I will NEVER come back. On the website, it says that you allow dogs and then when we got there, they refused us and three other families away. The owner wasn't even there and the manager on duty just kept saying that's the way it is and too bad. "Read the sign on the door". The manager admitted that this has been happening all summer and they are not doing anything about it. Not contacting Google or yelp to change the statement. Just allowing people to drive all the way out there only to be turned away. We drove from Long Beach Ny and we couldn't even sit outside. I visited this establishment on a LIRR tour. I was surprised by the amount of cider you receive to taste. The flavors were so good. The black cherry was my favorite. We came to Riverhead Cider House on the suggestion of a friend. When we arrived there were two families waiting outside and taking photos with the antique car. Once inside we were delighted to see how spacious the room and how large the bar was. We were greeted by a bartender who expertly helped us make our flight selection, and explained how to order food. We order a large pretzel and sat at one of the many tables that are built from old wine barrels. The only disappointment was that the experience does not offer wait service and I had to obtain the pretzel myself and then clean up. However, all in all it was a terrific visit. read more

A nice place to kill a few hours, soaking in the fall vibes! We walked in about 2 hours before closing and it was still, surprisingly, packed. I ordered a cinnamon apple cider with the sugar rim and it was quite tasty. My friend ordered the black cherry and noted that it did taste like actual cherries which is a plus. If neither of these are your jam, there are plenty of other ciders to choose from! Inside is definitely spacious, plenty of woodwork and decorations all around. There's an outdoor seating area with games to play as well. We did order a few menu items to eat as well. The cider donuts were the standout. A bit crisp with a tender interior and plenty of sugar coating throughout. The pizza and the giant pretzel were a let down, but I'm assuming if you're coming here, you're not here for the food. GREAT cider, fabulous flavors, and this time, we had the pleasure of sipping our cider flavors to the cover tunes of Billy Joel, played by someone who knew their way around a piano keyboard. We stumbled upon this place by accident, and am so glad we did. We were actually in the area looking for a winery with indoor space where we could spend a few hours on a super hot day, and happened to drive by Riverhead Cider House and caught sight of the giant apple statue outside. We were one of the first people here around 11:30am on a Saturday, but the place quickly filled up. The interior space is huge yet still very comfortable and cozy thanks to the rustic decor. Tables were spaced comfortably apart, so it never felt too crowded. Upon entering, you place your drink order at the bar, then seat yourself. There is also a cafeteria-like food area where you can order small bites like soft pretzels and flatbreads. We shared the cider flight (4 ciders) and the chicken bruschetta flatbread. The ciders were absolutely delicious and had a nice variety of flavors and sweetness levels. The flatbread, however, was a disappointment; bland and uninspired. I'd recommend sticking to the pretzels or a bag of chips if you're looking for something to nosh on with your ciders. 32-oz growlers are also for sale if you want to take some cider home with you. Note that also have 32-oz cans (also freshly poured and sealed) for sale which are less expensive. We took 2 home and are looking forward to enjoying them soon! read more

Beware of the long lines! Get there early and be prepared to wait outside. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful time. The cider was DELICIOUS and the pizzas were good too. We arrived at 12pm on a Sunday afternoon. The line was down the parking lot, but there were plenty of open spaces for parking. The line ended up taking a full hour so I'd recommend comfy shoes!! When we were taken in, the indoor area was bustling. It was packed inside- yes people are sitting at their own tables which were probably distanced 6ft exactly, however I wouldn't have felt comfortable being inside. Whether you sit inside or outside, you must go inside to order food and drinks, so many people are standing (with masks). I definitely found it strange that no one explained/told us that there is no table service or how to order. You have to go inside and order FOOD FIRST, then drinks. The outdoor area was pretty nice, BUT they had a huge fly problem. I don't know if this is consistent throughout the season but flies swarmed every single inch of the outdoor patio. We were swatting them away and guarding our food the entire time. There were only a few bees. There are a considerable amount of tables that need to be replaced. That being said, we still did have a great time because of how delicious the drinks were. For some reason, at first glance I thought the food wouldn't be good. The pizzas are surprisingly great. Don't let the boxes and small sizes fool you. It is the perfect personal pizza, or sharable for 2. They are definitely pricy, most of them being about $16. Riverhead Ciderhouse is a great stop. The cidery is large and open with a comfortable and fun vibe with a friendly staff. There are even some games around to keep you entertained. To be honest I am not a cider fan, even as a child I never liked apple juice. While I was skeptical, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed my tastings at Ciderhouse. They offer 4 generous tastings for $12; I asked the guy behind the bar to steer me more towards those that are on the dryer, tart side and his recos were on point. Benjamin's Best was light and crisp and wonderful. What's Hoppening was just lovely; the name scared me as I am not a fan of over the top hoppy beers, but this was just right and well balanced. The Blackberry Habenero, was such a surprise, a lightly sweet/tart flavor with a hint of heat that hits your throat; really good. The Honey Crisp Bolt was on the sweeter side vs. the others I tried so probably my least favorite of the flight. We also grabbed a hot pretzel for the group which was delicious (albeit pricey) and came with 2 types of mustard and a cheese sauce. We have previously been to Riverhead Cider House a few times with my ESA/Therapy certified dog. We came in tonight with only 1/2 hour before close and after ordering our beer, was told by the manager that we had to leave because "pets" weren't allowed. I explained he was a certified and registered ESA as well as a certified therapy dog, who was also in his service vest. He was laying next to us at the table and then did stand when patrons asked if they could say hello to him. The manager then came back again and said we had to "take the dog out of the brewery immediately" Since we had just started our beer, we asked for a refund which he gave to us as long as we took the dog outside. I have never been to any brewery/winery on Long Island where we were treated with such disdain. The guests were horrified at the actions of this evenings manager. Our dog, Gavon, has been welcomed at all businesses across Long Island and the rudeness of this establishment should be ashamed. I have hosted employee outings at Riverhead Cider House but I will never return nor will I recommend anyone with a pet, a service animal, an ESA or a Certified Therapy animal to spend their money where a member of their family isn't welcome. This place is always packed. I came once with my sister during the Fall season. All I wanted was some hard cider and cider donuts, ya'll!! It was crazy in there! Packed! Only more people were coming via coach buses. It was crazy. Never seen anything like that before. We got in, and there was barely any place to stand at the bar. It was tricky to find space to stand elsewhere. I should come earlier one day to fully enjoy it here. Scenic, spacious and delicious. The Cider House is the perfect place to spend a couple of hours on Saturday listening to music and watching the world go by..while sipping crisp cider, of course. The pretzels and tableside guac are definitely worth the price! I love that you can get local brews in addition to the various ciders here. The only con is that I tried to book a reservation for a stop during our limo tour last weekend and they only allow limos from 11am-2pm I was told.
