Le Benny (partially eaten before I could get a better picture!)

Excellent food, drinks and atmosphere. Service is great and I appreciate how casual yet upscale this place. Brunch is worth the waiting until the weekend, get the Le Benny or Quiche Du Jour. I had the chicken gumbo last week too for dinner. It's delicious paired with their in house made focaccia bread. We look forward to seeing their summer menu.

This place in Stone Ridge is just minutes outside of Ohioville but still very close. Melinda was our server and she was extremely attentive. She came back to check on us several times. I got the biscuits and gravy, one of my favorites visiting new places, and I was not disappointed. My girlfriend got the crunchy French toast with strawberry rhubarb drizzle. Both of these items were delicious, new to the menu, and sure to become favorites. Honestly, all items I'm sure are incredible. Just to savor the memory, I bought a The Roost t- shirt. If you get the chance you must make this a stop on your travels!!!

The Roost: A Delicious Start to the Day…read more Breakfast at The Roost was exactly the kind of local find I love discovering while traveling. Fresh, homemade cooking, a warm rustic atmosphere, and a menu that gives you plenty of reasons to come back. I ordered the Oyster Po'Boy ($15) and substituted the side for the garden tomato soup. Absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried perfectly: crisp and flavorful without being oily or heavy. Marie knows what she's doing! The sandwich was packed with flavor, and that tomato soup was the perfect accompaniment. We also ordered the Two Eggs with home fries and breakfast greens ($7), along with a side of sautéed greens ($4). Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared. And, of course, breakfast had to be washed down with a delicious, refreshing iced coffee. The Roost's rustic, inviting decor adds to the experience, and I especially enjoyed the artwork displayed throughout the dining area. There's something really special about enjoying good food surrounded by local art. We were fortunate enough to snag a table on the screened porch, which took the experience to another level. It had that relaxed, almost alfresco feeling that made it easy to slow down and enjoy breakfast. The Roost is definitely worth a stop if you're looking for fresh, homemade food in a welcoming setting.

So one day on my lunch break, I decided to finally swing by and see what they're all about- especially since their whole thing is chocolate. The space inside is cozy with a nice cocoa aroma that almost wraps around you like a blanket. This isn't just a chocolate cafe- it's a nice little wonderland where cocoa is the soul, but not the whole story. Alongside their truffles, you'll find hot chocolate, brownies, pastries, etc- all Vegan. I was really looking forward to the chocolate truffles, but the chewy texture threw me off. I expected that smooth, melt-in-your-mouth center like the classic ones. And I get it- these folks are completely vegan- even so, I hoped for a similar consistency in these- veganized of course. And I couldn't leave without trying the hot chocolate. Theirs needed more cocoa oomph. Still, the service was solid and the staff was great.

Keep in mind, these are vegan. I normally don't do vegan. These were amazing. Spent 3 times as much on chocolates as coffee. No regrets. This is a paradise of sweets, little treats and coffee. What more could you need? Unfortunately no pictures. Didn't have enough brain power to pull out a phone while nibbling on delectable treats. So yea don't walk here. Run!!!
