We came here for Easter lunch. The restaurant was pretty quiet and the servers were very attentive. I'm vegan and it was a thrill to have a) have vegan options and b) those vegan items clearly marked on the menu. The food was really great. We all enjoyed the entire experience and would definitely go back. read more

Great atmosphere, fun bar and there is usually something going on from specials to live music. I will admit that it is a bit pricey, but their sandwiches are great and on the cheaper side. Also, groupon or living social seems to always have deals for here. Great outdoor space, awesome place to come in the summer, but i believe they've even covered an outdoor space to use during the winter. read more

My son (who is a CIA graduate) and I dined here recently. The food was top notch! The presentation was beautiful, the food was delicious and the service was spot on. The prices were reasonable as well. I would stay away from the Flights of local reds...as a red wine drinker, I was not impressed with what was in the flight; however, the overall wine list was extensive. I loved the live piano music and the fireplace. We have some favs already and look forward to making this a "regular" for us. read more

My boyfriend and I have been there 2 times for afternoon apps and drinks. Friendly bartender and good wine menu. We wanted Oven pizza and Bistro's 72 web site had a large variety of pizzas. I called before we went and asked if we can order pizza and sit at their outside dining. The person who answered said Yes.When we arrived the Host's, didn't acknowledge us for some time, when finally being seated, didn't even have a smile or say "Enjoy". The best part is when we asked our waitress" we don't see your pizza menu". She replied "we haven't served pizza for over 3 months!!!" My boyfriend ordered their Bistro 72 salad. It was wilted, look like it just came out of a bag from the ones you buy in the supermarket. I ordered a swiss cheese burger and that was very good. Very pricey would only go for a dink and the entertainment outside. read more

Have been to this restaurant many times and went again last night. The atmosphere of this restaurant and hotel is terrific. And in past experiences the food has been tasty with good sized portions at a reasonable rate. I have never had good service there, but when the food is so good I'm willing to be a little flexible with the service. However, last night it was as if I was somewhere else. I was shocked at how bad the food was. I ordered the margarita pizza. It looked like they pulled out a frozen boxed pizza, put some halved cherry tomatoes on it and I guess they thought that looked appetizing. I had to ask about the basil that the menu said this pizza had on it. The server explained they didn't have any. Nothing was offered as a replacement and I wasn't told before it came out so I could make another choice. Maybe because of COVID, prices have gone up, menu selection is poor, service was as bad as usual and the quality of the food was simply awful. I'm only rating it a 2 because the atmosphere was was still nice. read more

First visit here and I'm hooked. Staff was very professional & very friendly. I can't say enough about the food and service. I'm always wary of restaurants attached to a hotel but you'd never know it. The food was not only tops upon presentation, it was plentiful and flavorful. Our waitress Alexandra really made the night special. Dinner was paced at a good tempo. Not too long apart and definitely not rushed. It's priced higher than other area chain restaurants but this place is definitely worth the trip. read more

On our way to visit a winery, our family visited Bistro 72 for breakfast. I had made a reservation, and as soon as we arrived we were seated at a table set for our party. We arrived a bit after the breakfast time, but the manager was kind enough to have the kitchen prepare food for us from the breakfast menu. The drinks were great and the food was delicious. Our server, Mary, was attentive and friendly. We will definitely visit again when we are headed out to the east end. Highly recommended. read more

Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing atmosphere. It was snowing and the outdoor fireplace was lit. What a great way to spend a winter night. The General Manager Kristen introduced herself, made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel at home. A true 5 star experience! We can't wait to go back again! read more

Everything was just perfect. Quality fresh meals, large portions, the service was simply the best, super friendly staff, very clean, would highly recommend the Bistro72. Bistro salad was so fresh with walnuts & cheese, soup was a homemade corn chowder just delicious. Me & my mother-in-law had the steak it was tender, cooked perfect, home made delicious mashed potatoes & a mix of super fresh vegetables. My wife had the seafood rigatoni and it was a huge bowl full of scallops and shrimp with a delicious sauce. Dessert was Banana Crème Brûlée with ice cream and it was delicious. Everything was beyond our expectations and we will be sure to dine there more often after our perfect 5 star experience. read more

