LOVED dining here...Everything's made to order -- even the brioche is from scratch (and so good). The food is all spicy, bold, unforgettable - I was blowing my nose that's for sure ;) I loved the Jani Burger and the Lahori, but the chicken sandwich really surprised me -- crispy, juicy, unreal. Still craving it honestly it was soo soo good and the seasoning was great. You also should def get a side of the masala fries - perfectly seasoned, and yes, of course spicy!
First time actually being in the food court downtown Brooklyn. A number of variety of foods to choose from and a great and pleasant atmosphere. So I decided on BK JANI, It didn't disappoint. The backyard burger was good and the fried chicken (spicy) sandwich as well. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you enjoy a burger and chicken sandwich.
Side note: Submitted to change the listing to Pakistani, burgers, and halal just like their other locations. Anyway, this is a Pakistani burger place with a few other locations with the original one being in Williamsburg and there also being a location in the similarly fancy The Hugh in Midtown East. They take American classics and add fun twists to them. If you're planning on getting a burger and want to spend a bit less and try their excellent masala fries, I would highly recommend going here during lunch. Otherwise, they have excellent lamb chops. Perfectly tender with a good amount of spice and some cucumber yogurt/raita on the side to tone down the heat. Same score as their other location at The Hugh but I prefer the other one in terms of both seating and ambiance.
Tried the ye burger and the grilled chicken sandwich. There were a few very subtle hints of exciting pakistani flavors in there but for the most part it was boring. I regretted choosing to eat here over the many other fun options at the food hall. Wasn't bad, I just expected to like it more.
We were in the DeKalb market hall and BK Jani caught our eye. We got the chicken sandwich with fries, and it tasted fantastic. The food is also halal, which is always a plus.
Almost every time I'm in Brooklyn, I hit up the food hall and eat the 808 burger. The food hall has amazing options, and great service all throughout. It's bright, well lit, and spacious. But, who am I kidding? The burger could be served out of the trunk of a car and I'd still eat it. It's spicy, cooked to perfection, and packed with umami. Very rarely do I get a burger that didn't require at least some customization: this is an exception. It's perfect. Just get two patties and not not one and you'll have no regrets.
I'd seen this burger on so many lists and was excited to finally try it this weekend. It was cooked perfectly (medium rare, though they do ask you your preference), and the combination of toppings was very unique. Not your average burger for sure! It has a little bit of a kick to it which I really enjoyed. I was also hoping to try the fried chicken sandwich since it also looked delicious, but unfortunately they were out of stock... guess I'll have to come back!
I ordered their lunch special, comes with burger, fries and a can of soda. Price is pretty good. Burger is juicy & very tasty, fries is crispy and got good flavored on it. I love the 808 Burger, with the sautéed jalapeno it got a good kick out of that not too spicy just enough for a good taste. Yes, I would definitely going back to try other burger too.

This is the second time I've tried this restaurant. The first time I was really impressed with the quality of the burger and sweet potato fries I ordered. This second time not so much. The cashier was wonderful and patient with taking my order. The wait was a little long for the burger but they're making everything fresh right in front of you. I ordered a medium well Ye Cheese burger with extra pickles, no tomato and a small order of sweet potato fries. After receiving my order I inspected it and everything looked fine but I took two bites of the burger and the middle was definitely underdone, way too pink for my liking. I went back and let the cashier know that, that isn't medium well she turned around and told the cook and he looked me right in my eyes and said that's medium well. Smh, medium well is right before well done so the burger should be slightly pink but still juicy. I know what a medium well burger looks like and it isn't that. Anyway, the cashier told the cook to redo the whole order to make it right and they did just that. The sweet potato fries have some type of dusting on it that compliment it well and they were crispy right out the fryer. The Yecheese was properly made the second go around. Pretty juicy and the spicy pickles are to die for, i added their homemade ketchup to it and chefs kiss. This restaurant is smaller like some of the other shops and has a laid back vibe. I want to point out that I didn't even this place was Halal until I looked up this page to give a review. There is no sign or indication at the store if it offers Halal options or not. Environment: Located at the Dekalb market, alongside different business. So depending on the day & Hour. it might be busy or not. Service: You order at the counter and wait for the food to come out, take it and go sit whenever you want. I have waited no more than 10 minutes. Food: I got the fried chicken sandwich with plain fries, and honestly it wasnt great as I definitely had better. It might be due to the Pakistani fusion style which gave some kind of unusual taste, something I wasnt aware of until eating the food and confirming it when reading this page. But I rather stick to traditional Pakistani food than having this burger again. The fries were great tho! read more

