The bishop post is the place to be for a patio night. They have invested a lot of money on the patio decorations to their landscaping. My family and I ordered their appetizer of calamari. The breading was spot on and had just the right amount of salt. I ordered their Prime Rip dip. I will say the sandwich was spectacular. The dip seemed to have a lot of seasoning in it. This made it a bit salty to eat with it. However, my wife ordered their steak and fries. The steak was cooked to perfection. The Fries were good but nothing to rave about. Overall, the food was good but nothing to rave about. Really what you are paying for is the patio and the relaxation that the restaurant provides. The Service was slow and could have been better especially for the weekend.

I haven't been here for a little while, but I do love sitting on the patio! In my opinion, it's the best patio in St. Louis. There are a few others that are really nice, and while they may serve food, they're also party places, which is great. I'll say this is the best patio for dining! We went there on a Friday night with friends and the weather was perfect for dining on the patio! I think we were there for about three hours. We had a reservation and were seated right away. There were a lot of people inside and outside when we got there. It wasn't as crowded when we left! I can't remember our servers name, but she was really good. We had a few cocktails, then ordered starters. Then another cocktail and then we ordered dinner. I was full from having lunch out that day and the starters, so I just had a salad and an appetizer for my meal. The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious. I ordered the wedge salad and asked to have it chopped up for me. I forgot to order dressing on the side, and there was way too much on the salad. My husband got a fish special and said it was the best meal he's had at Bishop's Post! I don't remember what our friends ordered, but they enjoyed their meals. We've been coming here for years, so of course we'll be back!

Phenomenal! Came here with business partners for a group dinner. I had heard Bishops patio was very nice but it far exceeded my expectations. The pond with the waterfall, all the birds singing in the trees, strands of lights and potted flowers and it really brought a sense of calm and let you relax without feeling rushed. First, let's talk service. Our waitress worked very hard tonight. She was present and attentive and patient. Offered to change out utensils for clean ones which was a lovely touch. But all the staff helped each other with removing plates and making guests feel welcome. Second, the food. The starter salad hit all those notes with being fresh and crisp. I had the Caesar and they could've tossed lettuce in a bowl with scant dressing. If a starter looks and tastes this good, is a big indication the rest of the meal will, too. And the beef gnocchi delivered! The beef was medium rare and were tender and melted in your mouth. The gnocchi were silky pillows resting in a drinkable herbaceous creamy pesto. The right amount of blistered tomatoes to cut through all that fatty richness. Wonderful! Everyone else in my party had nothing but great things to say for each of their dishes and there was a resounding agreement of having another visit and dinner here in the fall. Just as we concluded, and dessert was offered, only two were going with a slice of key lime pie and somehow learning of the connection with the recipe and the owner, everyone at the table got a slice! Thank you for hosting us! Lovely patio area. We look forward to visiting you all again!

A friend has been goin' ON about this place and was finally in the neighborhood to try it. Glad we finally made it. I ordered the House Smoked Salmon Salad and THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. And it was a filling salad, not wimpy at all. We split a Flourless Chocolate Torte, which was absolutely WONDERFUL! All in all, the food was GREAT. The service was a bit slow, but not so bad that it ruined our meal. The environment was quiet and relaxing, so we had great conversation while waiting for our food. Wish the weather would've been nice enough to sit on the patio!

Came for a late lunch and decided to eat inside although have a lovely semi- covered patio with bar. Upscale setting yet menu and prices casual enough. Service a bit slow once we ordered but was probably between shifts . Food was great once we got our order. Have a Happy Hour which would like to try, so will be back at this comfy setting.

My mom really enjoys coming here, and I love the patio. This visit it was a bit chilly so we sat inside. If the weather is cooperating, patio I the way to go! It's really beautiful and big, aesthetic is really pretty. We came for a late lunch so it wasn't super crowded. I got a Caesar salad and the prime rib dip. The food was good! It's pricy but I enjoyed. The Caesar had just the right amount of dressing needed and the prime rib was good, I prefer a bit more of a medium preparation. The fries are always fire, an my mom really enjoyed her burger. Looking forward to returning and grabbing a drink in the sunshine!

Dinner at Bishops post was on Point. We sat in the lounge because we didn't have reservations. I am glad we did. Ryan was amazing! We will be back because of his service. He made suggestions on drink variations and meal choices which were on perfect. It was our first visit for dinner and will be back soon.

We spent our anniversary here and the food was great. The service was amazing. We made a reservation about a week ahead of time, and they were busy when we arrived on a Saturday night. They have a beautiful patio that was not open when we were there but it would be a gorgeous spot for an event.

