I love this place. We eat here almost every time we get down to the coast. Good food and friendly service. Live music - Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (at least when we've been there) makes this a nice place to linger over a last drink after dinner. read more

We had a little bit of everything: oysters, friend mushrooms and zucchini, fish tacos, chicken fried stake, chicken, and EVERYTHING was sooo good. Our food was very good but the portions were really small, especially for the price. I got the Baja shrimp tacos which I really liked but I felt like I was still hungry after, and it was 11.99. We got dessert which was the chocolate eruption and was also delicious but 7.99 is a lot for dessert. My daughters kids meal was good size for a kid and she ate it all, so that was a bright spot. We have been going here on and off since we moved to the area last April. We have never been disappointed. However, we went last night for my husband's birthday. My father-in-law had admired a taco salad I had had there previously and it was delicious so we both decided to order that for our dinners. When it arrived and we began eating I noticed there were no beans in the salad...the one I had there previously did have beans. There was very little fajita chicken. When I mentioned to the waitress that our salads didn't have beans she was confused and said that she didn't think it came with beans. I explained to her that I had had a taco salad there previously that did have beans. She said she would have to ask. She returned to our table and said that I was correct...the salad was supposed to have beans. So the waitress didn't know and the cook didn't know what was supposed to be in the taco salad. Very disappointed. Will not be going back at least not anytime soon. read more

Their specials were good - Had loaded baked potato soup in a garlic bread bowl that was tasty, along with a Blackbeard's a la cartel taco with blackened fish, but was disappointed in the lack of flavor. The crab cakes were delicious! The special was beef quesadilla and it was very tasty! I loved the sauce drizzled over it. The soup was good and reminded me almost of a chili in flavor. The shrimp was fresh and we'll cooked. The dessert brownie with ice cream was really good, the brownie was soft and gooey. Overall great experience! read more

I don't know what happened to this place, but what a disappointment it's become. Both our shrimp plates were way over cooked, side salad was a small bowl of lettuce with some shredded carrots in the bottom. The tartar sauce is basically just a big glop of mayonnaise. We were looking for a good seafood restaurant near Aransas Pass (open after the hurricane). I ordered crab cakes and my husband ordered blackened fish and shrimp cocktail. They charged me an extra $2.99 for chipotle sauce for the crab cakes (they don't have remoulade sauce). My husband ordered a 1/2 lb of shrimp cocktail and they charged him for a 1 lb serving. They refunded the difference on the shrimp, but we ended up having to pay $3 for sauce!! It was way too expensive for what we got. The food was decent, but nothing worth writing home about. Went on Saturday for the All you can Eat Shrimp - and it was. They start out with a fairly decent size and go down in size for the next plate - which was fine by me. They were cooked perfectly and my sides were very tasty, double-steamed broccoli and fries. My friend had a bad experience at the Blackbeards in CC so we went to this one - my second time here...and I will be back! The music was good and not too loud, waitress was attentive. I've been a customer here for years. The food is usually very good and as long as you get one of the newer servers the service is great too. Sorry, but some of the servers who have been there for years seem to ignore the needs of their female customers. Prices here are also excellent, especially their lunch specials and happy hour margaritas. I say pass on Blackbeard's Too for better food somewhere else with a view of something better than a highway. We are so very disappointed in what this restaurant has become. The service was awful. The food was terrible. It took so long to deliver our food that I could have gone home, made a sandwich, eaten it and come back. My wife's food was cold and very chewy. My shrimp were cold and small. The new potatoes were dirty. I mean unwashed and very gritty. My daughter wanted a hot dog. it was not just grilled, it was burnt black. Neither my wife or I received a refill of our drinks. It was a bad experience. It did seem though that the tables of elderly groups were having a good time and getting a lot of attention. Maybe that is Blackbeard's too bread and butter. That is sad. I used to be a loyal customer. It had gone down hill since the owner passed. I guess that is the way things are. read more

It's been a little while, but the worst meal we ever had here was an 8 out of 10. They don't have the parking issues of the parent resteraunt, all the servers are quick and personable, and the bar pours with a slightly heavy hand. All the seafood is fresh, the burgers are large, even the gator ( difficult to do well ) was juicy and delicious. We didn't feel welcomed at this establishment. We weren't greeted when we arrived, but we noticed that people who came in after us were. It took them a while, before someone was sent to take our drink order. People arriving after us were getting their orders while we sat there and waited. Don't stop, keep on driving! I was at a nice boutique next door last evening and thought why not grab a bite. I had eaten there a year or so ago and it was good. Something has definitely changed. There was a large crowd of retirees, in the center table seemingly having a good time, but had yet to be served. I was greeted at the door and immediately seated, that was good. I had to ask for a straw for my drink. I ordered the fried shrimp dinner with baked potatoe and sauted veggies. Don't! The shrimp appeared to be something I could have done my self from frozen boxed at the store. The "baked potatoe" (loaded?) had been sitting in hot water for ever so long, you can tell from the color of the inside and texture, and, was still too firm. Sour creme served in a plastic squirt package and a hint of butter and chives. Avoid the veggies. The mushroom and broccili were not too bad, but the carrots! rubbery. I tried to bite into one and could not even bite through it, tried another and got the same results told the waitress and she asked if I would like something else, I asked if the shrimp were fresh and local, she did not know but would ask and came back to say fresh. Don't belive it. There was a gentlemen singing and playing but could not be heard over the noise of the crowd, a tv was going at the same time. Brought out of state friends in to eat. As a long time local, I was shocked at the whole experience. The rib eye could barely be cut with a steak knife,sandwich began to fall apart as soon as it was picked up. The shrimp on my tacos was cold.
