We were seated at one of the tables surrounding the large bar area, which had a nice atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive throughout the meal and did a good job taking care of us. We started with the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls, which were really good and definitely a great way to kick off the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the Nova Cravers, which are essentially three sliders served with fries. The sliders were decent, although I do wish the fries had been a little crispier. My wife enjoyed her Fried Chicken Cobb Salad, while our son was happy with his Chicken Parmesan and side of pasta. The highlight of the meal, though, may have been dessert. We finished with the Banana Beignets, which were absolutely delicious, especially with the yummy dipping sauce. All in all, we had a great experience. Between the beautiful setting, convenient parking, attentive service, and solid food, Refectory is definitely a place we would come back to.

Located in Bryn Mawr on Conestoga Rd, there is a private lot and street parking available. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. We were greeted by a friendly server before we even stepped inside. The host station is right inside and we were welcomed warmly once again. They offered us our choice of inside/outside seating. Being our first time there we wanted to see the interior. I mentioned this and they gave us a great table upstairs overlooking the restaurant. The store is decorated with a lot of Italian transportation...small cars and Vespas. I loved the high ceilings, and the upper level seating. They also have a huge TV on the wall, and decorated for the 2026 World Cup, despite Italy not qualifying! Our server, Alex, was very personable despite being busy with a large bday gathering and several other tables. He made us feel welcome as he went over the specials and took our orders. I got the chicken Parmesan which is my goto litmus test, while my date got the beet salad with grilled chicken. The food arrived promptly and looked and tasted delicious. My chicken parm was yummy, crispy chicken with melted cheese over delicious spaghetti! The beet salad was also well received. We saw several tables getting some delicious bread and asked for a basket. I thought it may be complimentary however it was 8$ a basket. They make it in house and drizzle it with olive oil. Served with some fresh rosemary and soft butter, it was delicious and well worth the price, just don't fill up on it! We were pressed for time so turned down their house made gelato, however we passed the gelato station on the way out and regretted this decision, it looked amazing! I mentioned to Alex that my entree was delicious but what set the restaurant apart was the service and atmosphere. It was warm, welcoming, and friendly. Some Italian places can be a bit on the cool/formal side so this was a nice change. Stop in and check it out, save some room for that bread and the gelato!

The service was very good: attentive and friendly. The ambiance is similar to Not Your Average Joe's in Ardmore with the upstairs/balcony seating and downstairs and big screen TV showing sports, but much noisier, especially as the upstairs also was filled with guests. By the time we left at 7:45pm after a 6:45pm reservation, it was loud enough that we had to fairly shout at each other to continue our conversation. The food was okay, except the salad which was excellent, but not worth returning for just the salad. - beet salad - 4.5/5, plentiful small diced red and yellow beets, avocado, arugula, a light dressing and burrato with crushed pistachios. a very solid starter salad and the server kindly split a large order into two small plates for us to share - fried calamari - 3/5, having just eaten at Estia last night which has a very good fried calamari, this one was not breaded as consistently and some of the pieces were a tad on the large side for a reasonable bite and too chewy to be cut with the fork or knife. - penne puttanesca - 3/5, my husband ordered this and while he not a self-proclaimed foodie, for him to say it was just okay means it was really just okay - linguine vongole - 3/5, points for the very plentiful offering of clams, i counted probably 20 generously sized clams (sometimes you get miniscule clams with this dish), but overall the sauce was too salty and there's not much you can do to fix that, and the linguine was a bit overcooked, definitely not even close to al dente We skipped dessert as by that point our ears were starting to ring with the high decibels coming from around us on the balcony and the floor below. It looked like a lot of people were having a good time so maybe it's just not for us.

The pork bao buns were fantastic, the fries topped with shredded pork and onions were absolutely delicious, and the chicken wings are meaty with a wonderful smoky flavor. I honestly don't think I've had a single thing here that wasn't tasty. And then there's the atmosphere! Such a cool, cozy vibe with retro American bar decor and an eclectic mix of music--sometimes alternative, sometimes jazz, sometimes reggae. When you first walk in the restaurant/bar area is dark; I selected patio seating and was glad that I did because it was much brighter on the patio - also, it is heated but I was still a little chilly but not uncomfortable. For a starter, we had the crab dip - this was good; it was cheesy and had good hints of crab meat; our entrees were Sautéed Salmon and Lamb Birria Ramen - the presentation of both dishes was good but the flavor was underwhelming for me (and my nephew) and even though I asked for my salmon to be cooked well, it was slightly undercooked... We did enjoy our drinks - he had a Millionaire Capri Sun and I had You Only Live Twice. If I return, it will only be for appetizers and drinks. The gravy is jaw-dropping and perfect with the texture of the biscuit -- trust me, you have to try it!!! The donut holes are fluffy and soft fritters. I also really loved the deviled eggs' flavor. For my entree, I got the breakfast pot pie (in the photo) which had the same incredible gravy and biscuit crust as the appetizer, topped with a crispy fried egg. My sister had the Challah French Toast (peach compote) which was also incredible -- perfect without being too sweet. Both were huge portions. Service was also excellent -- our waitress very kindly brought out our toddler nieces' kids' meals first along with our appetizers. She even brought out a little sorbet on the house for my sister's birthday (which also was very very good!)

