No phone calls, no heads up. I took off work, took my son out school early, paid a babysitter to watch my other kids , drove 35 min to be told : we don't take this insurance anymore. Another lady was in the same situation and when she asked what is she supposed to do now, they laughed and told her that it is not their responsibility to tell patients they dropped their insurance. It might not be their "responsibility" but what happened to common courtesy? Especially long time patients like us. Then whose responsibility is it ??This is unacceptable. And we waited over an hour to be seen.

I continue to return annually for check-ups. They are clear regarding the pricing and don't do additional tests unless needed or requested. For instance they don't dilate your eyes if unneeded unless you request it. Side note: the online registration is convenient albeit long. The uploaded photos of your insurance card and license don't go through so they need to scan them when you arrive. Parking is available in spaces surrounding the building.

Everyone is so friendly and always ready to help. We both are currently seeing Dr May. He is awesome!! He shows he cares about his patients by listening and making sure he answers any questions in a way you will understand. He willingly explains everything that may be going on with your eyes and makes sure he follows up at your next visit. Even if there are no eye problems, he still shows care and friendliness while being professional. It is a pleasure to visit Johnston Optimetrics. After being told to pick out my eyeglass frames, I was then told to "hurry up" while I was still trying to make my selection. As a customer, I didn't feel I was given the time or courtesy to make an informed decision. One employee, Dani, labeled me as having an attitude, which I found to be unfair and unprofessional. I was simply trying to understand the process and communicate respectfully. Another employee, Shawn, spoke to me in a demanding tone, repeatedly telling me to hurry up after I had already spent a significant amount of time waiting on the staff. I also had to repeat at least four times that I was paying out of pocket, yet I was asked the same question over and over again. It gave me the impression that no one was listening to me. What disappointed me the most was that when I expressed my concerns, I felt dismissed rather than heard. Customer service should be respectful, patient, and professional, especially in a healthcare-related setting where people deserve to feel comfortable. I hope management reviews how customers are treated at this location and provides additional customer service training so others don't have a similar experience.

My exam by Ali Jaffry, OD was the most thorough and best explained examination that I've received since retiring from the US Navy as a 20-year Naval Flight Officer. He took the time to thoroughly explain everything that he checked, the condition of my eyes, and how my prescription had not changed much since my last eye exam in 2019. Selecting frames and lenses for two (2) sets of glasses was also an excellent process. The person helping me ensured that I understood what options were available and best for my eyes. The price of the first set of glasses was very low and the overall cost for both pairs was very resonable. I highly recommend the MyEyeDr in Garner, NC and will check my eyes annually in the future.
