I've been here several times over the years. Bishop's is usually a solid good dinner. Sometimes better than others. I heard someone say they had changed owners several times over the years so that explains it. I came in for a birthday dinner with my friends. We sat by the bar (first time) in a high top square table which was perfect because we could be close and talk as loud as we wanted. Bishop's post is a classy place, in the summer their patio is so enjoyable with live music on weekends. We ordered the Chilean sea bass with risotto and asparagus. We asked to share two dinners between 4 people and they were nice enough to place them individually in each plate. It was delicious!!!! We also brought our own cake and they were also nice enough to let us bring it to the table and provide us with to go containers at the end for the leftover cake. We also ordered a round of margaritas which were really good. Towards the end we met the owner and he was so nice! I love it when owners interact with the customers. The decor and ambience is very nice. I had the seafood gumbo and it had a chili ring to it, but it was good. I also had the French dip and it was good. The ambiance of this restaurant was very date night appropriate. It was fancy, clean, and sophisticated. The service was excellent! I am very respectful to service workers, yet often encounter bad customer service in STL... NOT HERE. They were very attentive and helpful, very nice first impression. It was my birthday and they welcomed me with a welcome card and multiple people wished me a happy birthday. They even gave me a free dessert. The food was just delightful. The wings pictured were $18 and off the bat I was already thinking they were not going to be worth the price. I was wrong! The wings were crispy, fresh, and plump. Very worth the money. The penne pasta was delicious, I had never tried a Bolognese sauce before and it did not disappoint. This pasta had steak medallions, sausage, and beef in the sauce. It came with a full size ceasar salad because it was the nightly special. I wish this was a part of the permanent menu. Next, the mashed potatoes were okay, they tasted like there were drowned in butter, and lacked seasoning. First time at Bishop's Post last night and it was a great experience. We arrived early for our reservation, but were able to be sat right away. Our server greeted us right away to take drink orders & let us know about the evening's specials. We started with the House Smoked Missouri Trout which was very light and flavorful. The horseradish sauce was not too pungent and very complimentary to the light fish. Everyone enjoyed this starter. For our entrees, I enjoyed the Veal & Shrimp. It came with artichokes, tomatoes, asparagus in a lemon garlic sauce with mushroom risotto. Everything tasted fresh and the sauce was not too heavy by any means. My fiancé got the Chilean Sea Bass and absolutely loved it. It was served over a mushroom risotto, fresh grilled asparagus, and had a limoncello sauce. He definitely wished their was more! I also enjoyed the Basil Hayden Manhatten cocktail with my meal. It very well created. After dinner, we were able to move outside and enjoy the beautiful evening on the patio. It is an absolutely gorgeous outdoor space and I hope we can secure spot outside when we come back! read more

We have come here and always have eaten outside aside from one time we had drinks and appetizers at the bar. Last night was our 27th wedding anniversary and my husband booked reservations for patio seating. If you ever have a chance to go, and it is a beautiful day, definitely request the patio and I would suggest making reservations ahead of time because it got very busy last night. The outdoor area is stunning. They have huge umbrellas for shade, an absolutely gorgeous garden filled with flowers and a little waterfall. There is an outdoor bar with a big screen tv, so my husband got to watch the hockey playoffs last night. The ambience is 100%....gorgeous! Now for the food ! We have some appetizers we always order and they never disappoint! Baked Spinach & Artichoke dip served with Crostini bread ....delicious. We also always order the Shrimp & Crab Campechana, which is loaded with shrimp, crab and avocado, fantastic! My husband ordered an incredible steak served with street corn on the cob, and I had the pan seared scallops. Both meals were excellent! Being that it was our anniversary they had a little card on our table and we received not just the one, but two comped desserts. The dessert tray was exceptional, with so many choices! I went off of my regular choices last night to try the bread pudding while my husband had caramel cheesecake.... Both were delicious! The owners are very friendly and they jumped right in to helping and talking to people! They each stopped by a few times to make sure we were enjoying our dinner and even took some pictures for us by the garden before we left. This is an incredible restaurant with a touch of paradise! Although we have never eaten in the inside dining room, it looks beautiful. I would highly recommend coming here. When we got home, it was like returning from paradise.... Nice restaurant, good ambiance and great service. Food was ok. I had tenderloin meatloaf which was pretty tasty. One daughter had fried chicken which was good; she substituted green beans for street corn. Said the corn's coating was too thick, she could barely taste the corn. Second daughter had a stewed chicken dish prepared with olives that she disliked, said the flavor of the olives overpowered the dish. Returned for shrimp and grits. My husband, sister, and I went to Bishops Post for New Years dinner and it was perfect! We made reservations well in advance and when we arrived we had ab option to have a booth or table. We opted for a booth and in the room we were in there were probably five other tables. It