Had the best 21 dollar sisco burger I've ever had here...lol just kidding.... Nice wait staff but literally a frozen institutional burger w a not so fresh bunn and some fries, from sisco as well, for sure.. definitely a bad call tonight. read more

Awesome!!! Not only is the food really good the service is excellent. I've been several times and can recommend the duck, lobster roll, cheese plate, burger and North Fork Cioppino. Really everything on the menu Wild rice that is really wild; not some fake stuff. Everyone that I've taken has gone back. Though not advertised, if you need glutten free food, they will accomodate you. The managers are first rate, even the busboy is helpful. I've run into people that I've meet at the wineries and recommended the Bristo 72 to and they all rave about it. No, I don't have any relatives or friends working there, I just appreciate great food and good service. read more

The first thing that Bistro 72 needs to do is decide what it really wants to be. If they are attempting to be a fine dining establishment, then they need to improve on the service, wait time, and most especially the "entertainment". My husband and I went there for dinner and were debating whether or not the NOISE, that was supposed to be music, would disrupt dinner too much. We are accustomed to listening to light jazz during dinner, if I wanted Rockabilly acoustic guitar I would have gone to a club. The music was too loud, too unsophisticated for what the Bistro 72 is representing itself as. We could not have dinner conversation during the meal. However, the meal was decent, it just took way too long for the service. For the price, I certainly expect better service, less of a wait when you have reservations, and music that enhances the dining experience rather than detracts from it. We will probably not go there again unless they change things up. If you're looking for a sports bar, this will do just fine. read more

Bland and boring. The calamari is indeed chewy and cold. Cesar salad with sundries tomatoes and bottled dressing. Wimpy bread. Bottled clam juice over the lingouine and 5 really bad clams with chopped pancetta. Holiday inn atmosphere served up by nice but untrained staff. Too bad read more

Had a Groupon and went for lunch. Had Cheese Platter for app, Angus cheeseburger and french dip panini for meal. Meals were average. Drank water. came to $55. If I didn't have Groupon I would have not spent that much out of pocket. Expensive. Average food. Would not go to lunch there again. Perhaps Dinner is better?? but much more expensive. read more

Just had an amazing meal at Bistro 72! Great service and a warm, cozy atmosphere. The food was really impressive.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel Indigo on the living social deal and had a voucher towards dinner at Bistro 72 (because otherwise, this place is OVERPRICED). The restaurant is very nice looking, although the bar seems to dominate the layout and the dining tables are sort of pushed to the sides. In full disclosure, we did eat here on a weeknight, so they may have not had their best employees on hand. I had a steak and my wife had a lamb shank. Considering the entrees were priced in the $30 + range, I expected much better, The food was only OK for the money. In the end, we still feel like we just ate at a hotel restaurant and not what we expected. Our waitress was nice but seemed really inexperienced and unprofessional. The saving grace for Bistro 72 was their breakfast. We ate outside on the patio and had eggs benedict with lox, it was delicious and the service was great! If you go here with a Living Social voucher, I recommend using it on breakfast and going out to dinner elsewhere. read more

This week is restaurant week and they specified on line that it runs all day and night on Friday. So we booked our reservations at the beginning of the week for our father birthday dinner. The restaurant is an hour away from us and made the reservations with them because of restaurant week. We got a call today from the owner letting us know that they have changed the time for restaurant week and they are only running it until 7pm. Well our reservations are for 7:15pm. She advised sorry nothing they can do this is how it is and hope we can still make it. Dad's birthday, 1 hour away and it's too late to make reservations elsewhere but too far to get there before 7pm. Really disappointed because this is more money than the family anticipated. Find this to be rude and not business like. read more

