I'm still working my way through the menu, but Alec's wrap is my current fave sandwich and the oat milk (vegan) soft serve is really good, but the black cherry vegan was spectacular. Very fast service and super friendly, nearly placed my order and it was ready in no time, even though it busy here, definitely no waiting. Now caramel crunch sundae, it was amazing, just perfect balance of heath bars crushed, caramel, hot fudge and pretzels with soft serve vanilla ice cream, plus love how they use tall cups rather then wide bowls, here so I did not have any dripping sundae on me. Definitely will come back to try other flavors of ice cream and maybe try their savory items. Go for something spectacular so that when you've driven 2 miles down the highway, you have a hankering to go right back and order another one. For me, that's Cherries moutwatering PEANUT BUTTER dream.... a black and white hot fudge sundae with gooey and tasty surprises in each spoonful. Now if you're a Starbucks kinda person who requires skim, lactose-free, oatmilk, wheatfed ice cream, Cherries may not be your kinda place. The good news, there's a farm just down the road where you can get a mouthful of all natural, unpasteurized, hypoallergenic barley oats, sauteed in natural cow fodder ... that will irrigate your colon faster than a Himalayan mudslide. I can't comment on the ice cream at Cherries but did just get a take out order of 2 double cheeseburgers and fries and would say they were pretty good. A little pricey since this order ate up almost $30 but it's hard to complain since they took the order while I was driving and had it ready when we got there. I will update this review after I try one of their shakes or ice creams. Very nice to have a small independent store of this nature and I'd gladly pay the much more than a chain. Stopped by here in the evening a couple days before Memorial Day weekend. The list of what they were out of was so extensive that it was easier for them to tell us the flavors they actually did have in stock. Unfortunately all the ones my fiancé and I were interested in trying were unavailable. We asked if they had just basic vanilla and the girl at the counter said she would check and came back to say they didn't have it in hard ice cream, only soft serve. So I ordered a scoop of pistachio and my fiancé got a school of mint chocolate chip. A few minutes later we overheard a woman order hard vanilla ice cream so I interjected and mentioned they were out of vanilla. The girl she was ordering from looked confused and said that no they definitely did have it. She asked the girl who waited on us about it and she just shrugged. The whole interaction was disappointing since both my fiancé and I ordered flavors we weren't all that interested in trying because we were told it was pretty much all they had. Overall the ice cream was decent. A little pricey for two single scoop cones (about $10). They did let me try a couple of samples before I ordered so I could determine which I liked best. There are a lot of other ice cream places in the area though so the next time we're vacationing in the area we will probably try out one of them. read more

This is a gem for ice cream lovers. Terrific people doing a terrific job. Jane's ice cream, including oat milk and gluten free varieties. Jane's is the best. Made locally in Kingston. Better (in my opinion) than Ben and Jerry's or Häagen-Dazs (made in the Bronx, by the way). Try a JJ's Bullseye. A scoop of hard ice cream on a scoop of soft. Put it in a cup so it doesn't dribble on your hands on a hot day. For an extra buck they put a gluten free cone on top and a cherry under it. Ask local people. Good ice cream is great. read more

Visited on the 2nd opening day after a major snowstorm in the area. The person at the window was so nice and friendly. Okay, I had the veggie burger, which was quite good. Next time, I'll add cheese and avocado, and switch out the gluten-free bun for a different one. It looks like they make their own veggie burger, as it doesn't look processed. The onion rings were nice and crunchy although I have to remember to get ranch dressing. The cookies and cream milkshake was creamy and just the right consistency to use a straw. May I add that I really like their takeout bag? Even though it's a bit of a drive for me, I plan to visit again when it's warmer and I can sit outside. read more

Not understanding the bad reviews at all! I mean yes, the place is ran mostly by teenagers but in my opinion that's impressive and as adults we should show some compassion! Honestly I had a 10/10 experience there, I went in hungry , and left happy and satiated! Sarah was the one who helped me, alternative appearance and still a ray of sunshine (not that someone's appearance should cause you to assume their disposition). I got a 2 scoop ice cream cup, lavender and apricot and WHEW! On a hot day it was exactly what I needed, not to mention that the cherry on top was free :) ! Cute and appreciated. For lunch I had the cherries classic hot dog I believe with onion sauce and their homemade cheese sauce HOLY CRAP IT WAS GOOD! A little messy, as any respectable hot dog should be truth be told. And then I got some curly fries , perfectly salty/crispy/fresh. It all came out to about $19 which is reasonable to me, the place gives off cute American diner vibes and they have a neat gift shop Nextdoor with merch and what seemed like kids items! So definitely family friendly, they even have free books out to read to your little ones. As I write this I'm looking at the menu getting ready to head there and grab dinner haha , enjoy! read more

They also gave me a watered down vanilla shake 20 min before I received my food and so wasn't able to enjoy my shake with my food. Insanely large portions which is two extra thumbs up for me. The medium is literally an 8 oz glass of ice cream. I do wish they had more fat-free or low-fat fro yo options, as they usually have only have one or two, usually a PB option and a black cherry/strawberry/ fruity option of the likes. I love Cherries! They have been outstanding through Covid, stepping up to support the community with free lunches for kids and keeping everyone safe with their protocols. It's a classic ice cream stand, and the treats are always delicious. But we also love it for quick to go meals on a weeknight or a special lunch after soccer practice. Online ordering is easy for less wait time and the staff is always friendly. Just as a head-up, there is no restroom, but I don't think any ice cream stand has one. read more

My husband and I decided to give the new cherries a chance today, and we were VERY disappointed. We placed an order online and when I arrived at cherries it was absolutely packed, which is great for a business, but they were completely unorganized that I had to go on a line behind people ordering. Once I got up to the window, instead of the cashier telling me it'll be a couple minutes before she can get to me, or acknowledging my existence, she shuts the window right in my face. I waited there with the window shut in my face for at least 7 minutes. That doesn't seem like long to some but I had already been waiting on line for 10 minutes to pick up my ONLINE order. When I got home and we unpacked our food we were not impressed for the money spent. I got the chicken Caesar wrap, and the chicken seemed like it was dried out after they took it out of the can. They was no Parmesan cheese and barely any dressing on my wrap at all. My husband also found long brown hair in his sandwich. Cherries used to be one of our go to places because we knew the quality of the food, and the owners treated the community like family. I felt like a burden to the city people and staff there today, and it's honestly so sad that I felt so unwelcome at a place in MY hometown. read more
