Use caution when ordering. The big steaked egg sign hanging outside must have just been sold out a few minutes before I ordered it. the server didn't know it wasn't available. I then ordered country fried steak. Turns out it was hamburger with bland country gravy. The place was virtually empty. My server kindly tried to make it up to me but at that point I was over it. Updating a review from a few years ago. Now I see why this place is rated so low. The food was awful! Really bland. Service was also bad. The lady wasn't rude, but she certainly wasn't friendly. And she was just not a very good server. Didn't check on us once. I had to flag her down every time we needed something: taking our orders, place settings (even though she brought out the soup and bread already), drinks, etc. The booth was comfy, and the noise level was fine. However, it was freezing cold inside. The table next to us asked our server about the temperature. She said she would turn the heater on, but she never did. They moved instead. This is the first bad experience I remember having here, but it seems to be going downhill. read more

Not great, we got there late into the morning rush on Father's Day. Seemed like they didn't have enough staff on hand to meet the high demand. Took too long to get our order in and too long to get our food. They messed up the order too. Missing items and bringing the wrong items. Then the food itself, while plentiful, was very much on par with Deny's quality. Prices aren't terrible but I'd rather spend a few extra bucks for better food quality and service. read more

Due to higher prices, we do not dine out much. So when we do, it's a treat. We got take out last night from Black Bear Diner and were disappointed. First, the menu is inconsistent between Yelp and their website. Understand that prices have increased due to minimum wage increases and inflations, but quality of service and food should not diminish. In fact it should be improved. The food tasted okay, but was cold and we had missing condiments, such as no tarter sauce with the fish and chips, no cocktail sauce for the fried shrimp, raw broccoli and carrots as a side dish. We will save our money and do not plan to dine here again. read more