Believe the hype about the Jani burger and masala fries! People might groan over high prices for fast food, but you get quality for what you pay, my friends. First, the burger is super interesting. The spices (we got medium heat) are distributed all throughout the patty and not just in a sauce. And the meat is cooked to order, ours a perfect medium rare. The grilled tomato and mint chutney complement one another very well. Flavors are so unique that you really savor every bite. I am looking forward to tying other burgers to see how they compare. Next we had the fried chicken sandwich, and I would totally get this again. Again, there was a good amount of heat but not overly spicy. The seasoning in the breading is reminiscent of falafel-- but with chicken! I also liked the sauce that dressed the sandwich. For $12, I'd say the sandwich is competitive with other "best chicken sandwich" contenders. Finally, the masala fries are awesome. We've had this before and we'll get them over and over again. Oh, and their homemade ketchup is bomb! Overall, BK Jani has great flavors..... almost too much flavor? [gasp] That's not something I'd usually say, but I honestly think that the flavors are so powerful that the mains and sides are fighting for top billing. But that's a good problem to have. read more

Quite good. The fried chicken definitely has a peppery kick, especially with the added mayo sauce, but it's manageable even for folks who don't like spice. Definitely get the fries too! read more
I saw BK JANI popped up in several locations in NYC and saw that one was in downtown Brooklyn and figured I try it and did not expect it to be that good! I got The JANI Burger since that was their signature and masala fries! The staff was very nice and attentive to my order. I waited not quite long and got the burger and fries in a nice logo brown paper bag with the food placed in one of those nice container brown boxes. I opened it to see the nice nearly packed and organized JANI burger! It looked so cute with the sesame bun. It was not messy at all. I bit into the burger and could immediately taste the mint chutney sauce in the burger. Very unique and an acquired taste that I never had in any burger. The beef was very thick in cut and very juicy and tender. I had it cooked in medium to give that juice and tenderness. That's how all burgers should be cooked to taste that raw and aroma of the beef. Masala fries were a great hit too. Very nice seasoning that added that extra kick in my mouth! No wonder the burger is $18 and $4 for masala fries, which was worth the hype! The only little thing I wish was that they gave more fries! Thought it was a bit little. read more

There's a reason why it's one of the top burgers in NYC! This burger is 1/2 pound beef and super juicy. The masala fries remind you of true Pakistani style masala fries. The green chutney is pretty spicy but delicious with the burger. They're currently still open so do place a delivery order or add to your post-quarantine food spots! Wow. The hype around the Jani is real - it is so good and we got it as spicy as possible. It is a top three burger I've ever had. The fried chicken sandwich and the masala fries & ketchup were also delicious. The service was 10/10 and our order was ready in less ten minutes. This place was a pleasant surprise my first time at the dekalb market and BK jani definitely hit the spot. Their burgers are so delicious. The cashier was very friendly and detailed when explaining each burger definitely a big help. The burgers are packed with flavor and filling. There is plenty of seating down there no matter how packed it may look you'll always find a seat. Definitely coming back read more
I have waited years to try out their famous burger. I let the girl know just that and she was excited for me. Incredibly cooked beef, beautiful flavor marrying with the chutney they used on the burger. Deliciously tender but substantial bun choice. The reason for the 4 stars is that this was almost $20, from a food hall location of bk jaani and the burger was stone cold by the time my food was ready for me. Incredibly huge let down on it being cold. read more

I tried the Jani. The Jani is so good. Nice and juicy and the masala fries!! So fire ! Service is very friendly and the wait is about 15 minutes. The meal was around $20 and I save the other half for my next meal. The portions are generous. Will come back and try other things!! read more
I went to BK Jani at the recommendation of a fellow Yelper, Aiman Shahab! It truly did not disappoint. The restaurant is located inside of a food hall, so you might have to walk around a bit in order to find it. The dining experience is counter service, so you'll just grab your food and then find a place to sit down. The beauty of it being in a food hall means that you can grab drinks, appetizers, or dessert at a different place before or after eating here, which is what I did. The food was excellent. I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich, and it definitely wins the chicken sandwich wars. The flavors were a combination of classic American fried chicken and Pakistani spices. It was really delicious, and I didn't think it was too spicy. I also ordered the masala fries, and they were divine. The large size is really good for splitting with others or if you are getting something for the table. The service was good; we received the food within 10 minutes, so it doesn't take too long. The prices are a bit high, my sandwich was $15, but this seems typical for New York. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for good food and casual eating. read more