My wife and I were joined by good friends for an early dinner on Saturday at Bishop's Post. It was our first time visiting. Jasmine was our server and she was absolutely amazing. So much so we tipped her 50%. We originally planned to sit outside but the weather was too hot and humid. This place has an amazing pavilion complete with a waterfall. We started with drinks (the best old fashioned I've had in a long time) and beignets (more like hush puppies) and fried calamari. Yummy! For entrees, 2 of us enjoyed the pork chop. Absolutely delicious. One person got the tenderloin meatloaf and another the Caprese salad with grilled salmon. Everything was very good. We will be back.

Lovely midweek dinner on their gorgeous patio. Nicely shaded, so the heat level was kept down to a decent level. Service was attentive and prompt. Overall experience was pretty good. What we ordered: - spinach and artichoke dip: (3.75/4) Decent and traditional. Nothing super unique about this dish, but it does "hit!" - Bishop Post's Prime Burger: (3.5/5) I am a burger snob. This one is decent, but nothing really special to have it stand out. Should have ordered medium as it was cooked medium well+. Fries are nice! - chopped shrimp salad (3.5/5): Shrimp we're tasty (and probably straight from the freezer). Salad mix and dressing was a bit basic. Menu claims that dressing was a remoulade but it seemed more like a Cajun ranch or something. - Meatloaf (3/5): generous portion, tangy topping, meatloaf mix lacked flavor and seasoning. Steak sauce helped. - Watermelon and Heirloom tomato salad: this was a salad special and it was tasty! I will have to make this at home.

We had dinner here for my birthday and had a great experience! The staff was welcoming from the time we walked in. They explained the seasonal and daily specials thoroughly. Our waitress was AMAZING! The drinks were on point. We started with the calamari and it was 100/10. My husband had the beef tip pasta and I had the meatloaf. Both were delicious! We will definitely visit again!!

Brunch on Sunday!…read more Sunday only, it is a buffet and at $35 per person, pretty reasonable. They offer $4 Bloody Mary or Mimosa's. I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was full size and very good, seasoned rim with lime and 2 olive garnish. They have Baba Ganoush on the buffet!!! It was set up with Hummus and fried pita bread for dipping. Just as good with the Pita Bread! The buffet was set up well, so there was room for people to go in the middle section as well as the other side. The other side had the Hummus and Baba Ganoush, bagels with 2 types of cream cheese as well as lox and capers, three different kinds of salad, shrimp with cocktail sauce, smoked trout, smoked salmon, lemon ricotta pancakes, chocolate banana waffles, biscuits and gravy. The middle section consisted of scrambled eggs, crispy potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, two types of pasta, Cajun Chicken, mashed potatoes, roasted green beans, fresh fruit, a build your own yogurt bar with lots of toppings, and cranberry muffins. A pizza station with 3 or 4 types, and prime rib with horseradish sauce. Most things were delicious! Our server was Paige and she did a great job of keeping drinks filled and clearing plates and she was super friendly. The only downside was when the buffet ran out of something it took a bit of time to replenish and the dessert bar had a list of what was there but I didn't know what was what. I loved the mashed potatoes, the prime rib, and the smoked trout. Everything else was good, too.

So there's this fruit fly flying around which tells me something about the place. I don't like that fruit flies are not good. They probably need to do something about that so keep that in mind. If you don't mind fruit flies flying around your drink it's probably a good place. I didn't try any food so I can't judge that he said some of the things you're good but I didn't have time to eat so this time I love the service I like the wine, but I did not like the fruit flies. The food will be very familiar from the perspective that everything we had was excellent. We started with calamari, and to our surprise there were also a small group of onion straws on the plate. It was served with 2 sauces (one marinara and one aioli - both were excellent). Don't skip the fried lemons, they are an added treat. We then moved on to the Napoli salad, it is as described on the menu...crisp, and appropriately dressed. Then we had the special pizza of the evening, it was a black garlic base (not strong) with mushrooms and burrata on top - delicious. We also happen to be sitting next to the area with the pizza oven - a must see if you are there. We did sit inside, but outdoor seating was available. What might not be so familiar, but I thought was great, was a more casual atmosphere, and decor, I would classify is as upscale casual. Our server was very pleasant, the only thing that surprised me was the time in between courses seemed a bit longer than expected, but that gave my friends and I a chance to catch up. We called ahead and made a reservation for five, and everything went smoothly--we were seated right on time. Our server was attentive and provided excellent service throughout the evening. Honestly, the toughest part of the visit was deciding what to order because there are so many great options on the menu. I ended up going with a house salad (with rustic croutons, hard-boiled egg, cucumbers, bacon, tomatoes, and cheddar) paired with their vinaigrette dressing, along with the ahi tuna entrée. The tuna was sesame-crusted and served with sriracha aioli, soy ginger sherry sauce, sushi rice, and spinach. The presentation really stood out--it was sliced and arranged over the rice in a way that almost resembled a sushi roll. Everything tasted fantastic, and while the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food makes it worth it. This was my sixth visit over the years, and I've consistently had great experiences with both the food and service.
