Bagel with Cream Cheese & Lox
    Donna C.

I was craving a solid lox bagel and found this bagel place close by on 210. I was lucky getting there at 9:30 to have gotten a bagel at all. This place is hopping!!! I saw many people order ahead to make sure they got their bagels. So much so I ordered the last everything bagel, or so I thought. It was already called for by an online order. Garlic was what I ended on. Delicious! Scallion cream cheese and all the lox fixings. It hit the spot so well. Will come back!!

Very busy bagel shop but A hidden diamond in the rough. The line was out the door. I ordered a half dozen of bagels. 2 french toast, 2 cinnamon raisin and 2 everything bagel with honey walnut cheese spread. I had to wait 15 minutes for the cinnamon raisin bagels which are a hot commodity. There is no bagel shop close to us. The next closet Bagel shop is in Mandarin, bagels R us. I was not a fan. However, Bite a Bagel, I am a fan. This place hit the baseball right out of the park! Homerun!

This place is my go to for bagels. It gets REAL busy on the weekends, but worth the sit. Staff is also super friendly. They do have some tables, but I always get to go. Best bagels I've had in the area by far.

For some odd reason, I have never once visited this shop since I moved around this area in 2005 til this day. My manager was amazed and told me to try it this weekend. And so, I did. Lol. Came here with my sister and the shop was quite busy, but not hectic. Opened the door and smelled the great fresh coffee and bagels. Nice and cute decor and the staff were friendly. We ordered: - Everything bagel w/Lox Spread - 1/2 dozen bagels (blueberry, 2 asiagos, 2 wheats and a garlic) The lox spread was amazing and I love savory tastes. Based on their website, lox is raw sugar cured smoked salmon. This cream cheese spread was also mixed with capers, scallops and a hint of lemon. The family enjoyed the bagels as well. I recommend this place and would love to revisit again and try their hot bagel menu and coffee.

lox with veggie cream cheese on a sesame seed bagel

These bagels are extremely fluffy, doughy, starchy, and filling- just how I like them! My favorite is the sesame seed but the everything is a close runner up. They have an outstanding selection of cream cheese, I enjoy the scallion cream cheese or the veggie cream cheese as an upgrade to my usual lox bagel. Whenever I'm craving a New York style bagel, this is the first place that comes to mind. The bread is fresh and fluffy!

After reading negative reviews, we opted to try this nearby bagel place anyway. We read about long waits and bad service, so when a friendly cashier quickly got our order together, we were delighted. There was barely any wait on this late Saturday morning. There were also warnings on the wall that wait times may be long - so they do acknowledge it may be a part of your experience. The bagels and cream cheese were moderately priced and pretty delicious. I had an Asiago with jalapeño cream cheese, my husband had Asiago with bacon cheddar (yummy and smoky), and my daughter had chocolate chip. We all enjoyed are heavily cream cheesed creations. I got the flavored coffee which was like Jamaican coconut or something. It was really good. Not super strong but typical taste of flavored coffees. (Think Panera's hazelnut). Also the staff seemed chipper and busy. It was a casual vibe with a little outside seating. We will certainly be back!

Was in the area and stopped by for a quick bite. They offer online ordering and you can just pick up outside the front door to help with social distancing and if you are on a time crunch. I went inside an ordered as there was no line at the time. They have an impressive menu that offers breakfast and lunch sandwiches along with traditional bagels and spreads ranging Inna variety of flavors. The sign out front showed that they have seasonal flavors like pumpkin right now as well. I went basic and ordered a blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese & french toast bagel with walnut spread. Seating inside is labeled for customers dinning in only to help with social distancing. Once you place a to go order you have to wait outside with the online orders. There are social distancing markers on the floor when you come in to order. The staff is was friendly and helpful.

Bagels are better than some bagel bakeries, but being from Chicago, I am very critical. Good consistency to the dough.

Therefore, this gets a long wait for breakfast/brunch. It's hard to get a parking spot but there's free parking across the street. They have a big waiting area next to the restaurant which is definitely needed as we ended up waiting like 45 minutes around 9:30 am on a Saturday. The food was definitely worth the wait though. I got the burrito smothered with sauce and cheese and the flavor was fantastic. Flavorful but not super spicy or anything. It's also HUGE. Highly recommend. Service is a little questionable, if it was quicker they could probably help with their long wait. It was hard to flag down our girl when we needed something & it took ages to get to check.

The service showed a real lack of knowledge and attentiveness. When I ordered whole milk for my coffee, the response was essentially "is half and half okay?" -- no, it is absolutely not okay. These are completely different in taste and calories, and it's not a reasonable substitute to casually suggest. What made it worse: oat milk, almond milk, and whole milk were all visibly sitting in the fridge right there from where I was seated at the bar. Zero effort to offer what was clearly available. The atmosphere didn't help either. The space feels like someone started building a café concept and never finished thinking it through. It's uninviting, disorganized, and oddly off -- not warm, not designed with the customer in mind. Nothing about the food, the presentation, or the space gives you a reason to choose this place over anywhere else. Not particularly tasty, not nicely decorated, not a vibe. Not sure what keeps people coming back, honestly.

However, on our trip it was too cold to dine outside. We were seated at a large table inside that accommodated our large group. They had several tables inside, but I could see on a busy Sunday or Saturday morning this place would get waitlisted quickly. Everyone loved their meals. No complaints. I ordered the lobster roll. Here's a breakdown: Eggs benedict: 1/5 The restaurant did not have pork so we had to substitute for regular bacon instead. The whole dish including the potatoes was cold and the hollandaise sauce also was not fresh. Bahn mi: 2/5 As pork was not available, we had to substitute with shrimp which sadly was very bland and did not go well with the sandwich. The bread also was too toasted for my liking. While there wasn't anything outrageously bad about the bahn mi, I've definitely had much better. Shakshuka: 4/5 Great flavor and cooked very nicely. I would definitely get this again!!! Only critique is again the dish was cold. Coffee: 4/5 I really enjoyed the French press coffee including the options for non-dairy milk! However, it was on the weaker side and slightly sour tasting. We will for sure need another cup of caffeine later. Overall, I may come back to try one of the toasts; however, for the price there are definitely much better plentiful options in St. Augustine.
