it's a given in a place like this. If you're going when it's cool out, I can recommend Doc's all day. read more

Love this place at sunset. Great food and atmosphere and the view is the best in Corpus Christi.

Solid 4.5-5.0 experience! Docs is your quintessential midscale restaurant directly next to a body of water with an actual doc for boats to hook up and visit from. We arrived at docs for lunch and noticed they have a downstairs bar and an upstairs restaurant! We went with the upstairs version and got sat at table by the water. Our server was prompt and helped to elevate the experience! We went with the Ahi tuna dish and hush puppies to start. Both were good imo. The Hush puppies was just a little over fried but the remoulade sauce with it was great. The ahi tuna dish was great and comes with a bunch of sides. The tuna could be seasoned a little more with less sauce. Overall it was enjoyable. For our main we split the fresh red fish and I'm glad we did! This dish was huge filet of red fish, fried, then a gravy like sauce on top! It comes with 2 sides that were plenty of food and a good value! We each got a drink and they were good! Docs provides a nice atmosphere with good food, great service and a fair value! I would recommend any visitor roll this into their visit! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Corpus Christi. A waterside hangout with a dock, a deck, and live music, Doc's offers a relaxed, Coastal Vibe - perfect for watching the sunset. I had dinner there with a group of six. Two of us had salads and four had burgers. My seafood salad was piled high, but I admit to a touch of envy. Way overpriced for the quality and quantity and mixture of the food. The market price of a small filled w overly creamy salty sauce is $32.
