Sausage patty, rags, biscuits with sausage gravy.

The Black Bear Diner Sequim is exactly what you want it to be- fast friendly service, delicious breakfast food, reasonably priced, and a relaxed environment. There are so many breakfast options on the menu, it would be hard to not find something to try. We ordered the Cinnamon Roll French toast (very sweet and loads of cinnamon, I enjoyed it) and the biscuits and gravy(did not like the biscuits as they were more like a bread roll) with sausage Patties ( very good). Our coffee was always filled, and the service was excellent.

My kids love Black Bear Diner!

Having breakfast here last weekend with my family of 4 might possibly be the best experience I've had a Black Bear Diner EVER, and I've been to too many of them to count. It's also the most beautifully landscaped with lovely water features to look at if you're seated on the patio or by the window. I wish I could remember the waitress' name, sweet older lady, probably in her 50s--but she was SO nice and I really appreciated how accommodating she was about substitutions. She really went above and beyond. My 6 year old was jonesing for diced ham and scrambled eggs, which wasn't on the kids menu, but the waitress made it happen. Then when my daughter was wishing she had a biscuit like the one that my husband was too hungry to share, the kind waitress brought us an extra one on the house. Best experience ever, and the food was perfectly prepared.

While service was excellent food was terrible. I asked for hamburger "pink" and got a "hockey puck ". Fries were extremely salty. I ended up not eating the meal. In fairness the server did offer to ask the cook if they would redo but I opted not to as I had been waiting for a while. The server ended up taking the charges for the meal off my bill but really a big disappointment.

Awesome road trip lunch stop! Their Portion size is humongous! We loved the pot roast with onion rings, and their new item Chicken Caesar Melt. Definitely recommend this Black Bear Diner to travelers on their way to Olympic National Park.

I have been going to Black Bear Diner since it opened. Always loved their "The GRIZZ!" but I cannot eat that much anymore. Their pancakes are the best and my current favorite is the "Reuben" which they always have. Other local restaurants only serve it on Saint Partick's day and even then, BBD is the best. We have tried other Black Bear Diners, but they are not as good as Sequim's BBD!

Food:4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Value for Money: 5/5 A Pleasant Surprise at Black Bear DinerReview: My first visit to Black Bear Diner was unexpectedly delightful! The ambiance is pretty standard, but the food deserves a mention.I opted for the Chicken Avocado Club sandwich with sweet potato fries. Although I couldn't really taste the avocado, the sandwich was fresh, with crispy bacon that elevated its taste beyond just decent. My friend's Turkey Club was also a hit, bursting with flavor and fresh ingredients. The service added to the experience, with our waitress being incredibly sweet and attentive. The Chicken Strips we tried were just right, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. While we didn't explore the entire menu, I can confidently say that the club sandwiches are a solid choice. Black Bear Diner may not be a hidden gem, but it's certainly worth a visit for those looking for a satisfying meal with great service.

Shasta Veggie Scramble with hashbrowns and a biscuit
    Allyson D.

I love a good diner for breakfast foods. I love breakfast foods and don't need fancy - I just need it to be good. This was my kind of place. I ordered the Shasta Veggie Scramble and chose the hashbrowns with biscuit, plus a coffee. Mind you, this was a 2 o'clock lunch. Their scramble had avocado(!) and paired with good veggies. The hashbrowns though - yesss for the ribbons! The crunchy potato ribbons!!! Their homemade biscuit is also key for a wonderful meal. I honestly enjoyed this meal so much.. and I love this restaurant and want to go back to a Black Bear Diner when I go back home to California. haha. The food came out much slower than breakfast foods normally take to cook though. As a party of 5, we were wondering what was up. The server came back to fill our cups, but didn't advise why our food was taking a bit longer. P.S. this place also serves lunch/dinner foods.

Staff super friendly, sadly like everywhere else the prices have risen greatly over time. Hubby ordered the classic Eggs Benny w/ fries instead of hash browns w/coffee. I ordered Eggs Benny Country Style on a croissant instead of muffin. Each were a whopping $20.50! (For an old school cafe that's high.... if it was a fancier water view place or maybe a fresh crab or salmon Benny sure.) Mine came with their grated potato pancakes. I asked about the sausage gravy since it came with a mushroom sauce so she brought me a small side but realized later was charged 3.25. They advertise their bacon as premium thick sliced from Seattle butcher, hickory smoked weighing over 1/2lb for 4 slices (9.00) it was good but honestly looked and tasted like a standard good bacon. We were expecting something more like decadent crispy pork belly for the price and description. Hubby enjoyed his meal, but eggs Benny should have a soft yolk and both of ours were cooked past that. Our server was so sweet we didn't want to complain. Coffee $5 but was good blend and ended up buying a bag they offer at register for $12 from local roaster down the street. My meal was good.... but unsure about the mushroom sauce and I love them. It was like this underlying slight sour taste that kept me from really enjoying it. The potato pancakes were different from what I recall. I thought they were more like latkes with a crispy potato taste/texture but these are so finely grated that you can't even detect they are shredded potatoes. It was more like a super thin buckwheat flavor to me, unique but was good with the yummy applesauce & sour cream. I ordered a Bloody Mary $12.50 was flavorful didn't feel any alcohol but fine. We enjoyed our meal for the most part, couple of slight disappointments but the prices are so extreme I don't know how people can afford eating breakfast here. Our bill with tip came to $90!!!! That's just crazy. I saw on the menu the price for side items like $4.75 for ONE EGG??? $5.95 for TOAST??? Wowza, Sorry but it just takes the enjoyment out of dining. That's just being greedy to your loyal customers.

The aioli seemed like it was just mayo... and the bun was meh. So I ate everything in between the two buns and it was super yummy! I also uncharged and got fruit and they gave us yummy strawberry, blueberries and banana! Really enjoyed the fruit! Great meal! She made reservations and chose outdoors, not realizing it would be so cold, so I was freezing in my cotton dress. When I asked if they had any heaters, they kindly offered blankets so I took two and bundled myself up. For the amuse bouche, we got a radish with baba ghanoush and some sort of blackberry balsamic. For the first course, I got shishito peppers with baba ghanoush. The peppers weren't too spicy and paired well with the baba ghanoush. It's not something I would have probably sought out to eat myself so it was nice to have something different. For the main course, I got a shiitake, oyster mushroom rice noodle curry. This was surprisingly filling to the point that I had to waste some of the rice noodles. For dessert, I got a pear ginger blackberry fruit crisp. It was nice that you could taste that it wasn't made with a bunch of added sugar or anything. My friend got the other vegan dessert which was a coconut tapioca pudding, which I also tried, and was nice and light and tart, with some figs at the top. Service was great. Our server asked right off the bat about dietary restrictions so I told her vegan, no honey for myself. There was a very long gap between course 1 and course 2 which may have led to me getting full earlier than anticipated, and then the gap between the entree and dessert wasn't as vast. Our entire dinner took about two hours at Nourish, 7-9pm, which is longer than we expected, but the food was a pleasant experience. As a vegan, a little more protein was top of mind when reading the menu, but I love that they created good vegetable based dishes without any mock meats or excess sodium or processed ingredients. My friend also really enjoyed her food. Priced at $78 per person, it's a nice night out. We recommend.
