We just moved to Central Texas from California a couple months ago. I found Black Diamond online and the other positive reviews, so our expectations were high to begin with. Initially, we emailed and called about the epoxy floor and possibly some garage cabinets. Kenny was timely and informative throughout, fielding my multiple questions from out of state. We were able to schedule the epoxy floor installation for the week following our move-in to the house. It took about 4 days from beginning to end. His installers are polite and hard working, and most importantly: effective. We are very happy with the finished product, a beige earthtone with little flecks embedded into it. It is very easy now to clean the garage floor of dust, grass, and liquid. So far, we've only had to use a broom and wet paper towels; but we're sure a warm water mop will come in handy in the future. As for the cabinets, those are more detailed and required a lot more back-and-forth communication, which Kenny handled professionally and timely. We found a lot of choices at the Redline Garage Gear website, which helped our decision-making. From a hidden trash can cabinet, to a parts drawer, to a workbench top and included lighting, we are extremely happy with the finished product. The garage cabinets - and the wall-mounted "Handi-Wall" product - have made our garage a functional and attractive workspace. The cabinets and wall-mounts took about 3 days, if I recall correctly, and a nice touch: when they were done, Kenny called me out to the garage as he was helping to hang various items to give me an idea how to organize things. The only challenge throughout the whole process was a few day delay in the garage cabinet installation due to Black Diamond's busy season. Kenny, however, proactively called me to ensure that would be OK with us, and we agreed together on the next best possible date (only a few days later) so that quality would be maintained, which it certainly was. Kenny and Black Diamond provided us with a beautiful garage that is attractive and functional, and he communicated proactively with me throughout a 2.5 month process. This is the rare time I have felt compelled to write a negative review. But I am taking the time to submit this review because I had a truly terrible experience, and I want potential customers to be aware of the shoddy and unprofessional service they can expect from this company and its owner. We live in a new house in central Austin. We decided to outfit our garage in a manner consistent with the rest of the house, and Kenny and his company Black Diamond were highly recommended by others. We hired Black Diamond to install floor-to-ceiling cabinets, wall slats, and flooring in our garage, for a total price of approximately $15K. From the start, we had some questions about the quality of certain products, in particular the plastic wall slats - but we decided to move forward because Kenny insisted there is no better product on the market. As it turns out, Black Diamond only sells and/or markets one type of wall slat, and therefore we could not consider any other options with this company. During installation, our concerns continued to grow. Kenny and his crew made several installation errors that were alarming. Most notably, when they installed the wall slats, they did not install them in accordance with manufacturer specifications. We noticed and thought it odd that they only mounted the wall slats with half the screws that appeared necessary. When we asked Kenny about this, he was extremely defensive and argued it was better to use less screws and avoid screw holes. We then called the wall slat manufacturer, who unequivocally told us it is necessary to use double the number of screws to avoid product failure. Only after we presented Kenny with this evidence did he very reluctantly agree to use more screws (still arguing his position). We again raised questions about the overall quality of the product, and Kenny again insisted that it is the best product on the market. Only a few months later, we experienced a total and utter failure of the wall slat system that is supposedly the best in the market. As our seven-year-old reached into a large hanging basket to grab a ball, the wall slat broke into pieces. Obviously, we were upset to see this happen, and we immediately reached out to Kenny. When we did, we barely got two words out when Kenny began attacking us. When I asked Kenny whether this particular product could be flawed, and whether there could be any better product on the market, he would not even engage in the discussion. Instead, he accused us of doing something wrong, he claimed to know his wall slats were superior to every other product in the world, and he was just plain rude and arrogant for no reason whatsoever. Bottom line, I would highly recommend you avoid this company. From time to time, especially in construction (we have built and remodeled multiple homes), you will experience issues. The test of a quality vendor is not whether they ever experience hiccups (because they will at times), but rather how they deal with issues when they do arise. Black Diamond and Kenny flunked that test. If and when you raise questions, concerns, or problems, you will be met with a very defensive, rude, and unprofessional owner who has tunnel vision and closed ears about the singular products he has chosen to sell. read more

Very positive experience with Black Diamond Innovations at our home. Kenny G was very professional and he and his team have an incredible eye for detail which was important to us. His employee Logan was very courteous and kept us posted on progress and advised when he would be coming and going. Most importantly the floor turned out great, better than expected and now we regard the garage as another room in our home! We shopped around briefly but it was clear Kenny and his team would provide the most quality work especially for a home we expect to reside in for years. Kenny customized and remodeled our master bedroom closet which I still love to this day, he also installed epoxy flooring in our garage floor. Before consulting with Kenny we had consulted with another company (California closet) and their idea was mediocre nothing that convinced me. There idea consisted of just 2 drawers and a few shelves no where to put my collection of shoes. Nothing that covered or met our needs nevertheless our wants. After consulting with Kenny he blew us away with his ideas he not only had one he had several blueprints to show us how to redesign our closet. Our garage was creepy and cluttered -- basically how most garages look after you move in and dump everything under the sun into every available space you have. Kenny and his guys transformed this nightmare into a beautifully organized space with the highest quality materials. We've worked with many contractors over the years and I have to say, Kenny's company is by far one of the best we've ever worked with. Professional and courteous to the extreme, they didn't rest until our project was perfect - they even pointed out small imperfections (caused by rain & foggy weather) that we would have missed, and they fixed them!