And we all got alcoholic drinks, and many with desserts. The Smoked Old Fahioned was very not good. It smelled nice, but tasted like cherry cough syrup. It was like smoked cherry cordial with a splash of well-shelf bourbon. It's probably not literally well-shelf... just an emphasis on how unpalatable this was and therefore expensive for what it is. I didnt pay $15+ for some cherry cordial. Waitress vocalized distaste when we wanted to spit checks - which we told her before placing orders. Then she gave sh** about seating arrangements; since we wanted to split checks she ordered us to sit by how checks are being split. That's a new one... She said she would have to write separate checks... an obvuous approach... I endorse that plan smh. Wouldn't that be easier when it comes to "splitting checks" when all is said and done? To treat us as separate tables but still tack on 20% per check? As we are wrapping up dinner and everyone else was looking over dessert, I told her she could bring mine now since I have a 45 min drive back to CC and I have perishables. People are now eating their dessert and she's still fussing aroundat her kiosk. I eventually approach her and asked for mine again. She got super frustrated and unprofessional, and said us wanting to split bills is (exact words) "tumultuous." Does she even know what that word means? "I thought you wrote separate checks?" But she's trying to figure out how to split like $8 rolls among like 12 people. She was like, "Then who is paying for the rolls?" That is her job to find out. I am a guest, not the host of the party. I only know three other people there. She walks to the table and says (again..exact words), "Who's paying for the rolls?" As if we are planning on dining and dashing with basic dinner rolls. Why? Because we are a table of minorities? Had we been a table of all white, would she have asked HOW we would like to have it split? I was in the dine-in food service industry for several years. I had thought splitting checks was a very common practice, and I absolutely did NOT ask patrons to sit in specific order. White Dog in UC didn't do that either (or anywhere else). Perhaps White Castle is more within her playing field. Some courses in sensitivity training may aid in her professional development. And they wanted to charge like $4 per person since someone baked cupcakes.... reminder that most people also ordered dessert on top of all this. They can go pound the sand.

This Estia is located in David, Pa. There is plenty of parking near and around the restaurant. We had a reservation for 4pm and were seated right away. The table was nicely prepared for all of us, with plenty of space for everyone. They have a lot of their seafood on display and if you like, you can pick which one you'd like them to prepare for you. They actually bring it out for a little show while it being prepared (see picture). I haven't one bad thing to say about this restaurant. A good time was had by all! Oh! One thing that was very impressive......twice (during the evening) silverware had fallen to the floor. A waiter would rush over to bring a clean set right away. Wow! Never saw that done with such fast precision!!!! I decided on the Lamb Chops. It comes with fried potatoes, tzatziki and I got a side of grilled vegetables. Service was attentive although funny in that our server would ask us how our next dish was immediately after it had been placed in front of us and before we had a bite. It happened three times! So maybe not quite as attentive come to think of it. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu (sharing the appetizers) which is a good deal, and I don't remember so many items involving an upcharge so that's new to me. - fried calamari - 4/5, very good, nice aioli dipping sauce, breading was consistent and not too heavy, light tasting and delicious - greek salad - 4/5, I usually love this and it was still delicious and fresh but I noticed that 1) they've changed the name so it's no longer called horiatiki, and 2) we had a very small piece of feta with the salad whereas in the past the ratio of feta to the tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, cucumbers has been more even. And now there's a $6 supplement charge for this appetizer which seems like A LOT for a salad. Next time I might skip this because of the upcharge - lavraki - 5/5, this light white fish is just the right amount of flavor and portion and my go to choice when I go to Estia. Also a $6 upcharge but this seemed more worth it - baklava - 5*/5, also a $2 upcharge but worth it as these four pieces of cylindrical baklava, while a little difficult to eat (use your hand? try to cut a cylinder with a fork?) it is an excellent baklava We went at 5pm before it got too busy and were seated away from the bar so we were able to have a quiet conversation but as the restaurant filled it definitely got noisier and I would not want to be seated near the bar. They do have a lovely outdoor area at the front and side of the restaurant so we could have sat outside since last night was quite mild in weather. One downside of the prix fixe is no zucchini and eggplant chips which are my favorite, and I didn't want to order that on top of the appetizer, entree, and dessert. Next time!