Excellent service. My wife and I flew up from Baltimore for our 19th anniversary and stayed at the Indigo Hotel. Wandered out when we heard music and found this gem. Sat by a sweet fire and listened to a great Trio band that was the perfect volume. Wait staff was phenom. Attentive and just the right amount of attention. The food was great and extra pita chips for our appetizer arrived without delay. Totally unexpected but very satisfied. Check it out read more

We went for the Santa brunch and although the menu sounded very good the food was not. My husband got the biscuits and gravy with "sage scented sausage" the gravy was yellow, didn't have any pepper in it and I couldn't taste any sage in the sausage. I had pancakes which tasted average at best and disintegrated as soon as I tried to eat them. The pancakes were also supposed to come with fresh berries and whipped cream but all I got was an orange slice and one sliced strawberry. Santa seemed very nice, you had the opportunity to take your own picture of your kids with him. All in all very disappointing for the price. read more

Pretzel appetizer was soft and yummy. Calamari was delicious. Our waitress, Kim was very attentive and did a good job with a large table with multiple checks. Would definitely come back again. Looking forward to eating outside. read more

I have had dinner here several times before but this time it was off...Saturday night at 7 pm..the place was empty..they had a piano player/ singer. She was a terrible singer and too loud...very annoying...i ordered a petit filet mignon..medium rare. It was served medium and was dry with no taste..my date had firecracker shrimp. They were over done and chewy...It was expensive and not worth it. I will not be returning. read more

Stayed at Indigo to enjoy jazz on the vine on the North Fork. Rooms were decorated simply but very new and well maintained. The restaurant was not so great and with so many options downtown Riverhead I probably wouldn't dine here again. The bartender, when he finally acknowledged us, has a major attitude and filled my wife's cosmo about 3/4 of the way. He never offered us another drink nor cleaned up the bar from previous customers. Dinner service was really slow and took 1 hour from the time we were seated to receiving our 1st course. Our appetizer "local vegetable pizza" should have been described as bean pizza as it had more beans then any vegetable. Entrees were just okay. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy and would not recommend. read more

I went to Bistro 72 on a Saturday night through a recommendation of a friend. Not only was the food unbelievable the service was excellent as well. I was with my 2 young children (5 & 2) and anyone that has dined with children before know's they can be a handful. The waitress ( Aiesha) was great with the kids and extremely attentive. If you dine here the scallops are a MUST! They are made perfectly, and with the wine pairing Aiesha recommend my usual stressful dinning experience with kids turned out to be a relaxing enjoyable evening! Food excellent , service excellent , ambiance excellent a must try! read more

5 stars for food and service at Bistro 72. For an appetizer we ordered the dragon chicken with wasabi dipping sauce. All I have to say is WOW. The chicken and sauce were on point. We also got the Bistro 72 salad that was full of flavor and very nice to eat. The greens were covered in a light creamy dressing and it had the perfect amount of sweet and salty add ins. The pork chop and mashed potatoes were the main entree. The pork chop was huge and cooked perfectly. I only wished it was a bit more flavorful or that it came with applesauce. The mashed potatoes were fantastic and seemingly mashed with some sort of cheese. I wanted to make special note of the service. We had ordered a bottle of red and were displeased with our selection after trying. Within seconds, the manager came to offer us the menu to choose an alternative. We ended up with a wine that we absolutely loved. Thanks Bistro 72! read more

This a restaurant that stays as close to farm fresh as possible using many of the ingredients from local farms. It is an upscale place located in the Hotel Indigo East End. I had an an Italian seafood dish cioppino the first night it was good but not as infused with flavor as I would have like but still I like it. Local seafood clams, mussels, white fish and shrimp. Nicely presented. Next night Baked haddock over shaved asparagus that was perfect! I am a solo dinner and sat at the bar where many singles also enjoyed dinner. The bartender was attentive and fun and introduced me to some wines from the local region. The next night was a busy night and I ordered a steak it was woefully overdone no pink center at all. I was disappointed to say the least. I ordered a flight from their wine tasting menu and took it outside to the fireplace, nice ambiance, live music and another log on the fire. Bad steak now an unpleasant memory. The breakfast I find just ho hum that morning they had no bacon. So I ordered the crab cake. Nice not great. The coffee was fresh and kept coming though. I understand that they have a new chef and the menu has changed. I like the hotel and feel welcome here which why I will keep coming back. read more