was not too loud, which is always a plus. We had calamari as our appetizer and it was delicious. My sister and I chose the special Chilean Sea Bass and my husband has the tenderloin meatloaf. It was all DELICIOUS! We all had left overs to enjoy today! Drinks & wine selection are decent - nothing too wild on the wine list, my husband thought his drink was a bit too sweet. Complementary warm dinner rolls were delish. I enjoyed my seafood trio (appetizer I ordered as a main) - portion was perfect for a light meal. My husband's steak was OK, cooked to order but not his fave. I really enjoy Bishop's Post! We've been going there since they took over the location. I loved the patio before and then they went and made it bigger and better! It's beautiful and so relaxing. Dining inside is fine too, but in the perfect weather, outside dining is so nice. There is a lot of seating both indoors and outside. The service is always good. There are typically a few hostesses to greet you and we've been seated right away. Our servers have been friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food is delicious! I have never had a meal that I was unhappy with. I've tried quite a few menu items and specials over the years and haven't been disappointed. The desserts aren't too shabby either! Even though we got there before happy hour technically started, our server said to not worry about it and with a smile, she took our drink orders. I got an old fashioned, which was spot on. Shhhh...I got a second a little later. My happy hour buddies both ordered cosmos and I tasted that drink- also delicious. We ordered spinach artichoke dip and received a very, very healthy portion of both the bread and the dip- the bread was perfectly crispy, almost like enlarged croutons and the dip was delectable. We ordered well for the table. Enjoying ourselves enough, we stayed for dinner and I ordered the smoked trout. Again, the portion size was large and the food was great. Throughout our time here, our server was kind, attentive, and warm. She definitely made our experience a positive one- well done with such good service. Glad we did, there was an amazing 40ft waterfall with a pond, fire place, two fire pits, personal heaters and a huge Tv over the bar for me to rewatch the Cardinals day game. The music was just loud enough to hear, but not overpowering. Jasmine was our excellent server. We ordered the calamari, iceberg wedge salad, filet, cheeseburger, and the Bishop's basket dessert. Everything was delicious. The steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. They overheard me complaining about being chilly after the sun went down and brought me my own personal heater. Went for lunch with several ladies. I had the crab cakes for my lunch. I thought for $22 it would be a nice lunch item. Unfortunately, I was shocked when the two crab cakes arrived each the size no bigger than a scallop. I'll say I was extremely disappointed. Came here on New Years Eve for a nice dinner and it was good! The place is nice a little more upscale than your typical place. Our waitress was great, very friendly and came over just the right amount. We started with the calamari. It was very good but there wasn't a lot so if you're planning to share with more than 2-3 people maybe get two. I got the sea bass special with a Caesar salad. The sea bass was amazing! The risotto that came with it was so delicious as well. After dinner we got a slice of cheesecake to split and that was very good. My only complaint would be we ordered a bottle of Prosecco and you could tell it was not cold before they opened it so that wasn't great but our waitress gave us a chiller for the table. We really, really like this spot in Chesterfield! If you can get seated on the patio, that is definitely the place to be. It is honestly one of the prettiest patios I've seen in our area. The landscaping is gorgeous, there's a waterfall, and the covered portion is absolutely huge. The inside is a-ok, but is pretty corporate feeling & doesn't have near as much personality as the outdoor section. For lunch, the turkey club is fantastic. You also cannot go wrong with the burger for either lunch or dinner. As about their chef specials because those are always very good as well! Make a reservation and go check out the patio. read more

Was in the restaurant on 6/13/25 and ordered hamburger sliders. I asked if they could cook them well the waitress said no they are all cooked the same. The center was rare. She came over to ask how everything was when I showed her, she looked and walked away not offering to make another, I come to this restaurant at least once a month after living out of town for 2 years, That would have never happened back then. I guess it was the manager dressed with a sport coat jeans and light brown shoes that was to busy catering to the table next to us and ignoring all other tables around him. Bishops Post was something we've been meaning to make the time to try but I'm disappointed to say it seems like another place still affected by Covid - their staff seems to be quite new all around or just not great at their jobs I'm not sure which. The food was okay but nothing that really stood out appart from the mashed potato's which came in a scoop which seemed very industrial and was a big turn off. Let me start by saying the service was great. We sat at the bar. The food was sub par at best. The seafood trio appetizer was one piece of shrimp wrapped with bacon, one rubbery scallop, and one cake with a tiny bit of crab. All that for $23. We split the Chilean sea bass so that might explain why there was no color whatsoever on the plate aside from two pieces of flavorless asparagus. But for the price, completely unacceptable. We had high hopes for this restaurant but we were very disappointed. But again, the service was great. Maybe we just ordered poorly. read more