Came here on a Groupon on a week night. No one was dining there at the time, just one soul seated at the bar. Decor seems classy but too many tv's. Keep it behind the bar. My wife and I unfortunately found this place overpriced and underwhelming. We split the fried calamari appetizer, which was good, and the lamb sliders as well, which was also good except for the piece of plastic my wife found in her sandwich! Our server was good enough to offer us coffee and dessert to make up for it. We had the apple cobbler with cinnamon ice cream, which I really enjoyed. We also split the duck entree which was bland and did not render in its fat. The risotto and even the carrot served with it was poorly done as well sadly. It's a shame. I wanted to like this place, but the disappointing food quality does not justify the price for returning to eat here. read more

I stopped in for a quick drink to get away from the traffic of the holiday weekend...and couldn't be happier that I did! The bartender was friendly and knowledgable and the drinks were delicious. We had the opportunity to go to bistro 72 several times over the weekend when we stayed at Hotel Indigo- once for dinner, once for drinks and twice for breakfast. Dinner was very good- I got the BBQ chicken and my boyfriend got a burger. While it was very good, it quite expensive for what we got, and not exactly as advertised (menu said it came with corn on the cob, but that corn was very much off the cob-unless I just misunderstood!). I also ordered a cocktail that I just could not get down, though I certainly tried. It had Rosemary syrup and a sprig of rosemary in it and it was just sooo overpowering. It kind of tasted like you were licking a pine tree. It also doesnt help that the scent of shampoo in the hotel is Rosemary- so it really tasted like I was drinking shampoo. I asked to see the cocktail menu again, and they took the hint that I didn't like the drink and didn't charge me for it, which I very much appreciated. Second cocktail was delicious. Breakfast was very good and filling- the 3 eggs omelette was huge! Only thing is that they put fresh fruit directly on the plate, and I am actually allergic to certain berries, so I had to be careful to not eat any of my food that may have touched the strawberries. It was nice to have included fruit with the omelette, but as this wasn't listed on the menu, I didn't think to inform my server of the allergy. Serving it in a separate dish would solve any issues. The second day we got breakfast, we each got the "continental breakfast". Yogurt was actually Greek yogurt. Maybe I'm just picky but it seemed there were a few menu differences throughout our weekend. Stephen was a very good breakfast waiter and we appreciated his attentiveness. Ayesha was also very friendly and kind. read more

This restaurant is a secret, hidden in a beautiful hotel. Wonderful dining atmosphere, eat inside or outside by the pool. Enjoy live music on weekends. The menu is extraordinary. Most meals are prepared with locally grown produce. I can recommend the salmon, prepared just right. Desserts are to die for. My choice, banana brulee. The service was excellent. Kristen was attentive and polite. A truly wonderful dining experience. read more

My husband and I have had dinner here numerous times. Whenever we make it out to the north fork, which is about 5 times a year, we stay at Hotel Indigo and eat at Bistro 72. It is one of our favorites. We love how some of the menu changes based on the season. Most of the dishes are made with locally grown food and the menu gives a description, which is awesome. The waitstaff has always been polite, friendly and knowledgable. We enjoy having the option of eating outside in the warmer weather. Our food has always been delicious! My husband always orders a steak and the cook has been perfect each time. I usually order a seafood item and it's always so good!! They offer wine and beer flights from local wineries/breweries. The desserts are also a must! We've caught live music in the bar area a few times and it added to the upscale ambiance of the restaurant. We highly recommend this restaurant! read more
